I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

I had a reduction 28 years ago and it is one of the best things I have ever done. I too looked matronly and after childbirth they were pendulous. I went from a 34J to a 34D. The surgeon told me that he could not say a specific size as he wanted to put them in proportion. There was a lot of black marker pens on my collar bones etc. Pain was minimal. Any doctor who has seen them since has said what a great job. They have dropped a little bit over the years but not that much really. I have gone up and down in weight over the years and so do they. Currently am a 36D. Scarring is minimal as the years have gone by.

Welcome people!! Great to hear of all this proactivity. @MorrisZapp I believe in the UK overnight is standard, I certainly wouldn’t want to be out straight away. 10 weeks & counting for me…

Bigtitsbetty · 22/05/2023 15:31

I had my surgery in afternoon, was well enough to sit up and eat some dinner that evening and I went home at lunchtime the next day.

I had drains in but there was nothing in them. They were taken out about two hours before I went home.

I'm so glad to hear that as the drains look so... draining! Think I need to step away from YouTube anyway.

Watched a 45 minute breast reduction vlog today with some tiresome airhead from Utah detailing all her snacks and the TV shows she watched while recovering.

'so anyway you guys I hope that covers everything, leave a question in the comments if I left anything out'

Yeah you left out a before pic, an after pic, and any discussion of size or results. Pointless!

Bigtitsbetty · 22/05/2023 16:50

Don’t get hung up on size because bra sizes vary, people don’t always wear the correct size, and surgeons are experts in surgery not bras.

Thanks Betty for pointing me over to this thread from that recent one...
Reading thru everyone's experiences I have booked a consultation.. for the first time ever. I always think I'll put it off til I have the money... And time.. but that's never going to happen.
Hate louping about with these bags of meat on me slowing down my day. Will be very freeing if I decide to go for it...
So thanks for the thread everyone

I paid with an inheritance but I’d have got a loan otherwise. Most private hospitals tell you about this.

Madagascary · 22/05/2023 17:55

Yes, I posted further down about my surgeon says he take some out ,looks at it take some more out looks again ,asks his assistant whoever that is the nurse person? if that looks like a C and that’s it. It’s really not scientific

My experience was much more detailed than that. He took lots of before pictures with arms in various positions. As I said he also made a mass of markings with felt tip pin. He told me that he has these photos lying alongside me during surgery to try to create as near a natural to me breast. Either that or I am appearing unknown on the internet somewhere 😂😂

Madagascary · 22/05/2023 21:31

Yy. I had the markings. I took a pic and have it hidden on my phone.

Stickykidney · 22/05/2023 22:12

@Bigtitsbetty thanks, yes that whole 'id love to have bigger boobs' reaallly got to me on that thread. Nooooo idea (as I hoick myself to a comfortable position)
6th of June.. will see what they say because I'm not going with the first surgeon if they aren't right and I'm not confident in them (as per advice!) Step in the right direction tho.

An old article from 2012, revel in the casual misogyny as Ulrika Jonsson goes from an E cup to a C cup and her husband gets a 'Ferrari'!!!

Hope those puppies are holding up!

That article! 😱

Singletrackmind · 23/05/2023 13:39

@MorrisZapp haha! You are on the path trawling the tinterweb … I think I’ve literally read everything … including that … pretty sure she decided she needed a second reduction more recently ..?

Madagascary · 25/05/2023 20:25

Bloody hell, though, summer is a whole different beast when you’ve not got massive tits.

I saw the most delightful smocked sun dress in the shops the other day, it will be mine one day! Boob sweat season is upon us, yay...

Madagascary · 26/05/2023 05:58

I never had a boob sweat, but just your choices of what you can wear, and also the lack of self consciousness about every time feeling like your boobs ahoy!

Bigtitsbetty · 26/05/2023 06:24

I’ve bought a top with a frill across the bust. I haven’t worn it yet though because it’s white. I’m not good with white clothes I will definitely drop food down it 😂

OP posts:
user80 · 26/05/2023 07:33

Oh this is so exciting. I can’t wait to be able to buy clothes that actually fit me, I hadn’t thought about frill tops and smock dresses and NO BOOB SWEAT 🙌🏻

Singletrackmind · 26/05/2023 07:53

This ladies this … I remain ridiculously layered despite the heat in my vain attempt to not be seen. Enjoy it… I can’t wait!

Madagascary · 28/05/2023 19:12

Sleeveless stuff. Could never do because of underarm axillary tissue. Now I’m free as a bird (this was additional surgery to my reduction. Extra £1k)

Was this liposuction? Sounds amazing but I've heard it's the most painful bit?

Madagascary · 29/05/2023 00:30

Well I’m asleep during it!
Was it painful afterwards? I’m thinking... Yes I suppose so - bruised feeling and also around my back I suppose. Lasted way longer than the boob discomfort but I was back at work in 2 weeks .
He did a skin excision and that scar is taking longer to fade.
but here I am 6 months on finding it hard to remember … so that’s good.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 29/05/2023 08:16

That’s brilliant @Madagascary . I’m all booked in for 1 August! My surgeon does the liposuction bit as part of his reduction (included in my expensive quote 😁). We’re off to Greece at the end of September and I’m told I will be fine to be in the sea! I’m now making sure I’m as healthy as possible (meaning I am trying to lose some weight) beforehand. I’m getting excited and have pre bought a slinky sundress that my boobs fall out of now but my new ones won’t!

Smallerboobs · 29/05/2023 10:38

I have been watching this thread and enjoying all of the updates, @Bigtitsbetty thank you for starting it.

I had my surgery on Wednesday, down from a 32H to (hopefully) a 32DD - as we know, good surgeons won’t promise and exact cup size but will look at pictures you show them and talk to you about the size you want to achieve :).

While I was under the anaesthetic I took the opportunity to sort out my tummy - two caesarians, a hysterectomy for cancer, removed of pelvic lymphnodes and menopause have all taken their toll.

I am swollen and sore but already seeing and feeling the impact of smaller boobs and really looking forward to the summer weather without the sweatiness.
