AMA!

And I will try, where I can, to name names.

Op

im so sorry to hear that you are poorly - such a nasty thing and I have close experience of it. I was not the one who had it but I live with the trauma of what it did to someone close

on a side note what was up with Lewis? Was he grumpy? Maybe he’d lost a race or something!!

GellerYeller · 18/02/2024 13:40

I thought a member of the public intervened with the gunman in the Princess Anne incident till the police arrived? Forgive me if that’s not the case.

rooftopbird · 18/02/2024 13:54

Fun thread, OP, sorry you've had the usual vultures trying to tear you down. Flowers

Maireas · 18/02/2024 13:24

How cowardly of her, an unarmed woman against a man with a gun.

😂 I meant she followed security protocol which she had been under her whole life & waited for her other body guard (who heard the shots) to come to her rather then go with a unknown man who had a gun & had just shot somebody because he was kidnapping her

100% stressful & obviously lucky she was uninjured but it wasnt a character trait or a person on the streets who had just been ambushed - the royals are High risk & have always had security despite over 1000 year period obviously some with get through the cracks. But they're not a lax group who do whatever in an emergency & hope for best with only the most capable rising to the top.

@LoftyAndWendyJoinTheCrew Once again Queen Latifah in the House ...

If this is AMA, here are my questions please could you answer them:

If I wanted to find a boyfriend who had the sort of money to fly me from a private airport, where would you suggest I go/what should I do?

Were there any common threads you discerned amongst the celebrities in terms of character? (as in having observed them would you say that certain type of characteristics/behaviours are more likely to lead to celebrity than others)

So sorry I missed this.

I would start with working at an FBO.
A huge proportion of passengers were rich Arabs. But I met all kinds of people and did get hit on at times (if that's what you're after)
There is an FBO in Hampshire and others dotted around the U.K. FBO farnborough is one of the main ones.
I got the job after applying, and 2 interviews.
Just make sure you're well groomed and presented and go for it. If you wanted to apply somewhere like this I can PM you with tips for interview etc (I'm still friends with a lot of my colleagues who still work there)

In regards to your second question, without a doubt the men are charming. Polite but Chauvinistic, and have a lot of money. I wasn't around celebs frequently enough to really observe. I met loads and had repeat flyers but I didn't spend a long time with them when I was in their presence. The women are utterly beautiful. Not always in a stereotypical way. There's just an aura.
But then again, some of them are arseholes.

Sorry if that's a bit of a shit answer and sorry I missed your question a couple of times!

It was basically a bit of a power imbalance of 'you are the workers I am the VIP' sort of thing.
No please or thank yous.
We were used to it though but normally the rudeness was the Z listers (MIC - TOWIE cast)

I'm sorry you've also had experience of cancer. It's bloody relentless isn't it. But we pick ourselves up and carry on! I really hope you / yours are okay now ❤️

@LoftyAndWendyJoinTheCrew I totally agree about the ‘aura’. In person, the well off and celebs have a bit of a glow about them. Could be grooming, skincare, clothes, attitude or a combination of all those.
People in the arts or fashion, especially, look starkly different , I’ve found, to Joe Public.
Great thread!

  • *you left out the part where another security guard heard the gun shot & came to the rescue & that the royals had round the clock protection after the IRA/provos & there supporters managed to shoot queen Victoria's son & blow up Prince Philips family in NI

She hardly fought them tooth & nail until she was able to run to Buckingham palace all fairy tale style & lock her herself in till a the man had disappeared into thick fog

Wow - really not nice to make fun of an incident where 4 people were shot (the RPO, a driver, a police officer and a journalist) - some of them seriously injured.

Quitelikeit · 18/02/2024 14:47

That’s very interesting to hear they have an aura or glow

lol so like star quality or the X factor about them or something?

GoodHeavens99 · 18/02/2024 15:13

'Kevin Costner offered me a crème egg'

Would be an excellent user name!

LadyEloise1 · 18/02/2024 15:29

If people are rude to others and consider them underlings I blame their upbringing for their lack of manners.

Disappointed about that MIC member.
I never watched the show but I do hope his wife and children were able to put manners on him.

AbeSimpsonsWhiskeySour · 18/02/2024 15:37

Is it true that as well as Leo, George, Chris Pine, Hugh Jackman, there are also women in the closet? There's a persistent one about T Swift and I'm not sure where it comes from. I think her being gay would be good for her career, as I don't personally think that heterosexual men are her market?

Yeah, for me, they generally have an indefinable ‘quality’. Some are more ‘striking’ than beautiful for example. Some people just ooze main character energy.

ilovepixie · 18/02/2024 17:11

Did you ever meet Cliff Richard?

That's because it's not true Smile.

Wherever are you getting your information from? Lord Mountbatten's murder was several years after Anne's kidnap attempt.

Rachelsthorns · 18/02/2024 17:59

"Beaton, who had been Anne's sole bodyguard, later said about royal security 'I had nothing. There was no back-up vehicle. The training was non-existent; but then again, we thought nothing was going to happen. They are highly specialised now, highly trained.'
Immediately after the attack the use of only a single protection officer was stopped"

Thanks for this but I was looking for more info about where these people hang out socially - not celebs but non-celeb people who use private airports. I don't think this how I'd get this bf!! No one is very likely to start dating staff at an airport they are passing through. I mean most people when they are travelling have their minds on 100 things and barely pay any attention to people 'serving' them - same as waiters. I'm sure in the history of the universe it's happened (well I know it has) that people have dated airline staff or waiters who have served them but it's v. unlikely and that is only going to come out of a high sexual chemsitry which is rare anyway. So any tips on where these sorto fpeople hang out socially

Does that' really defeat the point of the thread??? how can it be AMA about many celebs I worked with if you weren't around them enough to know? very puzzled.

Jeannie88 · 18/02/2024 18:21

What was the nicest and rudest experience you encountered and with whom? Xx

Vignetta · 18/02/2024 18:40

I've been in the same place as Spencer Matthews (literally next to him) twice, and he had no reason to be nice to anyone as he wasn't there in any public capacity but he was totally charming - friendly, helpful, kind, no look-at-me attention-seeking, really down to earth and approachable.

3luckystars · 18/02/2024 18:43

So just to confirm, you have not met Harry Styles.

twistyizzy · 18/02/2024 18:56

Jk8 · 17/02/2024 15:39

lol this old bag whos never had to do a days work in her life & so lets face it... hasnt "doesnt suffer fool's" ?!? like is that just a fancy way of saying she doesnt put up with people who she feels wastes her time?/is beneath her?/isnt as smart as her

like seriously when has this woman ever had to actually deal with a 'fool' who wasnt put in front of her purely due to status (her own!) & circumstance (theres)

Actually she is well known and respected in horsey circles. Knows her stuff, walks around events with no security, will talk to anyone and takes it all seriously. She helped a friend out at an event when they had forgotten their spurs.

Nannyseaside · 18/02/2024 19:08

What?

I've had hundreds of encounters with celebrities.
I don't have the capacity to answer personal questions about them as I don't know them on a personal level...

I can still tell stories about the encounters I've had. Which is what I have done on this thread.

He's a raging narcissist as was very apparent if you watched Made In Chelsea. He has the capacity to be ultra charming when he wants to be.

This is him breaking up/rowing with his then gf Louise who he had treated horribly - the whole seen is revolting and he is vile to her and in this clip here he says to her (an upset & hurt young woman who loved him):

"it's fucking hard to respect you when you allow me to cheat on you" and "you are going to go home after this and cry your fucking eyes out and I hope you do"

Anyone who is capable of speaking to another person like that let alone a former intimate partner is really not at core decent or nice.

And the whole "I've changed/grown up/its a long time ago" doesn't wash with me because it's about a fundamental moral value of how you treat people. I've never spoken to anyone like that in my life and even when very young if you are breaking up with someone who loves you, you know they are hurting. It's a very nasty streak in someone to behave like that IMO.
