Do you judge other very overweight people? I'm about 3 stone overweight (dieting now and have lost a stone so far) and it's made me more judgy than less.

BuildBuildings · 09/09/2019 19:27

@NcHere that's interesting on keitos. Also I'm absolutely terrified of the operation!

itsbetterthanabox · 09/09/2019 19:32

I'm similarly overweight.
What's your plan when you finish the VLCD? I've not done one due to risk of yoyoing.

itsbetterthanabox · 09/09/2019 19:33

@Monday55 why do you assume strangers are calling her fat?

OwnerofanAngryCat · 09/09/2019 19:39

How much did you spend on food?
What did you think when you saw slim women? Envy, admiration, didn't really notice other women's sizes? Has this changed since you started losing weight?

gluteustothemaximus · 09/09/2019 19:41

I'd be very worried being on 800 calories. It's not something recommended long term.

www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/very-low-calorie-diets/

If there's any way you feel you can try eating more and exercising more, it will be better for you. Slower, but more likely to be able to stick and succeed.

Best form of exercise is weight based, as the more muscle you build, the more fat you will burn.

Congratulations on the 2 stone weight loss, that's amazing. But please don't restrict your calories long term. Weight loss faster will also result in loose skin.

Very best of luck x

BayandBlonde · 09/09/2019 19:42

@gluteustothemaximus

Firstly well done!

Can I ask, your currently in Ketosis. Is that still on 800 calls a day?

What does your daily food diary look like?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 09/09/2019 19:44

Well done op!

saffy1234 · 09/09/2019 19:44

Well done for losing 2 stone, keep going Smile

IDontDrinkTea · 09/09/2019 19:46

What’s the main food item you’re missing whilst you’ve been dieting?

NcHere · 09/09/2019 19:54

Monday a stranger has never called me fat.

VLCDs are actually promoted by GPs and pharmacies. You can buy the products in them.
My GP suggested a VLCD and they do this to most people about to go weightloss surgery to shrink their livers.

I'll be doing Exante for 6 months.

Then I will figure out the next part of my journey.

I can't honestly say what I will do or how I will handle not gaining as being a healthy weight and need to maintain is not something I've ever done before so it's going to be trial and error.

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 19:59

Bay, yes.

I have 3 x 200cal exante products. And a 200cal meal which is usually white fish or chicken with lots of green veg and salad.

Also I drink 3 litres of water a day.

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 20:01

Owner, I did spend a lot on food. But I don't drink, smoke, socialise, drive, go out with mates etc... So I felt I had the money. It didn't take from anything else iykwim?

I never get jealous of slim women. I genuinely don't.

I'm more jealous of heavy ladies who manage to have a beautiful hour glass figure and not just be saggy and lumpy like me 😂

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 20:03

And I appreciate your concern that a long term VLCD may not be the best option... But neither is long term obesity.

I'll choose my poison.

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 20:04

It's better, I may end up yoyoing a bit. A stone or so but I know I will never get to this size again. EVER.

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 20:27

Bucking. Interesting question.

I guess in a way I do. If they have impaired mobility, I wonder how did they get that far into that rabbit hole?

But I'm over halfway there myself. Confused

clucky3 · 09/09/2019 20:49

Without sounding nasty, what on earth were you eating to get so big?

This does sound nasty. Well done on your weight loss OP. I am in a similar boat, have about 7 stone to lose. Lost 1.5 stone quickly on VCLD but am really struggling to stick to it for the last month or so while the kids have been off. How do you stay motivated?

AnneWeber · 09/09/2019 20:53

It does sound nasty

NcHere · 09/09/2019 21:06

I don't know clucky. I just think 'this is my food now' and try and focus on that.

I am going out in 2 months for a meal so I focus on that too and the thought I could be another 2 stone lighter by then if I put the effort in now.

OP posts:
BuildBuildings · 09/09/2019 21:12

@Monday55 that's a really odd question. Why would you assume people go around calling op fat?

NcHere · 09/09/2019 21:22

The only people that have ever called me fat are my kids when very young "mummy, why do you have a fat belly?"
Trolls on the Internet.
And my vile sister who I am NC with now.

OP posts:
AmICrazyorWhat2 · 09/09/2019 21:37

That's amazing, well done OP!

You've clearly motivated yourself to become healthier, but do you have any advice on how to support/encourage a relative to lose weight? Or do they simply need to find their own motivation and everyone else should butt out?

DH's sister (early 40's) was strongly advised to lose weight after a medical emergency last year, but not much has changed.
No one knows what (if anything) to do/say and it's likely that we'll lose her early if she doesn't take action. I'm thinking there's nothing anyone can do, it's her decision. Sad

NcHere · 09/09/2019 21:40

I don't think there is.

Like I said earlier, you have to be ready.

I know I'm fat. I knew 5 years ago.

I've experienced embarrassing situations. Broken chairs. Refusal on rides.
Non of it did anything but make me eat more out of sadness because I wasn't ready.

Could you do something proactive like invite her to join the gym with you?

I don't think telling her will do any good. She's been told by doctors. She already knows.

It's just such a hard step to take.
