victimfocus.wordpress.com/2018/10/06/detecting-the-frauds-in-sexual-violence-activism/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

This blog is a short guide for victims and survivors, loved ones, professionals and activists to pick out the fakes amongst the people who truly care about ending sexual violence and standing up against rape culture.

Fantastic post collating and outlining fraudulent behaviour, in this case for sexual violence activism, but I recognised so much of it from other spheres. Really useful when it comes to evaluating campaigners and lobby groups.

Jessica Eaton is outstanding in her field. She was given a temporary ban on twitter for calling someone a coward.

Very good article.

Jessica Eaton has come under serious fire lately from trolls. Hideous messages, yet she remains strong.

She is speaking at FILIA in Manchester.

Lots of good points.

I would like to add that lots of peer led survivor groups are popping up because lots of survivors face great difficulty in accessing the right MH support, and are stuck in a roundabout of GPs referring them to IAPT for yet more CBT which is used to a address current issues/problems, and not the past, which ironically dealing with the past, is what survivors are accessing these services for in the first place, rather than referring them on.

Oh Jessica Eaton is the woman who did the #nomoreCSEfilms campaign. She made some excellent pieces explaining how some "anti-Child Sexual Abuse films" are actually deeply unhelpful.

Very worth a watch.

Part 1 - What is a CSE film?
Part 2 - Because children deserve better
Part 3 - CSE films encourage victim blaming of children
Part 4 - CSE films misrepresent sex offending
Part 5 - CSE films traumatise children
Part 6 - CSE film are used for corporate gain
Part 7 - What can you do to support the campaign?

I know, I was booking my sessions last night and unfortunately she's on at the same time as something else I really want to go to. Hoping to pick up the new book, though.

She's really amazing!

Thanks for those links, Perking. I have watched them before but it's good to be reminded of them (they are a terrifying and shocking watch).

She is a wonderful woman. I absolutely support the work she has done to remove CSE films.
