@bsc but why so consistently Tuesdays? I’m not curious about why they close one day a week, but why it’s always, everywhere Tuesdays.

managedmis · 27/01/2020 20:25

Guess she got an order

Sagradafamiliar · 27/01/2020 20:26

Some Chinese takeaways round here open on a Tuesday, I bet they get a lot of custom because the others are shut. Hairdressers are closed one day midweek as well.

MrsAgassi · 27/01/2020 20:27

What sauce do they use to make chow mein? Mine never tastes as good when I make it at home.

NoMilk · 27/01/2020 20:29
Crown Wink
thenightsky · 27/01/2020 20:31

I was told they all close on a Tuesday round here because that's the day they all go to Nottingham for the casinos.

PlumsGalore · 27/01/2020 20:32

I think the OP has had a rush of orders now and is busy.

Redshoeblueshoe · 27/01/2020 20:36

Yeah I bet everyone is reading this and thinking I just fancy some salt and pepper spare ribs, or something equally delicious Star

Skyejuly · 27/01/2020 20:36

Ours is closed Monday's.

bakedbeanzontoast · 27/01/2020 20:38

Do you get many folk ordering the English dishes like chicken Maryland? How do they do the chips as I always find them a bit different at the Chinese.

MissConductUS · 27/01/2020 20:39

Now I have the craving for Mongolian beef. Fortunately it's easy to make in my instant pot.

Thelnebriati · 27/01/2020 20:39

They close midweek because they are open Saturday and Sunday.

EssentialHummus · 27/01/2020 20:44

Justajot google “silking beef” (or whatever meat), it may be that.

loutypips · 27/01/2020 20:45

Are the sauces brought in or made from scratch?

momtoboys · 27/01/2020 20:47

MissConductUS - I would love that recipe!

wibblysnail · 27/01/2020 20:50

Every time I've been in chinese take away = very stereotyped accent.

The person who served me in the Chinese takeaway the other day had a very stereotypical accent but then she was from the Black Country.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 27/01/2020 20:50

I get that you need time off, I’m not disputing that but why Tuesdays?

Around here they are all closed on Mondays.... so now I’m craving some beef in black bean sauce and there’s nowhere to get it!

thenightsky · 27/01/2020 20:56

I really want a big bowl of chicken fried rice now. Trouble is its an hour's round trip to my nearest take away Sad

Kwkwjwkek · 27/01/2020 20:58

What’s your most popular order?

MissConductUS · 27/01/2020 21:02

@momtoboys this is the recipe I use:

theblondcook.com/instant-pot-mongolian-beef/

I usually throw in some additional veg - bell peppers, onion, etc. It's very easy to substitute chicken. Apologies if there are any US measures you have to convert.

My kids love it. Smile

user764329056 · 27/01/2020 21:02

OP please send me special friend rice and spare ribs, supposed to be eating healthily and my mouth is watering

Schuyler · 27/01/2020 21:13

Which part of the country are you in and now much is a main dish? I love Chinese food but around here, it’s not cheap.

Fredastaireatemyjamsandwich · 27/01/2020 21:17

What’s that powdery brown stuff they put on top of the fried seaweed? It’s gorgeous.

cuckooken · 27/01/2020 21:17

Seriously?? Does anyone actually believe you can catch coronavirus by eating Chinese takeaway?

No. But people are aware the risk is higher if any of the problem who work there have been to China recently, which would not be particularly odd.
