From Twitter:

"Yaniv’s new complaint again targets an esthetics salon run by women of immigrant background. She Point Beauty Studio is operated by East Indian women who are adherents to the Sikh religion. Yaniv approached the studio in August 2019 and first requested a Brazilian bikini wax.

"The studio refused, stating that their services are only for women. Yaniv then requested leg waxing services. Leg waxing takes place in private with the customer in their underwear or nude from the waist down.

"She Point Beauty Studio rejected Yaniv’s request for services due to religious, cultural and safety reasons, and because the salon services are specialized to women. Yaniv filed the complaint against She Point Beauty Studio in early October 2019.

"A hearing date has not yet been set for Yaniv’s new complaint. It is anticipated it will proceed to a hearing sometime in 2020."

Isn't the definition of stupidity doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

Hoppinggreen Tue 07-Jan-20 10:55:52

I don’t think Yaniv cares about the result. Yaniv gets off on the whole process

SarahTancredi Tue 07-Jan-20 10:58:26

So does this mean they dropped the gynae thing or is running along side?

Ffs buy some immac and be done with it

YourOpinionIsNoted Tue 07-Jan-20 10:58:58

Clearly shows that JY isnt simply a grifter, they abandon a scheme once it's been busted. This is a fetish.

Brefugee Tue 07-Jan-20 11:00:24

i wonder at what point it might begin to be seen as vexatios litigation? On the one hand i can understand that you want your legs waxing. On the other - just find somewhere that will do it.

If every waxing salon in the entire country says "no" that might be an issue. If you only ask those owned by minority women, not so much. (also - there is now obviously a gap in the market for the waxing services this person wants? there is money to be made)

TheCountessofFitzdotterel Tue 07-Jan-20 11:03:36

I think Yaniv might win this one.

Needmoresleep Tue 07-Jan-20 11:08:19

Targeting a specific community presumably leaves JY vulnerable to accusations of racism. Is there a counter complaint that could be made on that basis?

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg Tue 07-Jan-20 11:09:25

Ffs buy some immac and be done with it grin

Why is that Countess? Is it because JY is legally a woman in BC and there's no distinction between male and female leg waxing the way there is with intimate waxing (specialist training, different materials etc)?

NotBadConsidering Tue 07-Jan-20 11:10:34

From the title I wondered if it would be Yaniv, Ronnie McKinnon Ivy, or Oger. Such an amazing trio representing Canada they should be so proud 🇨🇦

Justhadathought Tue 07-Jan-20 11:11:50

This is a fetish

Increasingly I think this is the case for many MTFs. It is not just the older, middle aged, married, cross -dressing men now...it is also younger men.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam Tue 07-Jan-20 11:15:10

Surely any judge hearing this case will be aware of the previous judge’s comments that JY was maliciously targeting these individuals and see that’s what JY is doing here?

TheFoxAndTheMole Tue 07-Jan-20 11:18:15

Now there's something none of us are surprised about.

I think Yaniv might win this one.

This worries me too. IIRC the reason he lost the previous batch was because people who are trained to wax women women's pubic areas are not trained to wax scrotum safely, and this was the reason given by the judge. He's clever, I'll give him that - you can't say that men's legs are significantly different to women's legs when it comes to waxing them.

This case really will be about seeing if the court believes that a trans identifying person's right to not have hurt feelings trumps religious people's rights to work within their faith.

Yes...

And...

Will that actually make a difference to them continuing with the case or to their findings?

I thought they lost the case because of the Intention behind the case not the fact that they had Male genitals?

BovaryX Tue 07-Jan-20 11:25:40

I think so too Countess This person’s obsession with forcing a beauty salon to comply is apparently endless

BovaryX Tue 07-Jan-20 11:26:34

that a trans identifying person's right to not have hurt feelings trumps religious people's rights to work within their faith

Yes

BoswellSolver Tue 07-Jan-20 11:28:02

Can't they argue that they can't wax anyone who their God would consider male? Then they can swerve the whole 'do you consider this hairy person to be male or female' question.

Siameasy Tue 07-Jan-20 11:28:13

Dying at Ronnie McKinnon😂 sounds like some old boy😂
Yeah I thought Oger too.
The more this shit happens the more it looks like a fetish. Hoping a court will see it for what it is but not entirely confident about that.

olivertwistwantsmore Tue 07-Jan-20 11:28:52

Yes. I hope sanity wins out here.

OhHolyJesus Tue 07-Jan-20 11:29:49

I think it's the definition of insanity OP. Sounds about right to me.

shedquarters Tue 07-Jan-20 11:41:25

I believe there are plenty of salons that offer waxing services to both females and males. You certainly see adverts for both Brazilians and back, sac and crack. Perhaps some salons should contact Yaniv direct as there is obviously money to be made. Maybe the do.
I had a quick look at Yanivs Twitter page. There are reams and reams of abusive messages, ridiculing and humiliating. Honestly, it's a bit like the Jeremy Kyle Show, you feel some guilt and culpability for just watching. The whole situation is a complete circus. Yaniv (in his mindset/mental health) gets something from this cycle, and continues harassing certain women in this way. At what stage will the law protect women from this, and also protect Yaniv from himself.
Are there any grown ups in positions of influence and authority in Canada?

sarahjconnor Tue 07-Jan-20 11:44:29

I think he’ll win this one. Ffs.

StuckBetweenDarknessAndLight Tue 07-Jan-20 11:47:39

This is just insane. How can this be happening? I think he'll win this one too.

allmywhat Tue 07-Jan-20 11:50:48

The judgement the last time round explicitly left this loophole open. It could almost have been read as an invitation for transwomen to use the Human Rights Tribunal to harass women into waxing their legs.

I'm glad Yaniv is doing this. The HRT could get away with it without anyone even noticing if it was someone else and I suspect they were hoping it would be someone else.

2BthatUnnoticed Tue 07-Jan-20 11:54:31

All these small business owners must be advised not to say “we only do women”

Instead, just say: “we are not taking on new clients at this time” or “we are fully booked at present”

I agree, Canada seems to be so misogynistic that they may well compel women to touch this hideous person (not commenting on their looks, but their character)
