I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Welcome @Occitane how lovely to have another person 😀 31st would have been my date too … but it’s my birthday & I figured not! However, both I and @Martinisarebetterdirty will be right behind you on the 1st Aug.

So pre-op stuff all fine this am, nursing/ support team really nice. Was thinking I hadn’t been asked some of the detailed stuff then remembered that I’d filled in & gone through with the surgeon, a huge/ detailed medical questionnaire at the first consult. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Surgeon understands I want to be small/ natural shape and said aiming for C/D. Too small & it’s FNG territory which I don’t want. I took pics of boobs I would like mine to look like 😆 & surgeon said bring my favourites on the day as they like to have that visual.

Quite excited now, although will prob have a panic in a couple of weeks time!

I put further down the thread how my surgeon says he decides, and he literally takes them out. Has a look takes out a bit more ask his assistant what they think.

I think there is very little scientific about it apart from the aesthetic

Free Nipple Graft … complete detachment of the nipple/ sewn back on as opposed to being retained on a ‘pedicle’ of breast tissue & moved up .. mostly big/ dramatic reductions but some people do choose it apparently. Anyhow, yes defo a bunch of techniques & then some aesthetic artistry at work … I hope!

I’m 38H now, and the surgeon said he thought I could end up with a c cup. I haven’t been a c since I was about fourteen!

I haven’t confirmed yet, but I will tomorrow. I was having last minute nerves, then I looked at photos from our holiday last year and decided it was time to make the change.

I am So excited for you all. I bought a pack of slightly moulded cup T-shirt bras yesterday. Since surgery I am experiencing very visible nipples through my clothes. I can only imagine that my nipples were proud before but I couldn’t see them because they pointed downward. They are hard to miss when they point forward 😂
The bras look great though.

Sleep is still not great, but the hypersensitivity has eased off which is a big relief. I feel like I’m starting to get back to normal now, exactly a month out.
I am struggling to find a bra that’s comfortable, I’ve tried all of the ones recommended on this thread and can’t get on with any of them. Even though I’m measuring a 32, 34 feels too tight. So I’m just sticking with the Macoms for now.
I saw what a few PPs said about their stomach appearing more prominent and can definitely confirm that’s true! 😂

@user80 trial and error I guess on bras. The nurse I saw on Wed said that all the women getting breast implants moaned about the compression bras. The women who have reductions are so used to being trussed up/ delighted to be lighter so tend to have less of an issue.

Yes I am now worried about my stomach too 😂 wondering if planking will make a difference in the three weeks I have 😂

@Singletrackmind I think “trussed up” hit the nail on the head. I still feel trussed up in the bras I’ve tried so far, when I was hoping they’d be lighter and more comfortable. It’s just because I’m still swollen and not sure of my size, so I just need to be patient. Not my forté 😬

I’m getting a bit apprehensive and nervous. I keep flitting between wanting as little as possible and then worrying about my stomach looking enormous and not being in balance. Hopefully I settle down beforehand.

I think being nervous is totally normal, and I wouldn’t too much worry about size as I said before, it really is the perkiness that’s a change!

Also, I think if you are used to a bust anything less than a C is going to be a big leap.

I second that apprehension and nerves are totally normal. I can’t say I am enjoying the fact that my stomach now looks larger than it did in comparison to my bust, but that wouldn’t have stopped me having the op. Once I’m fully healed, I just think about how much freer I’ll feel and I think I’ll be able to exercise more comfortably. So it’s a temporary problem. 🤞🏻

I’m having a week this week where all the reasons as to why I wanted this done are front and centre … no pun intended!!! @Martinisarebetterdirty i think if I were at home I’d be dwelling on it a lot & getting nervous too - if you haven’t already make a list of all the reasons why & things you will look forward to when it’s done/ you are recovered.

And yes what @user80 & @Madagascary said … quite a few of my girlfriends have bigger bellies than me but smaller boobs mean they can dress it better … I just look fat from the sternum down due to how my clothes hang off me …
