I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

Slight news, still trying to find a bra that fits me toying between 34c/ 32d but I’m not sure either is right.

Had my first experience of something that looked too big tonight, found an old top that just looked enormous, up to now my previous experience is that tops aren’t too big they just hang better.

anonymouse · 15/01/2023 08:44

Same as pp, no real pain. I think the worst was when the drains we taken out and it wasn't even that bad. Barely took painkillers when I came home. I did take arnica tablets to just help with swelling and any potential bruising.

I've found button up shirts to be too big but generally most other clothes just hang better and give me a much nicer silhouette.

Madagascary · 15/01/2023 19:40

Ooh. How many days are you now @anonymouse

Madagascary · 15/01/2023 19:42

I wonder if I took pain killers longer (OTC) because of my lipo

Madagascary · 17/01/2023 22:18

Saw the doctor today for my eight week check up, obviously slightly delayed by Christmas, and he’s really pleased. The scars are still a bit bumpy because he says the stitches are still there and I’m still swollen. (He says clearly under the armpits from the Lipo and generally.)

He wants to see me again in April which will be five months.

anonymouse · 18/01/2023 17:32

Oh that's interesting about the swelling. It does down so much in the first few weeks, I kinda assumed this would be it (even though my surgeon has said 3 months to really tell- slow setting jellies he described them). I'm 5 weeks. I've got my 6 week check next week so we'll see what he says.

Madagascary · 19/01/2023 21:31

I also found out how they do it. He said they take some out then they staple the boobs back together and decide whether it looks like a cup you’ve asked for. It’s really that vague But skilled I suppose !

Mincespi · 24/01/2023 17:28

Can I ask those of you who’ve had the reduction, how has your sleep been during recovery?
Am dreading sleeping slightly upright on my back in the coming weeks.

Bigtitsbetty · 24/01/2023 17:40

I’m a front sleeper so was dreading it but I adapted quite quickly. DH was sent to the spare room because I needed lots of pillows. I basically wedged myself in. Pillows behind, to the side and under the top of my thighs so I didn’t slip down the bed.

The best thing to help was a memory foam travel pillow. I rested my chin on it when I was asleep for neck support.

It is a bit of a pain tbh. I could only sleep on my side after a month.

Madagascary · 24/01/2023 17:52

I was just at a tilt. Not bolt upright. As if you’re reading in bed.

Mincespi · 25/01/2023 09:53

It’s the one thing I’m dreading.
Ive got a V shaped pillow so I’m propped up.
Im sure I’ll get used to it at some point when knackered lol.

SnakeOiler · 25/01/2023 18:42

I had a tummy tuck at the same time and slept propped with a v pillow, pillows under my arms as otherwise they were too low and a pillow under my knees to help my tummy. It was only for about a week and I would wake finding myself half on my side.

Madagascary · 29/01/2023 08:57

9 weeks post op.
My scars healing but I find come and go. Maybe it’s my perception. The underarm one from lipo worse because obvious.
still love the comfort.

Aware I need to watch weight on my stomach now because proportions different

when do you all notice it the most? I find washing my underarms is WOAH every time.

Bigtitsbetty · 30/01/2023 19:52

I notice it most when I’m eating and drop food into my lap not my bust.
Also it’s easier to put on deodorant and shave my armpits. I don’t have to lift my breasts out of the way.

Swaggering around in no bra with pyjamas. And no wobble.

Bigtitsbetty · 02/02/2023 22:16

Running down the stairs without holding on to your boobs…

Best thing I ever did. I had mine in November last year went from a G to a C cup. I sometimes wish I’d gone to a B instead, I’m frightened they will grow big again.

Touty · 03/02/2023 05:47

Now I can see my belly which feels too big. I asked about liposuction but surgeon said I have too much fat and skin and so it would have to be a tummy tuck.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 03/02/2023 08:51

Ladies I am so jealous and so pleased for you all! I have started operation get fit before surgery so that when I have saved up and booked in I recover more quickly. I had a hysterectomy a couple of years ago and it took me ages to get back to doing any exercise afterwards so I’m going to go into this fully prepared. It’s so inspiring hearing your progress.

Singletrackmind · 03/02/2023 13:37

Enjoying these updates! Very happy to have my own now 😀Surgery is booked for Sept … yay! - earliest I could do to take account of various booked activities/ getting time out etc. Feels good to be on the path now.

Oh I’m glad you’re sorted.

Singletrackmind · 06/02/2023 09:03

@SnakeOiler I'd like a tummy tuck and boob reduction at the same time - can I ask what you paid and what the BMI criteria were? I'm a couple of years of saving up away from going for it but would be great to hear from someone who has been through it! Thanks :)

I paid £12,200 but this was 6 years ago now so I’d expect it to be closer to 18k by the time you’re ready. It is cheaper to combine the two procedures and only one recovery. The BR was easy so worth tagging onto a TT.

I have a healthy BMI so it wasn’t even considered so I’m afraid I can’t help you with that. Ultimately if I were you I would aim to be at my goal weight as you don’t lose weight with the surgery really. Skin and boobs don’t weigh as much as you think!

get to your goal weight asap and stay there. The last thing you want is getting there 2 weeks before surgery, going back to old habits and piling it back on again and ruining your results. I had some weight gain after a different surgery and they’d cut out stretch marks and then the buggers came back!
