Ask me anything, after this I will name change.

Happy to take the good and the bad.

Which political party do you normally vote for?

Barney16 · 21/03/2024 21:58

This is such a weird thread. Ask me anything means people ask a question and then you answer. I'm off to find that thread where, when the OP got narked by a comment she hit back with " I bet you drive a vauxhall zafira". Funniest thing ever.

Shiveringinthecountry · 21/03/2024 21:58

Thanks for answering about what you both do, and very well done! It's great to see people making big financial success out of hard work and an enterprising approach, rather than simply inheriting a fortune (IMO, anyway).

Did you choose private or state education for your children?

If your children went to uni, did you pay for them or do they have loans to repay?

What did it feel like when you both realised you were becoming hugely successful?

Well done again 💪

Moonwatcher1234 · 21/03/2024 21:59

What do you think anyone would actually want to ask you?

Do you think we live in a fair and equal society when it comes to the distribution of currency? Why or why not? Do you share a % of your income with those closest around you. Why or why not?

We do not live in an equal society, most people work hard and do not get very fair, most live month to month.
We have been very lucky, took huge risks and made it, most are not as lucky as us, and we know that.

We share our wealth, we have paid off my husbands parents mortgage and paid for all improvements on their house, we have paid for holidays for the family and our best holiday for my kids was a caravan holiday to Devon with their cousins.

The OP who did an AMA about £500k must be fuming!

😂

DorisDoesDoncaster · 21/03/2024 22:02

Have there ever been times when your husband has been taking huge financial risks, when you could have lost everything, including your home, when you wished he just had a normal job?

I would love to know what his upbringing was like please. Did he come from poverty, money or a family who encouraged him to take risks or play it safe?

I’m in awe of people who have the balls to go for it, but it was drilled into me from a very early age to live a ‘safe’ financial life.

Really fascinating thread - thanks for posting.

Bluegray2 · 21/03/2024 22:02

Do you have lots of expensive designer handbags ( Chanel etc) and do you spend a lot on designer clothes ?

Do you spend a lot on beauty treatments (fillers/ Botox etc), grooming, now that you can or do you not go in for that kind of stuff

Do you love your husband?

Patrickiscrazy · 21/03/2024 22:05

No questions.
Enjoy it! 🙂

Our children went to private school but were the only ones to have a Saturday job, the kids were given cars but they had to pay to go out and pay for their petrol.

So far all the children have gone to Uni, or are going to Uni, we paid for their fees and accommodation but anything else they had to save up for it or work through uni, they did not get an allowance.

When we become successful it did not feel real, I was very proud my husband could not believe his luck and my husband still hates getting any form of credit and has a couple of accounts that are easy access so if the business was to go bankrupt we could survive for a year.

Freakinfraser · 21/03/2024 22:12

You take home 720k, after tax, have multiple properties. But if the business went bust could only survive a year?

MatLeave · 21/03/2024 22:13

Well done on getting to where you have, I think most of us would love to be in the same position. Obviously you must have the same worries as everyone else. Health, elderly parents, kids etc.

How does it feel to never worry about unexpected bills?

Where do you do your food shop?

What is your biggest extravagance?

They deleted it. Absolutely gutted about that

MrsTeepee · 21/03/2024 22:13

Where do you do your weekly food shop?

I always wonder if I'd opt for Waitrose every time, buy organic, etc. if I could afford it!!

Justbecausethefirsttimewehadanenormouscrowd · 21/03/2024 22:14

As a director of the company do you get paid anything from it and do you actually earn it if you do?

I love my husband very much, he is my biggest champion and I am very proud of him.

I have regular facials (once a month) my hair every six weeks and a blow dry when we go out, I have Botox every 6 months, but no fillers, lashes or nails.

I have expensive handbags and shoes, including Chanel but do not take them to work, my everyday handbags are Mulberry.
