Repeated vandalism for putting up the tape, public nuisance for putting it up repeatedly, possibly criminal damage if the tape or it’s removal did damage, has to be something if he really did put his personal fluids up there (I hope you can charge someone with being utterly disgusting), if it was irritants like chillis again there must be something about harm to the public.

And yes, get him to spend those community service hours cleaning this up.

Fwiw I think he probably contaminated the stickers with chillis. Shemen would probably have dried and flaked off. Chilli oil is nasty if it gets in your eyes.

Realistically he's been putting up this tape since 2022 (that we know about), it seems that everyone in Edinburgh knew who he was and no action has been taken.

No, I don't think people should stick tape, stickers, flags, whatever onto lamp-posts. I suspect the Police don't either but have prioritised other things. He has now gone a step too far by adding chillis/his manly essence/something completely different to the tape and, since he's caused nightmare traffic jams, distressed and possibly injured two workers and cost the council heaven knows how much in Police, Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency workers' time he's going to get charged.

Would I have supported charging him if all he had done was stick one trans sticker onto a lamp-post? Probably not. As it stands I think they should throw the book at him.

He was up in court briefly this week it seems , not sure what has happened but he is on police bail at the moment
