as to the identity of Liz Jones mystery rock star lover? Apologies if I am repeating a thread but just read today's 'wingefest' and can't believe its anything other than a work of fiction.

OP posts:
kittya · 14/03/2011 15:28

If it's Roddy frame I'll go mad

SusannahL · 14/03/2011 16:16

Delighted to have just found this thread. Really don't think it is MU. Read that he suffered a stroke in 2005 and is now living only semi independently. According to LJ's Exmoor Files book the RS lives near her, farming on Exmoor. At the end of the book (before she was going out with him) she mentions coming across his farm while riding her horse. JK still seems the most likely.

kittya · 14/03/2011 16:52

Aren't you getting him up with the other Scot Edwin Collins? Who is mire talented that MU and Jk put together

whatkungfuthat · 14/03/2011 17:02

Well it ain't Jock Strap from the Straps. He is neither rich nor skinny. I'm running out of scots!

whatkungfuthat · 14/03/2011 17:03

kittya Roddy Frame personal info is very scant so I wonder, he's skinny enough...

kittya · 14/03/2011 17:15

And he's had "issues" which would fit but he is younger than her and doubt he is about to be a grandaddy. Too cool for her, as is Lloyd Cole. It can't possibly be any of my crushes!! One of the Bay City Rollers?!!

whatkungfuthat · 14/03/2011 17:21

Lloyd Cole isn't thin enough either and has quite large eyes I seem to recall. The BCR had all their money stolen by their manager so not rich. One of Deacon Blue?

kittya · 14/03/2011 17:31

I used to love them!!! One of Blancmange? God, I was just about to say Billy Mackenzie then!!! Oh, there have been some good Scottish musicians but, I think we are back to JK aren't we?

whatkungfuthat · 14/03/2011 17:37

The pond in the house thing in the article was interesting, perhaps thats worth a google as it may have been featured in some homes mag (if he exists). One of Fairground Attraction? Spandau Ballet went through a kilt wearing stage Hmm

sharbie · 14/03/2011 19:25

billy mackenzie rip kittya

maybe roddy frame

edwyn happily married last i heard (surely he'd have a bit more taste)

kittya · 14/03/2011 19:47

I would be surprised if M U has had a stroke as well, that would be abit weird. Poor Edwyn, I love him and yes, he would have alot more taste. I know Billy has gone, thats why I had to stop myself from thinking it Sad I loved the Associates. The people we are mentioning now are all completely my era, surely she's older than me???? I dont think its Roddy, although he has had "issues" just like her RS, I cant see him being married once let alone three times. I saw him and Edwyn play a couple of years ago. Amazing and moving.

We are right back at J K arent we, lets face it? It has to be him unless she has spun us a pack of lies. Unless it is the drummer with Altered Images Smile

sharbie · 14/03/2011 19:50

or one of texas

love edwyn too

kittya · 14/03/2011 19:55

his wife's completely devoted to him.

I did think today, I hope our Liz hasnt become some rock starts bit on the side, considering its difficult to find one that isnt married on our search!!

Has he most definately been married three times? as far as shes told us?

Midge Ures girls are too young and I think he is still married.

Maybe its one of Jesus and Mary Chain? Grin

whatkungfuthat · 15/03/2011 07:39

Kittya, I think you are right and we are back to JK or fantasy. Although does anyone remember her mentioning something about him having a farm that makes cheese? Clearly not Alex James but that must narrow the field a bit?

secretsquirrel1 · 15/03/2011 19:17

Am loving this thread!

Is Feargal Sharkey a Scot? Mind, his eyes are too big.

sharbie · 15/03/2011 19:19

they never retire though, do they? the lure of the audience is too much.

I dont think she is making it up but, I think it will be some has been. A guitarist for The Hollies or something like that.

whatkungfuthat · 16/03/2011 09:42

They never really retire, they just do the Here and Now tour Grin

secretsquirrel1 · 16/03/2011 17:25

Indeed they do........so, back to the drawing board.

Who was it on here that was certain that it was JK? I'm racking my brains as to who else was in Live Aid in '85 that could fit the bill.

Hey, what about one of Duran Duran?

whatkungfuthat · 16/03/2011 17:59

It was eyebrowqueen, she knew a journo who was adamant, said they were very happy. The drawing board is clapped out now and riddled with woodworm Grin

whatkungfuthat · 16/03/2011 18:00

We've done all the Durans but it was song long ago I can't remember the reasons why its not them.
