as to the identity of Liz Jones mystery rock star lover? Apologies if I am repeating a thread but just read today's 'wingefest' and can't believe its anything other than a work of fiction.

He actually said he has 50million in the bank??? What a strange thing to brag about. As for not doing drink or drugs, I don't think you can believe anything you read. And that goes for Liz too. I hope she doesnt end up with egg on her face.

Anyway... I've read her columns now (didn't know her before) and I think

1/ It's Jim Kerr, I'm pretty sure... about the alcohol thing, see interview on YouTube on the Wright Stuff. I think he probably did have to give up. Also he might say he is single if they don't want it known. I admire your tenacity, anyway

2/ Really, about her personality, don't you think all it boils down to is that she is an extreme control freak? Which is not her fault. Reading an interview of her with the Guardian, she actually looks like she has textbook Asperger's (obviously, the way it presents in women). She might be happier if she looked that way. She would still have the same problems, but she wouldn't have all this hatred/self-loathing. God I'm a control freak as well, and reading how unhappy she is, is forcing me to want to help

Good on her for making full use of her abilities in her career, drive, focus seeingeverythinginblackandwhite passion ...
I'm taking note.

The article in question, when Liz NOTICED...SAW... that the daughter was expecting took place before Christmas. If it was JK's daughtre, whose baby{s} is due in June, it would not have been visible at that time. Midge Ure lives near Bath, nor a million miles from the lovely Liz. He is by his own admittanc, a recovering alcoholic.He has a daughter, known as Molly McQueen, she is 24, and the eldest of 4 daughters.As to if she is expecting or not, i have no idea.He is loaded, has a fab pad by all accounts, and has constructed a studio in his garden.I can find ref to only two marriages though, but then i think we have to take some of Liz's accounts with the pinch of salt.Would the song That Certain Smile, be for his first wife? He has adopted a dog from local animal shelter. He has been very big in Italy throughout 90's, can find no ref to hotel or property there.

New here, and joyfully found this thread - I am desperate to know who the Rock Star is.

I too thought it was Jim Kerr until today - and the interview with Patsy. I thought Liz mentioned in an earlier Diary that the Rock Star's ex wife had 'warned him' off her (Liz Jones)? Or maybe that was Chrissi Hynde.

I have always been inclined to think , as do some other posters here, that she is making it all up! She seems mad enough. Or, at the very least, she may have a new man - but he is not famous.

Liz has now lost all credibility, and the plot.I have been an admirer of Liz for a long time, not always agreeing with her, but finding most of her articles interesting, but this is astounding and leads me to believe she is not living in the real world.

They have pics of people from Coronation Street in the DM because they used the night bus!! Noo of course they would not publish a picture a ROCKSTAR! She is as indescreet as they come, she herself would have sold a pic to the DM if she had one, she would sell her own grandmother! THose are the eyes of a desperate women. I think its only been a couple of dates, like she said. I think her rockstar has a silver tongue (which would be typical of his type, she says herself he has been around the block) and she is probably getting carried away with herself. I dont think shes lying I just think hes her latest obbsession and she is getting carried away with herself.
