Booby-trapped Trans tape on Edinburgh lampposts injures council worker during removal

MorningsideMaze · 21/08/2026 20:34

For a couple of years a TRA has been placing pink/blue/white tape on lampposts in Morningside in Edinburgh. Also stickers and other graffiti.
It seems theTRA has got fed up of the council removing their pink/blue/white tape from the lampposts and decided to booby trap them. They have put some substance on the tape, presumably to deter their removal. However, this has led to the hospitalisation a council worker who was removing the tape (and a major response from the emergency services sealing off a major road).
They then appeared a few hours later and put more tape (and substance) on!
This had half of Edinburgh gridlocked last night

What if the moon is made of cheese and they faked the moon landing in Wallace’s fridge with two pairs of socks and a grappling hook?

I'd buy that Grin

Would that be Fred Wallace's fridge btw?

false flag operations have a long history, but if you want to forget all that then go ahead and assume you know better

or we could just assume that the men who have been issuing violent threats are starting to follow them through, rather than Middle Aged women have sudden become a violent demographic

The moon is made of cheese, Morgan the Moon confirmed it decades ago, it's Caerphilly cheese. 😁

That seems like a massive over reaction from the authorities, unless they've been on standby to react to a perceived threat, is there something going on that the authorities aren't telling us about.🤔

False flag operations have occurred: yes.

So have false claims of false flag operations, especially from those whose knee jerk reaction is “but my side would NEVER”.

So it’s not very useful as a means of distinguishing in any specific case.

But very useful for those who want to go on claiming “but my side would NEVER.”

Looking at the probabilities: nothing’s impossible, but one side

  • has previously committed multiple acts of violence (mostly on property, some on people),
  • made far more threats of violence,
  • has a tendency to dwell on violent imagery,
  • justifies its violence by whipping up hysteria & hyperbole about non-existent “genocides”
  • seems to be losing.

But obviously: we don’t know.

I hope the workmen are recovering & the person was caught.

Edited to add: I first heard the “razor blades under posters” story in the 70s, when my mates & I used to scrape National Front posters off walls.

It was a lot of posters, but nobody I knew ever found any sharps (in fact I used to wonder if it wasn’t a story made up to encourage you to leave them up…)

More recently a TRA councillor round my way got into the papers, claiming he’d found razors under “hateful stickers”.

I know he was lying because a) he published his photos of the stickers with not a shred of a blade to be seen b) they were on curved surfaces & I have no idea how you’d manage it, & c) I’d put them there myself.

EricTheHalfASleeve · 22/08/2026 07:42

I wondered if this was TRA related - a bollard nearby had pro-trans graffiti scrawled on it in recent weeks, and there is other pink/blue paint stripes nearby. Seemed weird to have a 'chemical spill' as it was described on a lamp post.

testmatchspecial · 22/08/2026 07:43

It’ll have been the GC black ops team. It all fits if you think about it. One side covers their faces in public, wants everything done in back room deals and threatens violence if their wants aren’t handed to them, whereas the GC welcome press coverage and transparency and gather peacefully with their faces on view. Oh wait…

weebarra · 22/08/2026 08:31

I’m relatively local and had no idea what was behind this, it’s certainly not being reported with any reference to the trans thing. And local fb does say that a couple of the operatives have been hospitalised.

lcakethereforeIam · 22/08/2026 08:47

The original article posted by the OP had something about pink and blue tape

The “unauthorised sticker” on the lamppost is understood to be blue and pink coloured tape. The tape has reportedly been appearing in various locations in the area for several months.

Waitwhat23 · 22/08/2026 08:54

The tape has been appearing on the lamposts around there for ages, reported to the Council by local feminist groups for removal and then replaced (sometimes within the hour) by the numpty who is clearly determined to mark his territory, like a dog.

False flags? Nah, just the next step by a scrote who is frustrated that the Council keep taking his markers down.

The area doesn't surprise me - there's the same sort of territorial pissing (with grafitti, flags etc) at Portobello, Polwarth, Leith etc.

Yes but there’s only one side to the gender debate that’s violent and it sure as heck isn’t the ‘TERFs’.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 22/08/2026 09:10

Whoever it is, is clearly not employed, they seem to have plenty of time on their hands, and benefits enough to buy cheap tape from China.
You'd think considering the amount of publicly funded time these people are taking up, not to mention an emergency services reaction, the police might now stake out the lampposts and catch whoever's doing it.

I suggest a sentence of 1000 hours of community service, painting all the lampposts in Edinburgh, lets get value for our money and make them work for their benefits.

I like the Women = sticker. 😂

Given the harm they do to the cause they're supposed to support, you do have to wonder.

Likewise Eleanora Wossname, the Greens new 'female' rep for East Anglia.

I don't think you can make any assumptions based on that report, it's so nebulous. It's not even clear that the council workers were actually harmed in any way.

A local feminist network seems to have been reporting the tape to the council

https://x.com/edinfeminists/status/1659584505915555841?s=61&t=QUpzXtxEbEb0_p3wLRlTjA

that was May 2023.So it's been going on for at least 3 years then.

what if someone did a false flag copyed the tape etc to pin the blame on them when it was another group, ?

Yes, very likely. Either the Iranian Ayatollah or Putin directly sent an agent to Edinburgh to do this false flag attack.

HangryBrickShark · 22/08/2026 09:49

ScottishTERF · 21/08/2026 20:49

My friend was caught up in this incident but the media have been very coy about reporting it. I cannot understand (actually, I can, SNP! Enough said) why there has not been huge publicity and warnings if chemical poisons are spread around a very busy suburb of Edinburgh.

Its not a chemical poison! Its probably something like blended chillies or similar. The won't say what it is because children will abuse it! Horsey people have been using chili juice since time began to deter tail bites, rug rippers and crib biters - this will go over your head if you are not horsey! 🤣

Great that you can confirm for certain no sharps under those stickers!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/08/2026 09:58

Ah, I wondered why the reporting had been a bit vague when it first happened. Utter chaos at rush hour trying to travel southbound, it took me ages to get home and various narrow residential streets completely snarled up. I wasn’t aware of the sticker issues despite not living too far away, thanks for posting OP.
