If you're going to raise climate issues please make sure you have your facts right before you post. There is a lot of incorrect PR and social media comment about plastic turf going around at the moment.

Not in that picture, perhaps, but it did in some of the others. I assume there are different grades, designs and lengths.

You say you didn't want to pay a gardener but surely a gardener is cheaper than a fake lawn.

Also the magic of a garden is how it changes in the seasons, the different wildlife you get, not just a green piece of plastic

Although I will admit that's mostly because DD kept on blocking our filter with ridiculously tiny underwear. The microplastic reduction was an added bonus.

No way. A gardener would be about £2000 a year and this lawn will way outlast a few years of a gardener.

I don't walk round my tiny garden to experience the changing of the seasons, I walk 4 miles in the countryside.

The changing of the seasons in the garden was marked by the ratios of moss, mud and weed.

That hideous lawn will outlast us all sitting in landfill somewhere

It is difficult to meaningfully "commune with nature" in 25ftx15ft surrounded by 6ft wall, 10ft wall, 20ft wall and 6ft fence.

No it will be burnt in an incinerator with carbon collection on it. Plastic is a really valuable source of energy, it's made from oil after all.

I don't think my question will be answered so I'll just add - roll on the day a government has the balls to ban them. I blame fake lawn users/sellers/owners/fitters for every 1 degree above acceptable. Selfish arsewipes.

The lawn was of such poor quality that I can't recollect it ever delivering that lovely new mown smell.

jeez youre brave..i have an tiny 8 ft circle of beautiful expensive astro turf, this crazy woman on facebook said i was genocide of nature, i was why the planet was dying etc etc..i had to block her in the end

A relative has a small balcony in her flat she still manages to see the changing seasons on her balcony and have wildlife on it

Obviously I've looked (hence posting one) and none of them look remotely like real grass to me. The OP refuses to post a photo and so do you, which makes me think neither of you really do think plastic grass looks real.

This is one I screen shotted from the previously attached link. It looks perfectly fine to me. And I have a natural lawn that after the weak we’ve had, sadly, no longer looks this good.

Why over nature and greenery?
