I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

So it's 30 degrees I'm pinned up in my big ole bras, getting hot and sweaty and just got both boobs squished in the mammogram plates. Honestly, if that isn't incentive enough ... 😫...

How much longer? August is it. Sorry I keep forgetting. 😃. Summer is a whole new ballgame with small tits.

Singletrackmind · 13/06/2023 19:44

August ….. hanging on in there 😬

MorrisZapp · 16/06/2023 20:21

I've had my quote now, 7,723 quid all in. I'm quite surprised as I expected nearer 10k.

I haven't pushed the button though. It's weird, by day I cannot WAIT to have a BR, and I see slim and perky ladies everywhere. I've even bought a bra in my dream size, what a saddo.

But at night I look at my saggy old boobs and I feel so disloyal for wanting to change them. They're appalling but they're mine. It's like eating the last cold pea on the plate because you feel sorry for it.

But they’ll still be your boobs, they don’t take away everything. It’s recognisably your skin they just take away the fat underneath

MorrisZapp · 16/06/2023 22:17

That's a really helpful way of viewing it, thanks :)

coronafiona · 16/06/2023 22:22

Do you lose sensation in your nipples?

OhNoOhDearOh · 16/06/2023 22:37

@coronafiona i did

Bigtitsbetty · 16/06/2023 23:57

I lost sensation for a while but it’s mostly back now.

I still feel like my boobs are mine but my moles have moved positions!

Summer is definitely easier with smaller boobs, but now I feel that my rolls of abomínalo fat are more noticeable, now I feel as if I need a tummy tuck, still not confident about my shape

Singletrackmind · 17/06/2023 07:38

@MorrisZapp … yeah I get that. I’m doing the same thing. When I get nervous I’m in the ..’ why on earth would I let someone chop up my perfectly healthy body’ frame of mind. But then I remind myself that I’ve wanted this for a very long time. And … it is just the boobs …
as has been said if you’ve got other body issues it isn’t going to fix that.

Bigtitsbetty · 17/06/2023 12:01

I didn’t see it as a healthy body though. I was ok physically but they caused mental issues. As I said before no amount of CBT is going make me accept my breasts when I can’t buy clothes or do exercise (I have been to the gym 3 times since surgery in September 😂)

Looking at possible surgery dates now. I don't smoke but do they ask you to restrict alcohol in the run up to surgery?

Madagascary · 19/06/2023 10:47

No mention

Madagascary · 19/06/2023 10:50

My mum is 85. Has has a digestive thing and is in hospital. Very sore. Can’t put a bra on and said to me she so wished she’d had a reduction as it’s all so difficult.

Those dithering TAKE HEED

user80 · 19/06/2023 11:31

@MorrisZapp My pre-op instructions included no alcohol the night before, but otherwise no mention.
Your poor mum, @Madagascary - hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Singletrackmind · 20/06/2023 22:23

How”s everyone doing … @user80 you must be a few weeks in now, how’s it going? A mutual friend who had a BR recently suggested a couple of Facebook groups on breast reduction …. I’m really don’t do Facebook but wondered if anyone had joined groups/ found them a useful source of info?

user80 · 21/06/2023 19:03

Yep 2 weeks in now @Singletrackmind - saw my surgeon today, all healing well. Have a few small patches that aren’t quite sealed so had some new smaller dressings on those bits which I can take off in a week. Seeing him again in 3 weeks.

Still finding myself completely exhausted by the smallest things! But much more comfortable now the big dressings are off 🙌🏻

I didn’t join any groups - I’m mistrustful of social media in general and find it all a bit overwhelming, so I didn’t bother.

Singletrackmind · 21/06/2023 19:52

Ah well done you! It’s a lot for the body to cope with & I think individual responses to GA vary greatly so you just need to go easy & it sounds like your surgeon is looking after you well!

And yeah I don’t do social media at all - same sense of overwhelm - so should probably just focus on getting all my questions together for the next consult/ preop.

user80 · 21/06/2023 21:13

When is the next one? I had a note on my phone so I could add questions as they occurred to me throughout the day/night, and then I organised it before I had the consult and pre-op appointments.

Madagascary · 22/06/2023 06:14

Same as user. But then often things changed or the question felt stupid 😀

Singletrackmind · 22/06/2023 06:35

Ha… loads of my questions seem a bit stupid 😂.. they must be used to it! 2 weeks to pre op ..!

user80 · 22/06/2023 11:49

It’s getting real!!! I def deleted a lot of my questions along the way 😂

MorrisZapp · 29/06/2023 17:56

I've got a surgery date now!!! 5th September. I've got lofty plans of seeing a personal trainer in the interim to get my abs in better shape for my recovery but we'll see how that goes 😂

Singletrackmind · 29/06/2023 21:36

@MorrisZapp 🙌a date! 8 weeks to achieve a six pack then … loads of time 😉

Madagascary · 30/06/2023 05:29

Funny you mention personal trainers. I had my first session yesterday. Told him of reduction : he was really interested and helpful. I’ve got a good little routine going on including some upper body work. Had one of those body scan things that shows bone density and fat Etc. I’d recommend.
