I strongly doubt he's gender critical at all and don't see any evidence that he is there. If I had to guess, I'd say he's more likely to be in the red circle in this handy Venn diagram.

Imposter. Mel Gibson has no official X or other public social media accounts. His publicist Alan Nierob has confirmed this repeatedly to AP, Reuters, Lead Stories and others. Accounts like melgibson1 that use his name and photo are fakes.

I'm not an expert, but I wouldn't expect a fundamentalist catholic to be gender critical.

I would expect them to be fully signed up to gender as a concept, and be wanting to enforce gender roles wherever possible. See the diagram that @RedTrek posted, the red circle being where a fundamentalist Catholic would sit. The only overlap with 2nd Wave Feminist is the understanding that sex is physical and unchanging.

Anyway, this whole thing is invented rage bait nonsense and nothing to do with the actual Mel Gibson, or feminism.

Well that shows how much I know! I read this: The Vatican's document Dignitas Infinita and statements from recent popes reject modern gender theories that view gender as fluid, multiple, or self-chosen, teaching that surgical or chemical transition interventions threaten human dignity

and that men and women have "equal dignity but separate roles"

@faithfultoGeorgeMichael what is it about any of that which makes you think the Vatican is gender critical? As in, is critical of gender as a concept? That statement makes it clear that they support gender roles and want to enforce them on people.

Gender critical = gender is an oppressive artificial construct. People can’t actually change sex, but self expression is a wonderful thing.

gender bigot = gender and sex go hand and hand. People need to conform to stereotypes. Wearing clothing or behaving in ways outside of those stereotypes is unacceptable.

While I want laws to protect women, I also want laws to protect trans people. The two can be compatible if we are rational. I don’t want to be teamed with bigots.
