Fancy sending some to a single mum in need of help🤣🤣

Coshei · 21/03/2024 20:42

Tbh the best part of this thread is the obvious envy shining through from most posters.

TitusMoan · 21/03/2024 20:42

Have you got a financial adviser or do you manage it all yourself?

SheerLucks · 21/03/2024 20:42

OP, this is fascinating and encouraging.

So your DH has a hugely successful company but very little qualifications, so he started in a trade and built it up?

One of my DS's friends had to drop out of his A Levels in his first term due to ADHD and dyslexia. He came over to ours the day he left and my DH, who has a joinery company, really reassured him and told him that he'd probably earn more in a trade anyway.

That was three years ago and he's now earning ££££ in a trade - way more than most of his peers. He's an ambitious grafter who starts work at 7am too.

It wasn't judgement, just common sense. I assumed that you were both bringing in a huge salary each. That couldn't possibly be the case if you were a teacher and he was a bog standard tradesman, so I asked about the companies.

Now I've seen that you have lots of properties I think is how you made your money. You probably are just a teacher, perhaps in SNs or something, hence your comment about doing a very worthwhile job in society.

Your DH with his O' level in woodwork probably is a chippie. But he's managed to buy some property cheaply, perhaps at auction, do it up with the help of his connections in trades and either sell on for profit or rent out. With timing on your side, get into this game early enough, rinse and repeat quite a few times over, and hey presto you are rich. Am I close?

Our income as stated is from what we earn, not from investments.

My husband is not a chippie and we have not flipped houses.

Not close at all.

AMA!

What's your job?

I work in a school, not teaching work it out for yourself.

...I'm not sure you've really understood the point of AMA.

No I can't I have Dyslexia.

Work it out for myself? That’s not the point of AMA though 🤔

Gourmet dinner lady? Coach driver? Cleaner who’s got some dirt on the Head?

You're starting to remind me of Ray from Little Britain.

Why are these threads always the same...... no actual question answering followed by accusations of envy to every perspective.

Just an ego fest. Why do I open them?

Tortiemiaw · 21/03/2024 20:47

grumpypedestrian · 21/03/2024 20:40

What I’m getting is: high earners through exploitation of others.

Own lots of properties (landlords), so probably over charging on rent on properties they’d be disgusted to live in themselves.

Director of husband’s company: way to avoid paying someone else a salary.

Own company: probably have employees on min wage and no job security.

And 5 cars between 2 people? What's the bloody point? You can only drive one at once.
Probably 'caring' landlords too...

Teenangels · 21/03/2024 20:11

No one would have him.....

The misogyny is dripping out of your post.

I'm pretty sure for £720,000 a year someone would have him. And the poster is not wrong that it's your husband that earns the bulk of the income.

My husband has no formal qualifications only the O'Level in Woodwork.

He started working and after a few years started up on his own, starting on his business while working a few days for others.

We have built the business and worked hard and made a go of it, taking huge risks on the way.

Christ what a pointless thread. If you’re not actually going to answer anything what is the point of an AMA

AdultFemaleWoman · 21/03/2024 20:48

Why on earth do we need to ask you anything? Except - are you just humble bragging?

Mum1976Mum · 21/03/2024 20:48

Do you feel bad earning that much money when there are people using food banks and children living in squalor? I know I would.

Tortiemiaw · 21/03/2024 20:49

Wouldn't call taking loads of property off the market either hard work or, in fact...work.

AlltheFs · 21/03/2024 20:49

If your take home is £780k what is the gross?

I am sure that he will not have an affair, we are very happy, but if he did, I would get half of everything and as a Director I know that what ever he would earn in the future I would get half.

They probably own the squalor homes and rent them out

I suppose at least she answered my questions and told us all no one else would want her husband.

You're right. It IS fake Rod from Pimlico Plumbers isn't it?

@Teenangels I have a question. How much of the 760k takehome pay does Fake Rod spend on hair plugs, eyebrow tattoos, botox and fillers?

Why does your husband pay himself a salary of £1.3 million a year from his company but only pays you £60k?
