Sister not Cister- Leeds 21.11.18
Well, for anyone who’s interested - here is a sound recording of the ‘Why we fight the TERF wars’ event by Sister not Cister, (who are a Trans Rights Activist group), in Leeds tonight.
They are on a countrywide tour, spreading misogynistic rubbish about “why TERFs are dangerous”, and discussing a range of political action responses to the gender critical movement.
There were about 30 people, mostly young woke folk, a handful of trans women, some non-binaries, a very vocal mother of a trans kid, and lots of woke bros and handmaidens.
The main speakers were a transwoman and a transman.
They had password protected tickets for this free event, were questioning people on the door about their allegiances, were very vocal and hostile about not letting any terfs in, and were very paranoid about people filming or recording the event (tee hee hee !!), repeatedly asking for people to put their phones in their pockets.
I look forward to any deconstruction of this hugely inaccurate and wildly misrepresentative demonisation of the gender critical movement.
The whole thing was severely lacking in any kind of facts, statistical data or evidence base, as well as any kind of critical analysis or structured political narrative. It was the most non-sensical, contradictory and hypercritical virtue-signalling load of rubbish I’ve ever heard.
And makes me wonder how the trans lobby has made it this far, and extended this amount of influence, if this is the calibre of their campaign.
In short, a lot of self-indulgent victim claiming, a lot of scape-goating of radical feminists, with undertones of incitement to violence, without being explicit.
