I had a breast reduction two weeks ago. I’ve gone from a 34GG/H to a 34D.

Crack on with any questions!

Just got a brand-new swimming costume cost 18 quid in a normal size no under-wiring, no padding, straps

im sure I’ll save the ££ back 😀😀

Bigtitsbetty · 09/02/2023 20:36

I am still buying wired stuff. I don’t need it, just habit! 🤣

@Bigtitsbetty after years of not liking anything ever in a kind of double D plus size, I’m finding there’s loads of really nice stuff in the shops

@SandraTeaspoon There is a Scottish surgeon called Ben Chew who I have my eye on ( despite living in London). He has rave reviews on Real Self.

@SandraTeaspoon @Nameneeded
I went to him! He is amazing. I picked him because of his reviews and he certainly lived up to them. He is an NHS plastic surgeon specialising in mastectomy - most for breast cancer patients. He told me he does cosmetic to achieve balance. He was very reassuring and quietly confident. I would recommend the Nuffield in Glasgow too, lovely staff - all of them.

All in all one of the best things I ever did and I am now 5 years on.

Madagascary · 18/02/2023 08:06

To be honest, I haven’t seen a bad review on real self, can the surgeons edit them? 😀

Mincespi · 19/02/2023 23:12

Hi guys, I’m two weeks off surgery now.
just another question, about nipple sensitivity, does it feel normal quite quickly. I’ve read online about women’s either being numb or painfully sensitive for a while. Can’t wait now for it to be done!

Madagascary · 20/02/2023 06:23

Mines fine. That’s not very helpful?!
have you got bras and old style pyjamas?

very exciting!!

Ratatatatatouille · 20/02/2023 07:09

Mine were completely numb and are now except I can feel pain like if the shower hits wrong when I’m due on. I was told to expect complete numbness

Bigtitsbetty · 20/02/2023 11:07

Mine are still lacking in sensitivity a bit. I’m five months in now.

Ladies, how’s the exercise going? I think@Bigtitsbetty you were back running. Does it feel ok/ better?

Madagascary · 20/02/2023 21:10

Back at body pump and spin. Back to pre op weights. Feel great!

Bigtitsbetty · 20/02/2023 21:11

@Singletrackmind i ran 5km earlier today which was great. I don’t think about my boobs when exercising at all!

Ah amazing, loving hearing this from you [both]! Random thing … did the people you know reasonably well but hadn’t told about the op notice or comment on the difference? I’m basically telling no one about it so not sure what the reactions might be 🤷‍♀️

Singletrackmind · 21/02/2023 07:58

… not that I care … but you know!

You’ll be so surprised who doesn’t notice. (All my colleagues!).
family and mates def did

Madagascary · 21/02/2023 14:23

It makes you look so slim too !!

Singletrackmind · 21/02/2023 14:29

@Madagascary 😀am kinda wishing I’d scheduled for earlier now as 6 months seems a bit of a wait … but actually I just need to be chilled about it now …

Madagascary · 21/02/2023 14:38

Why are you?

Bigtitsbetty · 21/02/2023 14:53

@Singletrackmind people thought I’d lost weight but I think I’d told everyone anyway.

I’ve booked my consultation in, so excited. Earliest date was late April which I couldn’t make so going mid May. I figure that gives me time to get a stone off and be healthier so they can make better judgements as to what the outcome might be too.
Also just to say that you are all inspirational and have given me the courage to do this! Thank you

Madagascary · 21/02/2023 17:57

It’s all down to Betty.

I was just saying to my husband that sometimes I get cross that I’ve got so used to them so quickly

Singletrackmind · 21/02/2023 21:31

@Madagascary good question! Basically work commitments/ booked holidays which need me to be at my fittest so Sept is the earliest I can get the time off work & downtime to recover properly. It’s all good.
And it’s still massively helpful to hear your progress & how much you are loving the change - being used to them already is exactly where I would want to be!
… yay for Betty’s thread.

Bigtitsbetty · 21/02/2023 23:03

Go me! I’m really pleased that this thread has kept going. I would’ve loved the advice before my surgery. I’m glad people are finding it helpful and supportive.

September was a great time for surgery for me. I didn’t have to buy lots of new clothes straight away because it’s mostly jumpers over the Autumn/winter so I could wear my existing clothes. It’s only now that I’ve been buying newer clothes ready for spring. I’ve been buying at least two sizes smaller.

I have my ‘six’ month follow up tomorrow so I’ll update then.

I bought myself some lovely gold necklaces to celebrate

Singletrackmind · 22/02/2023 08:15
