AMA!

And I will try, where I can, to name names.

OP posts:

So did I.

Take no heed OP, Meowandthen is having a superior moment.

Over40Overdating · 17/02/2024 22:01

@Meowandthen not sure what point you are trying to make with OP but in a former life I worked for AND with some of the same names the OP is dropping and many more and IME their behaviour didn’t vary according to the distinction you are trying to make. Also sounds like you are trying to claim superiority in that distinction and after nearly 20 years of it I can safely say working with famous people really doesn’t bestow any special prowess on anyone.

@ColleenDonaghy

Jenson button, who was probably the most lovely celeb I've ever met. Fascinating guy. And also Damon Hill, he was great too. Very professional, but very personable.

Incidentally, DH works with Jenson Button from time to time, and also says he is delightful, really nice, engaged, friendly, down to earth (I thought he'd be a bit of a brat, but apparently very-much-not).

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2024 22:39

I didn't meet any tennis players but Andy Murray came in
Err

Nellle · 17/02/2024 22:44

@janejeffer

OP has mentioned celebs that came into her work when she wasn't there, so her colleagues met them.

Thats what I was going to say! She always looks 1. rude and 2. like shed need a shedload of extra strength hairspray on

I was at Badminton years ago and in the posh bit as my boyfriend's brother was riding. I stepped backwards and accidentally trod slightly on her (booted) foot. She was not polite.......😂😂

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2024 22:45

Don't be ruining my joke @Nellle

I had a friend who worked in a similar role and loved George. She was convinced he was gay though.

It's a open secret that he has a boyfriend that he's bought a rather delightful villa in lake Como for, not too far from his own

I was skiing a few years back and met some girls, one of whom had worked in the industry, She was adamant that yes - it is a completely open secret that George is gay.

I have no problem with that and doubt many people do these days - seems odd that he still wants to hide it and therefore be the subject of all this underground speculation. Quite sad really - but I suppose it's his choice (and Amal's).

I was once on an easyJet plane coming back from Marseille with viscount Linley ( Margaret’s son) on board. Just sitting there like any old civilian. I thought “ this is going to be interesting at baggage reclaim”. However, on arrival he was quickly ushered down a side corridor by a very officious looking woman who immediately put some kind of thick rope across the entrance to keep hoi polio out.

I know someone who has this airport job.

It isn't exciting at all. The passengers are mostly rich Arabs who don't acknowledge her presence. A few' famous' people but she has no idea of their personality whatsoever. She is basically just escorting them to get them in/out of the airport as quickly and privately as possible.

And she has never signed a NDA as there is absolutely no need.

I thought that was a strange sentence too - had to read it a couple of times - not sure it's meant to imply what it does!!

Err

As in I didn't meet him, but he flew from the airport.

I just didn't personally meet him.

You were there to serve them, to assist them. So for, not with.

These are brief encounters, not working with or knowing someone. If you had, you wouldn’t be telling tales, albeit nothing of any substance here.

(And yes, I have worked with many slebs over the years. My role was to advise over time, based on a great deal of detail. I knew a lot of people and a lot of information but I wouldn’t divulge anything of importance.)

With and for are both correct

This is a harmless thread.

Why do you think the OP having a junior role means she can’t tell her stories?

Why do you feel the need to mention your more senior role and level of access?

Are you very insecure? If you aren’t, you might want to work on your communication skills because that is how you come across.

IdaPrentice · 17/02/2024 23:16

I can't believe that even on a relatively light-hearted thread about celebs, some posters are sniping and making nasty comments and put-downs.

Actually on second thoughts, I can believe it.

It's every single thread now. It doesn't matter the content of the OP. People (not all) just want to rip into the poster and give them a good kicking. I would never post my own thread on here nowadays.

TiredCatLady · 17/02/2024 19:30

Calling complete horseshit on this as vast majority of this is public domain information. And anyone in this position (royalty) would be NDA’d to fuckery and back.

And if you are stupid enough to break an NDA then FFS on your head be it.

Edited

Not true - I lived in very close proximity to a royal for 2 years …..didn't have to sign anything. Barely ever saw them.

LindorDoubleChoc · 17/02/2024 23:53

I have too, but nobody cares about who you've worked with or your gossip. It's about this interesting <<holds thumb and forefinger 1mm apart>>

The well there's been plenty of people interested on this thread.

It's a harmless thread. Nice work with your digs. You're another one who wants to mock and kick people down.

I've actually posted here to take my mind off of my current hospital admission due to cancer treatment complications. I've enjoyed telling my encounters and looking back on a fun part of my life.

Does that make it anymore interesting to you?

Did the royal children pass through our airport? If so was it with their parents or their nanny or both?
Did any of the other celebrities come through with their kids. Did they manage by themselves or did they travel with a nanny?

tobee · 18/02/2024 01:11

I've skimmed this thread and disappointed and sad that people are being rude to op.

fuchsteufelswild · 18/02/2024 01:14

Are paparazzi allowed on the tarmac? How often do they show up? Do private airports account for this differently?

richardhoymanwantshisknickersback · 18/02/2024 01:15

@LindorDoubleChoc wow who pooped in your kettle? 200+ comments including many questions and discussion on OP's thread would suggest that people are in fact interested. I'm sure people would be equally interested in your tales too if you wish to start your own thread. A little compassion goes a long way. Hope you feel less spiky in the morning.

Good luck with your cancer treatment Flowers

I was about to ask if it was Spencer Matthews!

Somepeoplearesnippy · 18/02/2024 01:48

I'm guessing Camilla for the Elnett. I love her hair but it looks very high maintenance.
