I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

Thank you. Feeling sore and a bit out of it, but home now. I have a 1 year old so my husband is being an absolute saint looking after him. Mine was a bit different in that it was a reduction to even out my boobs (there was quite a difference between the two) really pleased with the result so far.

Madagascary · 03/12/2022 16:49

you can see already? Well done.

If you don’t like that laxative the hospital gave you, my tip is Marks & Spencer’s prunes are a more delicious way

Skidamarinkadinkadink · 03/12/2022 18:40

Yeah definitely - obviously it’s still swollen and has dressings on, but can already really see an improvement.

thanks for the top tip!

Madagascary · 03/12/2022 19:27

I woke up in recovery and said “is it done now?” and peeked and I could just see everything was flatter.

Madagascary · 07/12/2022 17:30

How’s things today @Skidamarinkadinkadink ? I found pushing myself up in bed hurts at your time.

my lipo under my arms is way more sore. Boobs feel a bit bruised at the end of the day but back at work after two weeks

Skidamarinkadinkadink · 07/12/2022 18:24

Yeah feeling good thanks @Madagascary I have a 2 year old so my husband has been taking up all of the heavy lifting (result!)

feels like I’m wearing a very tight bra, but not on any painkillers anymore just the ABs.

back to work on Monday so just a week off for me!

did you get both procedures done at the same time?

Madagascary · 07/12/2022 18:39

Oh I’m glad!! Totally agree that it’s like a tight bra. Or a tight bra on sunburn I felt like.

did they say how much they took off?

Madagascary · 07/12/2022 18:40

Bum. It’s me. I name changed!

SequinShagger · 07/12/2022 18:49

Do you work at a desk from home or something? I wouldn’t have been able to go back after a week it was only after about 11 days that I felt not exhausted by the most simple thing.

As a result I’ve gone back to working from 7:30 am to 5 pm in a relatively physical job with no problems.

Please do take it carefully. Yes both at the same time

SequinShagger · 07/12/2022 18:49

But I forgot the name change again. Can’t be bothered to contact MNHQ

Skidamarinkadinkadink · 07/12/2022 21:44

Yes - I work from home most of the time. I know what you mean about the tiredness. I’m having to take a nap when my toddler naps at the moment. Hopefully that will improve by next week.

no they didn’t, but I’m seeing surgeon in a couple of days so will ask then!

I had my reduction this morning. They must have given me some good drugs as so far no pain just mild discomfort from the bandages.

I've been banking a few questions so here's goes?

How did it feel when the drugs wore off?

How long before the swelling goes down? With all the dressings etc they still seem huge to me. Really interested to see what size they settle to.

Did you notice your posture naturally change or do you consciously have to think about not rolling shoulder down. I used to have great posture but the boobs made me hunch.

Do you feel you can breathe easier now? The weight put pressure on my ribcage and going up stairs especially used to make me breathless. I'm hoping that will go and it isn't because I'm horrendously fit.

Thanks 😊

Madagascary · 09/12/2022 17:07

Oh well done! You’ll feel very chill for a bit. Make sure to time your drugs well. With regards to swelling, I don’t think mine was bad but they did feel very hard for a long time.

They are still hard ish and feel under my armpits but apparently that’s quite normal. Did they not tell you how much they removed? I’m still fascinated by that!

q regarding scar gel. @Bigtitsbetty what type were you recommended ?

Madagascary · 09/12/2022 17:08

With regards to posture and things like that, at the moment, I’m hunching my shoulders as I walk around at work to stop any movement, I remember reading the Sally Hughes video, or rather watching it, and she said the same that you walk with your shoulders up and hunched because you’re feeling so kind of precious about them.

When the drugs wore off I was fine.

I stop taking morphine after three days and even then had only taken intermittently.

I was off most painkillers by five days and just take occasionally now if I’ve overdone it

anonymouse · 09/12/2022 17:48

Thanks. All good to know. Where can I find the Sali Hughes video?

I haven't seen my Consultant post surgery yet but he'll tell me how much he removed. Now that I'm sat up a bit more, I can definitely see the difference.

I think I'm definitely getting private medical insurance for the future. The care is amazing and surprisingly the food even with the post anesthetic dry mouth.

Madagascary · 09/12/2022 18:11

It’s on Instagram you have to scroll back through her reels to about summer last year in July and she’s wearing dungarees in it. Dark blue dungarees. If you’re looking for that kind of image.

I don’t have it. I’d saved but I’ve just deleted it

Madagascary · 09/12/2022 18:13

Got it. www.instagram.com/tv/CD0br3jnWNA/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Madagascary · 09/12/2022 18:37

Agree re private care. Fuck this NHS crap. I wolfed a tuna toastie and honeycomb ice cream after mine.

anonymouse · 09/12/2022 19:02

Thanks for the link. Also Sali looks so different now than just a couple of years ago.

Did anyone experience pins and needles/ tingling in hands due to the compression bandages? They just did an ECG to check things but all fine so wondering if it's that.

anonymouse · 09/12/2022 19:26

Singletrackmind · 11/12/2022 17:07

@Madagascary thx for updates, it’s helping me with questions I must ask at the Jan consult … sounds a bit sore though … how much can you tell what they will actually look like or is it still too soon with swelling etc .. ?

Madagascary · 11/12/2022 19:02

They look AMAZING t. It must be said. Even under clothes the reduction of bulk. It’s so worth it.
