as to the identity of Liz Jones mystery rock star lover? Apologies if I am repeating a thread but just read today's 'wingefest' and can't believe its anything other than a work of fiction.

her own generation? how old is she exactly? nearly 50?

So, I would guess early 80's, late 70's.

I found this thread by chance but I am DYING to know who it is. I just have this horrible feeling that she is making it up because it's a small world and some journo somewhere would know and then it would get out, surely. I want it to be true, if there is hope for her there is hope for us all. So far, we know he is very skinny (which rules out Jim Kerr), minted as he owns hotels and farms so must have done well during his rock stardom (and the royalties), likes animals, has grey hair, possibly a late 70's early 80's heyday, is single/divorced(?) and actually sounds quite sweet.

He might be a guitarist or drummer.

Howard Jones - he's a veggie (he once had a veggie restaurant in New York), so I would imagine he's the type to invest his money wisely, not to fritter it away, and I see on Wikipedia that he lives near Taunton, not a million miles away from Ms Jones...
