Just for a bit of entertainment as I'm not doing much today. Ask away

Don't you have a telly?

JustDoOne · 24/07/2018 15:33

I have 5. The telly remarks got old very quickly.

Confidenceknocked · 24/07/2018 15:33

Have you and your partner always wanted a large family?

Sarcy · 24/07/2018 15:35

*How do you manage with the logistics? I have two and find school runs, after school clubs, play dates, birthday parties, etc, a hard enough. If I had even more more DC they I think I'd go insane!

Also - the expense! With six you must drive a tank and any day out (bar a picnic in the park), must be ruinous. Are you well off, or just happy to make do with simple pleasures?*
It can be a bit difficult, all the kids have lots of activities that they go to. I have a diary simply for what everyone is doing and when they're doing it. I drive a galaxy ford (i saw someone else ask this so i thought i would answer it here). I wouldn't say we're well off, fairly comfortable with a few sacrafices made. We mostly do cheap day outs, like park picnics, swimming, things like that. But day outs that might cost £5 per person do add up quickly

"You've got your hands full!"
"Were they all planned?"
"Do you have a tv?"
"Are they all yours?!"

Just some examples of what people say every time we go anywhere.

Shampooeeee · 24/07/2018 15:37

An odd woman, well known in our town, once told me I should have kept my fucking legs shut on the bus.
She had every right to say something if you were procreating on the bus.

NutElla5x · 24/07/2018 15:39

Yes so do I justdoone.I still managed not to get grumpy about a wee jokey comment, even if I did here it a million times, though.

Annabelle4 · 24/07/2018 15:39

What sexes and what order are they?

When do you start your Christmas shopping? (I know a mum of 5 who does it all year)

NutElla5x · 24/07/2018 15:41

Are they all full siblings? And how do they get on together?

Anothergoodday · 24/07/2018 15:41

Shampooeeee - ha ha 😁

Eeeeek2 · 24/07/2018 15:48

Do you find pregnancy easy?

How do you find ways to entertain such a range of ages at the same time?

JustDoOne · 24/07/2018 15:48

Do pardon me Ella. It was hilarious.

cupcakesandglitter · 24/07/2018 15:49

@Shampooeeee 😂😂😂

Sarcy · 24/07/2018 15:54

The order is girl 13, boy 12, girl 10, boy 8, girl 5 and girl 2. They're all full siblings and get on well, there's still arguments of course but they're resolved quickly most the time

I am a mum of 5 who christmas shops all year.
Start in jan sales and just keep picking up bargains all year .

Annabelle4 · 24/07/2018 15:56

Are you planning any more?

Sarcy · 24/07/2018 15:59

I usually get a few things over the year but start seriously thinking about christmas shopping around September

No, there's not enough space or enough money to move plus we're having with 6

I always wanted a large family when I was younger but have not carried it through for various reasons. I hope this next question doesnt offend you but it’s been at the forefront of my mind. Do you feel any concern regarding the worlds over population? If so, do you make any lifestyle changes to somewhat offset the environmental implications of having a large family.

keyboardjellyfish · 24/07/2018 16:16

OP do you have a youtube channel? Because if so I watch your videos!

Sarcy · 24/07/2018 16:16

@AvtarRamKaur I know the feeling, it does get a bit overwhelming sometimes. I feel very knew to doing school runs, discos, projects. I've had a lot of questions from other parents and teachers when they realise I have 4 other kids who don't go to the school. I do wish I had a bigger house sometimes but we make it work quite well. We're used to stepping on eachother's toes Grin

LostMyBaubles · 24/07/2018 17:20

Sleeping arrangements in a 3 bed for 8 of you?? How do you do it

It's not permanent but this is the arrangement at the moment. Youngest is in the smallest bedroom (which was once mine and DH's room), then we have two bigger bedrooms, the two boys are in one and three of the girls are in the other. DH and I sleep downstairs on sofa bed
