I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

@Madagascary oh god that sounds great 😀 … & yeah you probably just need to slow down a bit!

Bigtitsbetty · 18/12/2022 16:41

Hey! How’s everyone getting on?
I’m now 13+ weeks post surgery. All healing really nicely. I’m just using bio-oil and the scars are really fading now.
My boobs aren’t as small as I would have liked but they are much smaller than before and I’m not having to take boob size into account when buying clothes. Clothes look so much better now. No regrets!

Oh, I was wondering where you were! So glad to hear that you’re getting on well.

At the three-week mark, I really noticed a difference in it not hurting, well, not hurting not feeling heavy and bruised when I got up in the morning and we not thinking about them during the day.

My surgeon leaves micropore tape on for as long as possible which I’ve only replaced parts of it once.

I’m desperate to have a bath, I’m not a fan of showers.

I love this size it’s quite small, and to be honest, it took me a while to get used to looking at them, because I was unhappy or scared, I can’t quite work out why.

My under arms and the underarm bit of the under boob stitching is the most tender, maybe from the liposuction too.

so so so pleased.

Madagascary · 18/12/2022 18:27

typo “not because I was unhappy “

Madagascary · 18/12/2022 18:30

Oh and I bought (can’t wear yet) a bra top from primark fgs. I’m never buying wires again

Bigtitsbetty · 18/12/2022 21:48

I wish I’d had liposuction but I was quoted another £4k for it!

I have bought one underwire bra and bizarrely it makes my boobs look smaller.

Yes. I had axillary under one arm but he also did behind my armpits. Was an extra 3 because of an excision too. By that point I thought I’d get the whole lot done.
my big fear of people noticing was , as you said, groundless. weirdly. !!

what happened at your ? 6 weeks post op appointment?

He had a look at them, had a feel etc. Said they were healing well. He also went over the histology of the breast tissue they removed. He said it was extremely fibrous and had some minor benign calcifications.

he wants to see me again in a few months to see how they settle.

Madagascary · 19/12/2022 21:12

Oh god!! I hadn’t considered that. Fibrous? What does that mean

mine said that the cysts I’d had trouble with were plentiful and BLUE !

Singletrackmind · 20/12/2022 21:01

@Bigtitsbetty @Madagascary good to hear you are both doing well😀
questions! At what point in the process of recovery have you felt like your feel ‘normal’ again & do you feel like your new boobs are ‘you’ …. sorry if that sound daft, it’s just @Madagascary you mentioned being a bit scared of looking at them & I can imagine feeling a bit like that.

Madagascary · 20/12/2022 22:00

Yeah that’s gone now totally.

I would say three weeks when I could go for large parts of the day without being aware of them, but went back to work after two weeks also felt bruised and heavy, maybe from pushing doors and lifting a little bit too much
obviously the first few days sitting up and stuff like that it’s tricky, but I think I was driving short distances after a week but taking things very easy

Singletrackmind · 22/12/2022 20:48

Good progress then - thx for the replies 🙏 @Madagascary The liposuction … was that just removal or was it redistribution? The first surgeon I saw mentioned about taking fat to put in the upper pole of my boobs so they wouldn’t look ‘flat’ when uplifted, but she also said I didn’t have to have that & ‘could have it later’ which I didn’t find very helpful.

Madagascary · 23/12/2022 07:49

Hi. Just removal of axillary and then oddly the back of my armpit! 🥴

just took my microphone off my nipples - what a Christmas (!)

Your surgeon doesn’t sound helpful. Where (roughly ) are you ?

Singletrackmind · 23/12/2022 11:33

😝… fun Christmas for you! The surgeon I saw first was in London but I’m in the Southwest so second surgeon I’ve booked to see is Bristol which is much better 👍& hopefully I’ll like this one better 🤞

Madagascary · 26/12/2022 08:39

I’m now busy applying silicone gel twice a day. All dressings off. The underarm excision post liposuction looks angriest. Interestingly the ones down from my nipple and around it aren’t bad at all

bought 5 tiny non wired bras in the sale 💃🏻

Madagascary · 01/01/2023 22:15

Guys. How long did you wear your post surgery bra at night for
online seems to suggest 3 months

did you all stick to this?

@anonymouse hows it going?

Madagascary · 01/01/2023 22:23

Oh no. I’ve reread. 6 weeks!

I wore mine for over a year. If I didn’t, I’d get sharp pains.

MuhMuh · 02/01/2023 17:00

I still wear it when I’m due on actually. The compression does help with the pain.

anonymouse · 03/01/2023 15:35

All good here. I'm back to picking up my toddler (I did check this with my consultant and he said as long as I wore a sports bra it was fine).

Healing well. I'm quite impressed at how little the scarring is. I reckon it'll fade well over the coming months.

I keep having to remind myself to take it easy still as I feel I can go back to normal. Boobs feel a little sore & bruised to touch at times but other than that no pain. I didn't really need any painkillers post discharge.

I've gone from a 30H to 30D although I'm hoping they'll settle to a C but time will tell.

Madagascary · 03/01/2023 16:23

Oh, that is so exciting! Well done to you. Also well done on No painkillers. I found the bruising in the morning quite heavy feeling and used paracetamol for at least a couple of weeks but not all the time
I rather bravely did a post-Christmas weugh in today, and despite the fact that I must’ve put on a bit of weight, was still under where I was before, all power to the breast reduction

Madagascary · 03/01/2023 18:14

I am six weeks postop and rather daringly. I ordered some sale bras

I can see now that the area around my liposuction and my back is still swollen. Stupid me

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 03/01/2023 19:58

Any one here as large as me? 34 JJ/k ??

Mincespi · 03/01/2023 20:14

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn
I’m around a 32H although they do grow on my TOM, tbh I can’t actually get a bra to fit them.
my op is booked for March 💃🏻

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 03/01/2023 20:23

Curious to know how small, realistically I could go..
