Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

I recall him just upping and fucking off when debates got a bit sticky in GPEW conference.

He's not interested in anything except his own career.

Oh it's the mayoral election in Manchester tomorrow. I think today is the last day the news can do anything on this as tomorrow they have to maintain news blackout on anything that could be seen as political

fromorbit · 30/07/2026 07:13

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/07/2026 15:59

Exactly, he’d never be able to argue that women shouldn’t be allowed female only spaces without falling back on the mantra and #nodebate

He thinks it is totally fine that the Greens harassed a bunch of people, mainly women, who believe biology is a thing for years and doesn't want them in the party.

At the same time he thinks Mothin Ali who not only doesn't believe in trans stuff, but also is a sexist war loving twat who has issues with Jews is a great deputy leader.

Thing is I it is clear his nonsense is coming home to roost. As we have discussed in this thread many times the next Green conference is going to be insane with anti-Semitic stuff , hating women, plus anti Nato ideas being debated. Meanwhile will the climate crisis get discussed much there ?

What will the Greens do if they lose the court cases about them hating women which seems likely?

Greens don't seem to have made it to the Final 2 for the Manchester mayoral race.

It's Labour v Reform on the Single Transferrable Vote

ArabellaScott · 31/07/2026 22:26

Oh interesting.

Greens 3rd which is perfectly respectable in 1st choice votes of 12% , which was what they polled pre Zack

  • Sian Astley (Reform) 111,928 (20.99%)
  • Geraldine Coggins (Green) 64,968 (12.18%)
  • Marlon West (Restore) 46,289 (8.68%)
  • Phil Eckersley (Con) 41,021 (7.69%)
  • Richard Kilpatrick (LD) 14,702 (2.76%)
  • Marcus Farmer (Ind) 2,969 (0.56%)

The second round result, after the distribution of the votes of the five eliminated candidates, was:

  • Bev Craig (Lab) 309,525
  • Sian Astley (Reform) 157,178

Labour's Bev Craig wins Greater Manchester mayoral election

The Labour Party has retained the mayoralty following the departure of Andy Burnham

Restore (just) trump the Tories?
That's terrible.
I wonder what the views of the new Labour major are on the SC ruling/ECHR advice, and the grooming gangs scandal in the NW?
Until Labour show some sort of principled lead in these two areas, I'll cut off my hand before putting an X against a Labour candidate. And any LD, Green.

Weren’t they supposed to be polling more with the Zackster at the helm?

Lalgarh · 01/08/2026 00:22

Speculation that it's because the students are on summer break

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 01/08/2026 06:16

Another handmaiden voted in, good job Manchester. 😠

The voting seems to have become polarised as well, Reform seems destined to be ever the bridesmaid never the bride, with the Greens trailing after them, like the kid no one wants to play with.

According to a video I saw on all the candidates'replies when they were asked a question about the SC's clarification and the guidance, she's another woman who's all about the 'trans'. 🤮

What does that make the Tories, coming after Restore?
The shit on people's shoes?

It will take a while for people to forgive the Tories for 2010 to 2022, if they ever do. I'd take Badenoch over any of the Reform and Restore mob, but she's saddled with the Tory reputation in a way that they are not, though they should be.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 01/08/2026 15:30

I'm a big fan of Kemi's, of them all she's by far the best politician, I'd vote for her personally but not the party that she's the leader of. The Tory's low position in the vote might have more to do with personality, the Restore guy was very articulate.

Set next to Kemi our Zack is a trainwreck, and the Green candidate came across as a student playing at politics.

Lalgarh · 05/08/2026 09:23

The Police seem to be very busy these days. Over on other threads they've been involved in contacting journalists looking into that academic who's made outlandish claims about his disabilities and marathon running. They've also been interviewing that Wings Scotland guy about supposed harassment at the behest of a trans activist who issues death threats with little formal sanction.

One of them nearly arrested this journalist at the behest of the green party

Once Reform loses its shine, I think more of their voters will move towards the Tories than towards Labour; and certainly if Badenoch hits the rights notes on the sorts of issues that matter to them.

Haven't most of the 'troublesome' ex Tories already moved to Reform, though.
Personally, think there are a good few Tories who I think are very capable and who could have wider appeal. Give them a couple more years......

The metro mayor elections involved all of the outer boroughs and not just the city of Manchester., though...and those boroughs are not Green territory - maybe with the exception of Trafford.

lcakethereforeIam · 05/08/2026 11:46

Bevan Craig's old seat, now she's moved out and up, is up for grabs. She's been saying that the wants to be mayor for everyone. Even people who didn't vote for her! Well, I mean, that's literally part of the job but it's a nice thing to say regardless. How it'll work in practice, will GC voices be able to speak and be heard. I'd like to think soHmm

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 05/08/2026 12:56

The turn out for the election for the Mayor in Manchester was 25%, which would seem to suggest that this politically invented role is important to nobody but the political classes.

Yet the winning Labour candidate, effectively on little more than 1 in 10 residents voting for her, says she's in the vanguard of turning back the Thatcher legacy. Lol.

AngleofRepose · 05/08/2026 13:51

I was going to start a thread on this, but I think it fits in nicely here:

You know the Greens are shifting away from identity politics when they start talking about the climate again. Is this the beginning of the end of Greens and the Omnicause as bedfellows? Or the beginning of the end for Zack Polanski?

Polanski denies he is not spending enough time talking about climate change

Green Party leader Zack Polanski is asked by Sky News political reporter Faye Brown if he is trying to regain some green credibility by talking about climate change and wildfires today....

"I wish people were talking about the climate crisis every day."

He adds that he believes addressing the climate crisis will help with other political goals, like lowering bills, reducing inequality and other aims for his party....

Politics latest: Fossil fuel companies should pay for cost of wildfires, says Polanksi | Politics News | Sky News

borntobequiet · 05/08/2026 15:27

I was wondering when he would get around to climate change. I suspect that he doesn’t want to be drawn on environmental issues because he realises he’s pretty ignorant about them.

I was thinking the other day that Al Gore not being elected POTUS twenty-six years ago was quite the disaster. Who knows - with the environment to focus on, the Democrats might have avoided falling into the hands of the gender ideologues.
