I love this ama too and would love to know more about your therapy op because I would love your attitude
glintandglide It was very intensive CBT, all about changing how you see the world around you and the people you interact with. It made me see everything in an entirely different light.
did you find out about the pickles?
cameltoeflappyflapflap Apologies, not yet! I went to a horse show with a friend after work, hence my late replies
Have you had any really bad customers?
crazycatgal Doesn’t everywhere?
Do you work in the PR department? Every reply is suspiciously glowing.
Growingboys No, I’m just a positive person. Being happy in my job and with my life is the most important thing to me, and I would miss my customer interaction too much to be stuck in an office somewhere!
Fair play, OP. I could do with being a bit more like you so would appreciate some of your therapy tips!
FletcherRye Sure! One of the biggest ones is not assuming the worst of everyone, appreciating that people have bad days and experiences which change how they see the world. A positive person around them can help alter any negative perceptions. Another big one is taking each day as it comes - if something bad happens, don’t panic! That doesn’t help, so take a few deep breaths and think how you can solve it.
Also, making mistakes is how we learn, so it’s okay for people to mess up.
What's the negative of role and how do you deal with lazy staff or turning up hungover.
forgivenminds Not having set shifts is probably the only negative, but even that’s not a big one and can be turned into a positive as every day is different.
We do not allow crew to work if they are still drunk. If they are not drunk but hungover they are expected to be work exactly as they always would.
We don’t really have any lazy crew, but great training and corrective coaching helps with that.
Why is there not a large flat white?
OH likes a large meal but the flat white is always the same size as normal still. Are we charged the same for a large upgrade ?
FoofFighter The whole point of a flat white is that it’s small, similarly with espressos; you don’t have a large one. It’s meant to be a small, strong coffee. There is only one size for the flat white, so if you get a large meal you won’t get a larger size and will be charged for a large meal.
It is still cheaper than if you bought all items separately.
Why don't you sell herbal teas?
MrsMoastyToasty No demand; I’ve never been asked for one, ever.
What do you earn per year?
How many hours do you work per week?
How many weeks do you have of annual leave?
RideOn I don’t want to disclose my earnings, but I work roughly 40 hours a week and get 5 weeks holiday.
