I always thought Jessica Eaton was great anyway, but I didn’t know this about her! She really is inspirational.

So I thought this board could do with a nice positive thread about exactly how brilliant women really are.

Jessica if you’re lurking, I’m in awe of you, very, very well done Star

howonearthdidwegethere · 03/05/2019 18:01

She is! And she's not even 30. Shock

weeps

RepealTheGRA · 03/05/2019 18:03

I know!! I feel inadequate Blush which I know is not the point of her tweets! I’m pretty sure she’d Like everybody to take away the message that she did it and women everywhere can too. Total Shero.

She is fabulous. A difficult background, some trauma - major trauma - and turned all around in the most spectacularly relevant way.

One of the the most articulate and incisive women I can think of.

Her analyses are razor sharp, and always shot through with humanity.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 03/05/2019 18:16

Omg she’s going to NZ to speak about victim
blaming?!?! Jessica if you’re reading, I hope you get an appointment with NZ Rugby! I wish I was on twitter for a minute or two so I could tell her about what they’re like over there!!

JessicaWakefieldSV · 03/05/2019 18:16

Oh and YES!! Go you Smile

KarenTheCashRegister · 03/05/2019 18:24

I’ve never heard of her until this thread but she seems very inspirational.

R0wantrees · 03/05/2019 18:30

She is incredibly inspiring & extraordinarily productive!

This is her Victim Focus website with really important resources:

Fantastic, congrats, Dr.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 03/05/2019 18:48

Wow, I've just read her blog post "why education will never stop rape" , brilliant. She's also written an article called "stop asking me what about men". Will read later when kids in bed.

LizzieSiddal · 03/05/2019 18:48

Sexnotgender · 03/05/2019 18:51

R0wantrees · 03/05/2019 18:55

This is another brilliant & important blog post by Dr Jessica Eaton:

"All the things I want to say to women and girls who have been abused by men"
victimfocus.wordpress.com/2019/03/28/all-the-things-i-want-to-say-to-women-and-girls-who-have-been-abused-by-men/

I added it to a thread earlier today:

Good! You give it to them in NZ, I’m Māori, they’re been victim blaming the women of NZ for years!!

RepealTheGRA · 03/05/2019 19:27

I can't see the tweet but I have been enormously inspired by her work.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/05/2019 21:23

I think Dr Eaton is an incredible woman, I have read some of her work but I hadn’t read the piece posted above “all the things I want to say to women and girls who have been abused by men” . I read it a few minuted ago and it made me cry. I will read it again tomorrow.
She is inspiring, truly.
