I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Yes you will. Fab. But do bear in mind that scar from any excision will be red-der. He only excused on my left. Dunno how he lip -Ed on the right. But he did. 😂

Did anyone buy lovely little bras ahead of surgery? I haven't even had my consultation yet (it's next week) but I'm soooo tempted. I've never had nice little bras before <teeny violin>

I had a good browse but didn't buy anything until after surgery as I didn't know size. It was after 3 months that I properly bought nice bras. Although, I've been bra free every so often recently. I could never have worn this kind of top before, let alone bra free!

I didn’t buy for ages.

I’m super excited to buy bras and clothes but putting it off until I know what size. I think it will be even more exciting to be able to try it on / wear it immediately 😁

Ah summer .. dress looks lovely @Madagascary ! So - all my consent forms have arrived and I'm about to make the surgery payment ... phew, bit scary. getting closer!

Wednesday @Singletrackmind ! Having anxiety dreams about it being cancelled 😬 soooo just want it done now. Have read all my pre surgery info again and again and the house and family are all prepped for me being out of action for a bit.
Mostly feeling very very excited and a bit apprehensive.
For those on the other side, could you lift the kettle to make a cup of tea the next day? #priorities

I just saw that there was a programme last week on BBC, so it is on iPlayer now, about big boobs and breast reductions, and they show a woman having one

I’d be interested to know what you think, because one woman reckon she goes from a double-J to AB, but they don’t actually show her chest afterwards

Think that was the channel 4 UNTOLD documentary … I watched it. The surgery bit was brief & the presenter was left questioning her attachment to her big boob body positivity ….!

Yes I agree. She should have signed up! But the images of the flesh they remove was gross but fascinating

I had my consultation today!! In a new build hospital next to the park and ride 😂

Lady surgeon, absolutely immaculate credentials and loads of experience. Not the warmest personality I've ever met but I have the impression she leaves the humaning to the nurses and admin staff.

No discussion whatsoever about cup size but she explained my nipple would be level with my underboob crease.

I. Am. Doing. This. And I've already scoped out beautiful bralettes for the great beyond.

Oh and I can stay in for a night at no extra cost. I don't want to go home when I'm still talking gibberish. She said she uses waterproof dressings so I can shower straight away but I'm not sure how that works as presumably I'll be padded out in extra dressings to begin with.

Told my sister and she thinks I should go for it. She's my closest adviser in life and I am so happy to have her enthusiastic support.

One slightly controversial moment was the lovely receptionist asking if I was self funding, I said yes and she said 'it's always the fun stuff they make you pay for!' I laughed but it wasn't very mumsnet was it? 🤣🤣🤣
