@Singletrackmind I don’t think he dare say anything other than they are lovely 😂 he did walk in in shock straight after and ask where on earth I’d gone and did they mean to take so much.
My four week check tomorrow too, then one in early October and that’s all I have in. This week the incisions have suddenly started to look a lot better, less angry and paler. When I get a bit cold or shivery though I’m very uncomfortable, not quite pain but really unpleasant almost painful sensation in the lower half of my boobs - anyone else and does it go?

Hi all, some of you might know that I booked to have a bit of guidance with a personal trainer at the gym so I could learn what machines to use and not make a dick of myself. I had my op in November.

Well I started at the beginning of July and because I’ve been on holiday all summer I’ve gone for half an hour most days probably five out of seven days by the time you get there and back it’s an hour.

well, the results are in and I’ve lost over a kilo of fat, as this machine tells you what your body fat is and I’ve managed to lose a couple of kilos while still eating and drinking for Britain and I just feel so much stronger.

It does this thing where it works out your metabolic age and I’ve gone down to 41 and 53 in rl.

so now I feel that the whole stomach to boob ratio is a lot better. And I would say if you think the gym is not for you find yourself a friendly personal trainer, be quite explicit in what you do want as advice and what you don’t want (I said I didn’t want any food or nutrition advice) and make sure you get along with them, and it makes all the difference.

in other news, the scar from the skin excision (to remove the flesh left after liposuction for axillary tissue) has got loads better and I showed my friend last night. She couldn’t believe how almost invisible it is now.

on the other side of my body, I just had Lipo and no skin excision, and you could only see the whole whether Lipo was for a month or so

What an amazing result! I can't wait to do this, I'm going to get a personal trainer. My only concern is, do you have to eat loads of protein? I mean I don't hate protein or anything but all those tiktok videos make it look like a full time job, and I'm a sandwich lover 😋

Hi Maurice, thanks.

No, I told him that I was just gonna carry on living my normal life.

To be honest I cook all of my food /don’t eat processed stuff but do like a glass of wine and I wasn’t giving up or changing any of this.

If it comes to the point that I have to start taking supplements, then that’s not right.

Madagascary · 30/08/2023 09:43

Ha ha, I dictated that message and I like the way it gives you your French alias 😃

Notooserious · 30/08/2023 16:44

Just waiting on the surgeon for my check…everything is crossed. I caught up with my pt today and said guiltily that I was planning to use meal shakes for 2 meals a day and whatever my husband puts in front of me for dinner because I just can’t bring myself to count calories or think about food and she was like, go for it. It’s not what she recommends normally, she tries to support people to make long term changes that are maintainable but she knows I need a quick win and to not have to do any thinking. So here goes! Trying it for a month to see what happens.

SummerChilling · 30/08/2023 16:54

Thanks sharing your experience on here it’s really helpful. I’ve always had a large chest G-H cup and do a fair amount of sport so always struggled. Now in the middle of menopause age I’m actually losing some weight again, but by reading this I need to get my BMI down to 28-29 so wouldn’t “qualify” at the moment. I’m also struggling to see how I can find the time to get the length of recovery needed juggling two children & work. However I still remember my mum saying a good 10yrs ago her friend had it done and she said to me I should consider it, my mum never says stuff like that, but my whole life I’ve had back, & neck/migraine issues. Best get saving & see if I can maybe do it next year. Any recommendations for a DR in the SW?

SummerChilling · 30/08/2023 17:00

@Notooserious i listened to the audiobook of “Why we eat too much” it’s helped shift my relationship with food plus going gluten free honestly for the first time in years I’m not “dieting” or calorie counting but very slowly losing weight. I’ve dropped a stone in 4months, but after a period of continuously slowly gaining in my late 40s, this feels good. I’d like to drop another stone to get to my comfortable weight and move back from an obese bmi to the overweight bmi I’m nearly there.

omgsally · 30/08/2023 18:52

Not read through all the comments, so this might have been said already but my very strong advice to anyone having this op is to insist that the Dr goes as small as possible. There's obviously a limit as to what's achievable but really stress the point. Once you get over the initial thrill and the obvious difference, you will regret it that you didn't go smaller.

Bigtitsbetty · 30/08/2023 19:21

@Notooserious thats great news!

WRT husbands…mine has been really supportive (his work bonus paid for it) but I know he struggled seeing it at first, even if he said they were ok. He’s totally fine now. He was very scared to touch them too but he got over that pretty sharpish 🤣

Notooserious · 30/08/2023 19:55

Yes, I wanted as small as possible but given that I started off as JJ/k the best he could do without full on nipple removal was a solid D. But for smaller folks it’s often possible to go much smaller than that.

Bigtitsbetty · 30/08/2023 22:41

Size is never straightforward. I have very wide boobs so they couldn’t go too small otherwise they would have ended up as a horizontal ridge.

Just back from my 4 week check up. All going well, the weird shivery pain is normal and is hypersensitivity and nerves and will get better. My nipple that doesn’t know how to nipple at the moment he was confident will learn and said it’s probably some of the internal stitches still. Cleared to do some yoga as long as I’m sensible and allowed a ten minute bath and in to sports bras. I’ll see him again in a month but all very encouraging today.
@Singletrackmind is your review this week? Have I missed it? Hope all is well and not long now @MorrisZapp !

Madagascary · 31/08/2023 16:16

Omg BATHS finally

Singletrackmind · 31/08/2023 16:16

Hello @Martinisarebetterdirty yes today 4 week check too! Glad you are doing well 😀

Everything looking as it should with my new boobs so I’m told! I’m to use the silicon cream stuff after showers now, but am to stay taped & ideally in compression bra until 3 month check. Nurse said another 4 weeks at least for current swelling to subside when I mentioned my ‘porn boob’ look 😂
I can get back to lower body gym … didn’t ask about yoga 🧐but can self practice at home I reckon. Feel more positive than I have last few days … up and down and up and … 😁
@MorrisZapp yes … tomorrow?

Madagascary · 31/08/2023 16:18

@Martinisarebetterdirty did he have your before picture up on the screen? I saw a sneak peek of mine and fucking hell how awful

Martinisarebetterdirty · 31/08/2023 16:24

@Madagascary thankfully not! It would have been awful 😂 Never want to see those again but I did get my histology and all clear, 440g off one side and 620g off the other.
Glad you’re feeling a bit better @Singletrackmind, I was actively encouraged to start exercising, she asked how I felt about getting back to the gym, ermmmm I don’t do the gym 😂
Yes to silicon too, once a day and moisturise and massage the other end of the day.

user80 · 31/08/2023 16:41

Hi ladies. Glad to hear you’ve sailed through the 4 week checks @Martinisarebetterdirty and @Singletrackmind
I 100% get the up and down feeling, I am not happy with how I look right now and hoping they “drop” into proper boob shapes again soon. However I also had an amazing moment last weekend - I was at a huge congress for work and spend a lot of my time at those dashing about enormous exhibition halls. I realised that I was holding my head up and putting my shoulders back a bit and I wasn’t remotely self-conscious about the bounce factor. It may sound daft but it felt incredible, one of my first “I’m soooooo glad I did this” moments and gave me a real boost.
I’m now on hols in Pembrokeshire and also went bra-free on the beach yesterday, under a wetsuit and then after when I couldn’t be bothered to contort myself into a bra under my towel. Liberating.
I haven’t seen my official before pics but I did take my own and did a side by side comparison the other day. Quite amazing and nice to see when I’m still mentally trying to catch up with being a smaller-boob person 😊

Singletrackmind · 31/08/2023 16:42

@Madagascary … I took my own ‘before’ pics and am doing progress ones. Any down day I just whip out the before and that cheers me up no end! Also showed the new boobs to my lovely friend who said ‘wow they are amazing’ … which was nice cause I didn’t even have to bribe her first 😁

Singletrackmind · 31/08/2023 16:46

@user80 amazing 🙌we were having an overlap experience there! Lovely nurse said to me today, honestly it can take a good 12 months for your brain to catch up to the new version of you. Loving the beach vibes … liberating … totally.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 31/08/2023 17:49

@user80 - that sounds wonderful!

MorrisZapp · 31/08/2023 19:44

Ooh la la! Maurice checking in 😍

My surgery is on Tuesday, and I'm currently trying to persuade Spire to TAKE MY BLOODY MONEY!

You'd think they'd have experience of this but no, no patient has ever managed to unlock the hidden process by which payment is made, and the lady who might know is away from her desk.

What pisses me off the most is that I took the money out of my Premium Bonds and the draw is tomorrow 😂

Heartfullofcheese · 31/08/2023 20:11

Oh @MorrisZapp I had the same thing!!! It was so hard to pay!

agree I must find a modest way of showing my scars 10 months in. I’ll post.

Cinnamonandcoal · 31/08/2023 21:59

Glad to see this thread.

I'm a 34JJ, in my 30s and have wanted a reduction for ever. I was a DD at 14. I don't get back ache but they are bloody uncomfortable, I can't even go braless at home and I can't sleep on my front. They aren't a bad shape at all considering the size but they just rule my life in terms of clothes and how active I am

Done breastfeeding babies so I will start to think more seriously about this now, but I do think I'll need to lose some weight first, I'm currently a size 16 and not tall. I could afford the surgery.

I wouldn't go very small, I'd be happy at an E/F probably. That's still much smaller than now.

My question is, how have your nipples recovered? Do you still have sensitivity? I (and my partner) would be pretty disappointed if I lost that.

StubbleTurnips · 31/08/2023 22:48

@youngestisapsycho i had mine at 20, I wasn’t too young. There are considerations though re: breastfeeding should she want to have children. I don’t regret it so young.
