Well done on losing 2 stone

phoebewallyfridge · 09/09/2019 16:24

What's your motivation to lose weight?

NcHere · 09/09/2019 16:26

Thankyou Pho :)

I booked my first ever holiday abroad and I want to enjoy myself.

Plus I'm just fed up of being a fat fook in general.

Thanks coco.

It's so tiring isn't it? Emotionally and physically.

How are you losing it?

S021 · 09/09/2019 16:55

Do you feel any different having lost 2 stone? Is it easier to get around etc?

edgen2019 · 09/09/2019 17:02

NcHere - congratulations that is quite an achievement. I have lost four stone over the last year and managing (at the moment) to keep it off!

BuildBuildings · 09/09/2019 17:07

Hi I have a few! Similar situation for me. I've lost about 1.5. I'm on the pathway to have bariatric surgery. I have a few health issues which make weight loss difficult but I'm crawling along. I've never felt terrible about my size but I feel like society (and mumsnet) views me as awful for being fat. Do you find the same? Im 34 how old are you? Have you considered weight loss surgery?

BuildBuildings · 09/09/2019 17:07

Sorry also well done on the weight loss.

KennDodd · 09/09/2019 17:08

How old are you? Have you always been fat or how did it happen?

Well done with the weight loss, where's the holiday?

NcHere · 09/09/2019 17:17

I'm doing a VLCD. SO 800 calories a day.

I dont feel different at all.

Though I recently bought some weights and was shocked when I picked up 6kgand realised what I'm carrying around with me!

No wonder I get out of puff.

I'm 34 too and I haven't considered surgery as, simply put. I can't afford it.

I was a chubby child. Around a 14 in my teenage years. I lost weight after high-school and was quite slim until I had my first child at 22.

After that I had another 2 children and gained alot in each pregnancy and never lost it in between.

I was then in a relationship for a few years with someone who encouraged poor food habits.

Together we sat and ate ourselves up to the tune of 4 stone each.

We are no longer together and I am trying to get rid of all of it.

Similar from me. I've been told by the doctors to loose it now for health reasons.

How old are you? Do you have loose skin?

NcHere · 09/09/2019 17:19

So to be clear I've always hovered at around 13/14 stone my whole 20s.
Then in my early 30s I gained another 4stone through sadness, loneliness, using food as comfort and not getting out of the house.

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 17:20

I have an extreme overhang. My skin on my thighs and bingo wings is OK.

I'm hoping they won't be too bad when I hit my target but I don't hold much hope for my stomach.

I think my future will be tucking my tummy skin into spanx knickers.

Well done @NcHere. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting this journey?

did you use MyFitnessPal?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/09/2019 17:22

I’m same height and 16 stone ish. I’ve never been smaller than a size 16, never bigger than an 18. So I think I can’t stay motivated to lose weight because i’ve never known any different and am not unhappy. Is the holiday your ultimate aim - what size are you aiming for? How will you stay motivated after your holiday? I lost a load of weight for my wedding but was still a slim 16/large 14. Felt great but can’t replicate that once in a lifetime motivation!

Wiltshirelass2019 · 09/09/2019 17:23

Well done on your weight loss do far! Do you find you get very hot?

edgen2019 · 09/09/2019 17:23

At least your weight is going in the right direction, just believe in yourself, go for it, you can do it.

Dirtyjellycat · 09/09/2019 17:24

Well done OP. I keep losing and gaining the same 1.5 stones but I’ve got a bit of momentum now so I hope I’ll be at the two stone mark soon too.

How quickly is the weight coming off at 800 cal per day? I have quite a few friends who have done a VLCD at 500 per day ask they lost a stone per month. Is it much slower?

EvenPhilip · 09/09/2019 17:28

I don't think I've got any questions.
It was awful to read about you gaining 4 stone through sadness😢 i just wanted to say well done on the weight loss so far.
I sincerely wish you all the best with the rest of your plan, I hope we can have a before and after when you reach your target. You sound very determined and I think you could be quite inspirational..

NcHere · 09/09/2019 17:28

I don't use my fitness pal.

I just stick to my VLCD products and am trying to do some light exercise.
My knees are pretty fucked if I try to run or squat. so I don't like anything high energy so I'm doing light weight training.

I'm aiming to be 10 stone.

My holiday is my main aim. Yes. But in general I just want to feel better.

I want to enjoy clothes again.
Take the guilt out of food.
Find a new outlet for my stress.

I really couldn't give nay advice as I've been fat for over a decade.

I think when it's time it just clicks and I don't think that can be forced.

I've tried so many times and failed.

This time I just KNOW I will do it because I don't have any other choice.

I get very hot. I never have a coat on. At most a car do.

OP posts:
NcHere · 09/09/2019 17:31

It's a stone a month roughly.

From 11th August I've lost 15lbs. I lost the other stone beforehand.

NcHere · 09/09/2019 17:34

Surgery hasn't been an option in my head as I could never go private (I'm on benefits due to long term illness)

And I guess I was in denial.

Like I wasn't fat enough to qualify on the NHS, I was, but my head was in the sand about it.

I went to the GP a few times and never really go help.
