Jean’s thread on this on Twitter is shocking. Sounds like paranoia gearing up to incitement. The tone of this, compared with the tone of the discussion in women’s meetings is a stark warning.

If you’re reading this Jean, please take care.

Well they sound nice. I wonder whether they'll have the Civic Hall if they go to Leeds.

I think the bigger this tour is, and the more publicity it attracts, the better.

Thanks JeanHatchet you really took one for the team there. Brew And take care

I wonder if West Yorkshire Police would investigate actual threats of violence against an actual woman or do they just bow down to tweets causing hurt feels.

PersistenceIsNotFutile · 21/11/2018 07:31

Good gracious, that sounds terrifying.

LizzieSiddal · 21/11/2018 07:35

Bloody hell, that should be shocking but it isn’t is it.

What a bunch of bastards, lying through their teeth. Lies which not only incite violence towards women (and men who agree with them) but frighten trans people.

SporadicSpartacus · 21/11/2018 07:37

The Leeds one is tonight, at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

Clearly they’ve felt safe enough to disclose the venue in advance - unlike women’s orgs.

I’m going to stay well away. they come across as unhinged and barely restraining themselves from hurting someone.

PersistenceIsNotFutile · 21/11/2018 07:40

The stark contrast is so obvious. They drive the narrative, they are intimidating, they are violent. Remind me again what women are doing?

Dragon3 · 21/11/2018 07:54

Jean is rock hard. What a woman. Thank you Jean.

Disappointed but not surprised to hear about about threatened violence at this event.

FlippinFumin · 21/11/2018 07:54

Well they could not have laid their cards out more clearly. All they want is for women not to have any spaces. As we keep hearing, listen when someone speaks, they are tellling you the truth. These people are not like women at all, they do not like women, they positively detest us. Germaine Greer was right. They will ban pockets on women's clothes again soon, mark my words.

Jean thank you for going, and Sidekick, and now go and continue getting better. Star

I was thinking the same. I tried to imagine the scenes if women tried to protest outside their meetings. Then I thought about going to such a protest. It would be terrifying.

Sounds like a fun evening. Did they live stream or record the event so we can watch? All the feminist groups do...

🍷🍷Jean. Brave and stunning

Floisme · 21/11/2018 08:34

What's the betting they'll be tweeting shortly about how Jean threatened them and how scary she is and demanding extra security tonight?

AnyOtherPerson · 21/11/2018 08:36

I thought that too. If they don’t, it’s a tacit admission that they are fully aware that they are in the wrong. No doubt they would pretend that they couldn’t as they feared retribution, or some such nonsense.

Jean says she’s recorded it. I wonder what West Yorkshire police would make of it! Hmm

I am tempted to ring venues hosting events like this and ask if these people are having a meeting there, then to politely wish them a pleasant meeting. I think the lobby would probably fall over themselves to call that harassment though. Maybe we can nominate a few women to make such calls so as not to overwhelm the venues Smile

DrudgeJedd · 21/11/2018 08:41

Looks like Jean has sent Andrew Gilligan a copy of her audio recording of the event. I hope he writes it up in this week's Sunday Times.

Mumfun · 21/11/2018 08:46

Very brave Jean and Flowers

I love that idea Grin You're right though, it would be respun as harassment.

Hopefully this will happen. Then venues can be pointed in the direction of the Times article with “Do you wish to be associated with these violent thugs?”

BlackeyedGruesome · 21/11/2018 10:03

you are awsome Jean.

LikeDust · 21/11/2018 10:20

Is this Action For Trans Health, founded by self identified non-binary transwoman with a vagina that happens to look like a penis who is on suspension for flashing her erect penis-looking vagina at work?

arranfan · 21/11/2018 10:24

There was a Bath Uni lunchtime meeting to discuss nasty oppressors who misunderstand the proposed reforms to GRA. We had some discussion about sending along some supportive messages and Mumsnet tea, biscuits, and lunchbags to help them but refrained as it seemed likely they'd misconstrue it.

We shall not be moved, from supporting your right to hire a room and enter the premises with no aggression, intimidation or threat'

FloralBunting · 21/11/2018 10:30

I didn't think it was possible to respect that woman any more than I do.

arranfan · 21/11/2018 10:49

Looking at her updates as she's going through the recording and quoting snippets is remarkable. To some extent, the rhetoric of violence and re-fashioning of science and history is in line with what we might expect but some of the other comments are startling me:

“TERFS hate lipstick and high heels and that’s actually quite misogynistic” ..

twitter.com/JeanHatchet/status/1065134641756209152

It would be good if some #manbox type men felt that they might go along and attend these meetings and report back on what they're picking up about toxic patriarchy and masculinity.
