Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

I'm always amazed by what the left feel they can get away with saying in public.
And of course, it doesn't stay simply as words or "suggestions".
Look at all the political violence in the US, from the murder of the pharma executive, to attempts on Trump's life, to all the anti Semitic violence on both sides of The Pond.
The left just revel in violent imagery, more and more can't differentiate between imagining violent outcomes, and carrying them out.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/07/2026 21:57

As I’ve said on other threads, and guess it’s due to Palestine Action etc, a new acronym is being talked about in the world of counter terrorism: LASIT - Left Wing, Anarchist and Single Issue Terrorism.

DrBlackbird · 27/07/2026 22:31

The Green Party spokesperson said: "Zack condemns the image on the T-shirt. He was tagged in a post with 20 images and clicked accept without realising there was more to it than he had seen.
**
"The T-shirt is clearly in poor taste, especially at a time of heightened fears for the security of public figures, having experienced multiple threats himself.
**
"He and the Green Party call on everyone involved in public discourse to show kindness and not encourage more division."

Well, that’s everyone told then. Everyone must just show kindness and not encourage more division. Do you think that includes towards women who think sex is immutable?

1984Now · 27/07/2026 22:38

Ah, Zack keeps "liking" stuff he in retrospect shouldn't like.
He's just too busy to check first.
What is this, the concentration of a 7 year old?

Lalgarh · 28/07/2026 00:41

And yet he's been careful enough to restrain his retweets since Berlin to a single comment sending love and solidarity over The Unpleasantness.

Some might say this is because he knows the key voter demographic the greens are courting in Manchester wouldn't appreciate those pictures of him twerking from a similar event in March.
But that is because they are dreadful far right hate mongers.

Zack Polanski is such a teenager, isn't he? The Greens would do so much better if they ditched the ideologies and went back to holding the government to account on the environment and climate change. They have completely lost their way.

'Show kindness' - fucksake, mate!

Some people are well meaning and misguided. I don't think Polanski is. He's merely ambitious and power hungry.

Its been listed as a thing on govt anti terrorism sites for a few years, I think. Afair precedes PA.

ArabellaScott · 29/07/2026 09:34

Yeah, this talks about LASIT going back a good few.years. its a kind of grab bag of mixed causes, not totally sure how helpful it is to mix incels, animal rights, and extreme left wingers together.

He is exactly that. He comes across as arrogant but brittle and snarky when challenged.

Refusing to apologise because it was a careless mistake rather than deliberate.

Splitting hairs. He should apologise for being so bloody careless when he is in a position of responsibility.

He is immature and with a massive but fragile ego.

Lalgarh · 29/07/2026 09:49

He's doubling down on the t shirt stuff

Yep. Imagine a potential PM 'accidentally' calling for the execution of a rival politician.

It's not good, whatever way you cut it.

He's associating with extremists, he's careless, he's not checking his statements, he doesn't realise the influence and power he has, he doesn't care, he is unable to recognise his mistake, he is sloppy, he is not that fussed by political violence ...

This feels almost heretical coming from the Guardian.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/jul/29/honeymoon-over-zack-polanski-burnham-green

I wonder if this might trigger him into more unforced errors online

Massive male Ego issues Trump, Farage, Putin, Polanski. all similar.

The Greens have dipped in the polls. ZP is desperate and when guys like that get desperate they do random stuff and dig in. Of course then they spiral deeper.

'... few were hugely surprised when Polanski pressed the “collaborate” button on an Instagram post comprising about 20 photos from an event he attended, the first a photo of himself.'

'It has also left the Greens wondering whether the sort of carpet-bombing approach to social media that helped Polanski build his profile needs to change, and particularly whether he needs help on this.'

It's like government by AI. Superficially appears convincing, but prone to horrendous aberration and possible hallucinated mistakes that could create real risk.

Lalgarh · 29/07/2026 12:46

I'm wondering if the "senior source in the green party" is nice Lib Dem alike Rachel Millward.

Polanski is back to boosting the greens in Manchester and advertising his appearance in new channel from Mehdi Hassan, Zeteo UK (look out 5pillars).

An unhelpful bigot has decided to post footage of Hassan ranting about gays being deviants in the replies.

https://x.com/PolitlcsUK/status/2082223116881625113

Out fucking rageous.

Up there with the "excluding trans women from women's spaces puts all women at risk" inside out, up is down, reality-defying statement.

Lalgarh · 29/07/2026 15:54

He's got quite a short attention span and he craves adulation. I don't think he's in politics to actually make policies, as at some point he'd have to defend doing something unpopular or argue with people with opposing viewpoints try to persuade them and not succeed .

He's mainly in politics as a fuck you to his acting career and in the greens as a fuck you to the lib Dems who wouldn't put him into a safe seat to contest it n the 2010s

ThreeWordHarpy · 29/07/2026 15:55

It’s astonishing how quickly our expectations and standards have fallen in our institutions and elected officials.

There’s a huge chunk of the population who still think the UK is a generally well run and honest country that doesn’t tolerate corruption, and things like the Post Office/Horizon scandal are a one off. We are due some very “interesting” times in the coming years.

Exactly, he’d never be able to argue that women shouldn’t be allowed female only spaces without falling back on the mantra and #nodebate
