"Yaniv’s new complaint again targets an esthetics salon run by women of immigrant background. She Point Beauty Studio is operated by East Indian women who are adherents to the Sikh religion. Yaniv approached the studio in August 2019 and first requested a Brazilian bikini wax.

"The studio refused, stating that their services are only for women. Yaniv then requested leg waxing services. Leg waxing takes place in private with the customer in their underwear or nude from the waist down.

"She Point Beauty Studio rejected Yaniv’s request for services due to religious, cultural and safety reasons, and because the salon services are specialized to women. Yaniv filed the complaint against She Point Beauty Studio in early October 2019.

"A hearing date has not yet been set for Yaniv’s new complaint. It is anticipated it will proceed to a hearing sometime in 2020."

Isn't the definition of stupidity doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

i wonder at what point it might begin to be seen as vexatios litigation? On the one hand i can understand that you want your legs waxing. On the other - just find somewhere that will do it.

If every waxing salon in the entire country says "no" that might be an issue. If you only ask those owned by minority women, not so much. (also - there is now obviously a gap in the market for the waxing services this person wants? there is money to be made)

Why is that Countess? Is it because JY is legally a woman in BC and there's no distinction between male and female leg waxing the way there is with intimate waxing (specialist training, different materials etc)?

IIRC the reason he lost the previous batch was because people who are trained to wax women women's pubic areas are not trained to wax scrotum safely, and this was the reason given by the judge. He's clever, I'll give him that - you can't say that men's legs are significantly different to women's legs when it comes to waxing them.

This case really will be about seeing if the court believes that a trans identifying person's right to not have hurt feelings trumps religious people's rights to work within their faith.

I believe there are plenty of salons that offer waxing services to both females and males. You certainly see adverts for both Brazilians and back, sac and crack. Perhaps some salons should contact Yaniv direct as there is obviously money to be made. Maybe the do.
I had a quick look at Yanivs Twitter page. There are reams and reams of abusive messages, ridiculing and humiliating. Honestly, it's a bit like the Jeremy Kyle Show, you feel some guilt and culpability for just watching. The whole situation is a complete circus. Yaniv (in his mindset/mental health) gets something from this cycle, and continues harassing certain women in this way. At what stage will the law protect women from this, and also protect Yaniv from himself.
Are there any grown ups in positions of influence and authority in Canada?

The judgement the last time round explicitly left this loophole open. It could almost have been read as an invitation for transwomen to use the Human Rights Tribunal to harass women into waxing their legs.

I'm glad Yaniv is doing this. The HRT could get away with it without anyone even noticing if it was someone else and I suspect they were hoping it would be someone else.

I think Yaniv must be known to all the salons now. I wish they would contact another salon and find a male waxer that agrees to work for them on the day Yaniv has an appointment. If Yaniv objects, the male can point out Yaniv’s transphobia as they identify as female. I wonder if Yaniv would go ahead with the appointment?
