Lovense Tenera 2 review: a high-tech clit sucker with a price to match

This particular toy promises an advanced experience with deep, rumbly and customisable vibrations alongside smart app connectivity. But at over £100, is it really worth the splurge?

My rating:
What I like
  • Excellent app control for full customisation

  • Remote play available

  • Unlike other suction-only toys, this combines air pulses with vibration

  • Made with premium, body-safe silicone that feels high-end

  • Waterproof and safe for use in the bath or shower

  • Discreet at just 43dB

What I don’t like
  • It’s pricey at over £200, so a serious investment

  • The suction isn’t the strongest

  • App features feel slightly gimmicky

  • Vibration doesn’t directly touch the clit, it surrounds rather than targets

My verdict

Full transparency: I wanted to love the Lovense Tenera 2, and in many ways, I really do. Despite its large price tag, this cool piece of sex tech is a well-designed, feature-packed vibrator that delivers deep vibrations alongside gentle-to-moderate suction.

The app functionality with the Lovense Remote app is second to none, making it ideal for long-distance play with your DH (or a random stranger, if that tickles your fancy).

What sets the Tenera 2 apart is its versatility. You’re not locked into a handful of present modes—so if you’re the type who likes to tweak and experiment, this toy gives you endless ways to do so. The app is hands-down the best on the market for connectivity, rivalling the likes of We Vibe’s tech. You can sync your toy to music, create custom patterns (and upload them for others to enjoy?), or hand control to your partner miles away.

But while the smart features are impressive, they’re not essential for everyone… Including me, I’m afraid. If you just want a simple, no-fuss clit suction toy, you might find the extra cost of the Tenera 2 unnecessary.

The biggest drawback for me is that while the vibrations are strong and rumbly, they don’t directly target the clitoris in the way some other clit suckers do. Instead, they surround it, which creates a unique but slightly diffuse sensation. It’s still pleasurable, but if you rely on pinpoint stimulation to get off quickly, this might not be your perfect match.

The music syncing feature was also a little disappointing. I tried out three songs: Kings of Leon’s Closer, Lady Gaga’s Abracadaba and even Elvis’ Hound Dog. And while all three are very different in sound, they all feel the same via vibrations it seems.

Regardless, for those who enjoy longer build-ups and a tech-driven experience, the Tenera 2 is an excellent choice. But if you want a toy that delivers intense, direct clit suction without the bells and whistles, the Womanizer Pro40 or Satisfyer Pro 2 will suit you better.

With an RRP of £219 (although you can find deals on Amazon at times), it’s an investment—but for the right person, it’s one that will pay off in orgasmic dividends.

How I’ve tested the Lovense Tenera 2

After testing dozens of vibrators over the past year, I know that the best ones fit seamlessly into your solo sessions, require little faff, and most importantly—get the job done.

I tested the Lovense Tenera 2 alone, during foreplay with my partner, and even while he was away for work to see if the long-distance features lived up to the hype.

I haven’t, however, tested the app’s roulette feature which allows you to have a random Lovense user connect with you to control your device. Nope, there’s lots I’ll do for the purpose of testing but letting an anonymous person control my sex toy goes a little too far…

Regardless, without the app, the Lovense Tenera 2 is still a solid toy. Over the last few months, I’ve tested the suction strength, vibration depth, battery life, and overall ease of use, comparing it to the Satisfyer Pro 2 and othe toys from Womanizer and We Vibe to see how it stacked up.

Packaging and what’s in the box?

The Lovense Tenera 2 arrived at my door in discreet packaging—no obvious branding to give the game away so my postie wouldn’t cotton on.

Inside the toy’s smallish packaging, you’ll find the toy itself, a magnetic USB charging cable and a user manual.

There’s also a storage pouch, which I was glad to find as I’d expect one given its price tag.

How easy is it to set up?

As easy as you’d expect from a toy this sophisticated. A full charge takes around 70 minutes, which is fairly standard for a rechargeable toy I’ve found.

The Lovense app setup is straightforward, too: all you need to do is download the app, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and connect the toy. The device needs to be turned on for this to work, though.

Within minutes, I had full control over the settings and could start exploring the different patterns and customisation options.

The colours complement each other, but for the price I’d want to have another design option

How does the Lovense Tenera 2 look?

The Tenera 2 is sleek and well-crafted, with a curved handle that makes positioning easy. It’s not much different from other toys I’ve tested, like the Womanizer Pro40 and Satisfyer Pro 2, but it is a lot softer than those two thanks to its silicone design.

The ombre pink-to-blue colour is a nice aesthetic touch, although at over £200, I’d want the choice of different colours.

Is it suitable for sensitive clits?

If you find some suction toys too intense, the Tenera 2 is a great alternative. The air pulses are more dispersed, meaning it doesn’t have the pin-pointed suction of the Womanizer Pro40. Plus, customisation is much more powerful with this toy so you can really build-up slowly so as not to overload your nerve endings.

However, if you crave powerful, direct stimulation, this might not be the best choice. In that instance, I’d recommend looking at a wand vibrator.

How noisy is the Lovense Tenera 2?

At a max volume of 43dB, this is one of the quieter clit suction toys I’ve used. It’s barely noticeable under a duvet, making it ideal for those who need discretion. In fact, at 43dB, it’s only a little louder than heavy rain outside.

Thanks to it’s medical-grade silicone design, the Lovense Tenera 2 is easy to clean

How easy is the Lovense Tenera 2 to clean?

As expected, it’s fully waterproof, so I cleaned it under running water with mild soap.

Lovense suggests turning it on in water for a self-cleaning effect, which is a neat feature and makes clean-up more effective.

What lube should you use with this toy?

Stick to a good-quality water-based lube, as silicone-based lubes can degrade the toy’s material. A tiny bit around the suction opening can help create a better seal.

You can elevate your experience with this toy by using the Lovense Remote app or easily control the device via the control buttons

Who is the Lovense Tenera 2 most suited for?

If you’re considering the Lovense Tenera 2, it’s important to know whether it aligns with your personal preferences and needs - especially before you splurge. In my opinion, this toy is best suited for:

People who love a mix of suction and vibration

If you enjoy deep, rumbly vibrations alongside the gentle-to-moderate suction of air pulse technology, the Tenera 2 delivers both. Unlike suction-only toys, this offers a layered sensation that some find more satisfying.

Long-distance couples who want an interactive toy.

The Lovense app is hands-down the best for remote-controlled play, allowing a partner to control the toy from anywhere in the world. If your sex life involves long periods of separation, this toy can help keep the intimacy alive in creative and exciting ways.

Those who prefer rumbly vibrations over intense suction.

The suction on the Tenera 2 is pleasurable but not the most powerful on the market, unfortunately. With that said, if you find a Womanizer too intense or overwhelming, this toy offers a gentler, more dispersed sensation while still delivering satisfying stimulation.

Tech-lovers who enjoy customisation

If you love experimenting with settings, patterns, and different ways to play, the Tenera 2 gives you full control via the app. You can create and save your own vibration patterns, sync the toy to music, or explore pre-programmed sequences designed by other users (a little weird IMO). The options are nearly endless, making this a great choice for those who like to tailor their pleasure.

How it compares to other clitoral vibrators

  • Satisfyer Pro 2 – This is a cheaper toy with stronger suction, but lacks vibration and app control like the Lovense Tenera 2.

  • We-Vibe Melt – More powerful air pulses but no vibration, so you can lose your momentum if you slip.

  • Womanizer Pro40 – This one’s great for suction strength, but comes with no app features.

My testing criteria

Power and intensity: 4/5

  • The vibrations are deep and rumbly, and the suction is pleasant, but if you crave intense, pinpointed suction, other toys might be better.

Noise level: 5/5

  • At a maximum of 43dB, this is one of the quietest suction toys I’ve tested.

  • It’s discreet enough that you don’t have to worry about waking up housemates or partners.

Battery and charging performance: 4/5

  • With just over an hour of runtime and a 70-minute charge time, the battery life is solid, though not exceptional.

  • The magnetic charger is easy to use, but the connection can be a little finicky.

Material and safety: 5/5

  • Made from body-safe silicone, the Tenera 2 feels high-end, smooth, and soft to the touch.

  • There are no questionable materials, and it’s fully waterproof for easy cleaning.

Ergonomics and ease of use: 4/5

  • The curved handle makes positioning comfortable, but the suction mouth can be tricky to align at times.

  • The button placement could also be more intuitive.

Versatility and customisation: 5/5

  • Thanks to the Lovense app, you have near-limitless options for patterns and intensity levels.

  • You can sync it to music, create custom settings, or let a partner control it from anywhere in the world.

Ease of cleaning and maintenance: 5/5

  • Fully waterproof and easy to rinse under warm water.

  • The self-cleaning feature (running at high power while submerged) is a useful addition.

Attachments and compatibility: 3/5

  • Unlike some other clit toys, the Tenera 2 doesn’t come with interchangeable heads or attachments, and you can’t control the suction and vibration separately, which limits personalisation.

Price vs performance: 3.5/5

  • It’s a fantastic toy with excellent features, but with an RRP of £219, it’s a significant investment so keep an eye out for discounts and offers.

  • If you won’t use the app features, a more affordable alternative like the Satisfyer Pro 2 might offer better value for money.

My final verdict

Final rating:

The Lovense Tenera 2 is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a smart, customisable suction toy with deep vibrations. It’s one of the best app-controlled vibrators I’ve tested, making it ideal for long-distance fun. However, it’s not the strongest suction toy on the market, and the price is high.

If you love tech-driven sex toys and want a combination of suction and vibration, it’s worth considering. But if you’re after raw suction power, the Womanizer or We-Vibe Melt may be better picks.
