I've just finished Scott & Bailey, and Stephen Graham's Time, loved them, same as Luther, Marcella etc.

Looking for a new one now, what's good?

Yes to Mare of East Town! Very good. Also Innocent.

The first series of true detective is brilliant, I've not watched the other series of it yet.

Justme10 Sun 13-Jun-21 18:50:05

Strike is also very good, I think you can still get that on catch up

Mare of Easttown was fantastic! I didn't think I'd like it because I've never been much of a Kate Winslet fan but it was VERY good.

Sorry if this is hijacking, but can I just ask if any of these are good to watch with older children (13 & 15 but not good with super scary stuff)?

notawittyname1954 Tue 15-Jun-21 11:06:11

I reiterate Mare of EastTown. Was brilliant.
Agree about Strike too

The Fall ,Luther, Wallander, Before we Die,. Twin,

Sanguinesuzy Tue 15-Jun-21 12:02:53

Yes to mare of east town, Shetland, unforgotten (first 3 series in particular) queens gambit, dark (subtitles but good), the missing, line of duty (just finished it - last series a bit meh tbh) ...

Flippyflops2021 Tue 15-Jun-21 12:04:46

Just watched The Pact. Really enjoyed it. Bbc iPlayer 6 episodes. Also The Serpent was a good one off series. Based on true events.

MazDazzle Tue 15-Jun-21 12:07:06

Before We Die. One of the central actors from Scott & Bailey’s in it.

IntermittentParps Tue 15-Jun-21 12:56:31

Check out Walter Presents for subtitled ones. Top of my head: Floodland, All the Sins, Thou Shalt Not Kill. But there's loads.

KaptainKaveman Tue 15-Jun-21 12:59:16

Hidden is really good (on catch up I think)
Happy Valley
Line of Duty
Box 21

SinkGirl Tue 15-Jun-21 13:01:00

Just watched Undercover on Netflix (it’s Flemish and bloody brilliant).

The Shield is my favourite police drama, also The Wire is great.

You didn’t mention Line of Duty which is an obvious one so you may have seen it.

LagganBubble Tue 15-Jun-21 13:02:43

Kill the Beast on Britbox is excellent. Set on the Isle of Wight, it's got a bit of a Broadchurch vibe (would recommend that as well). Stars Cush Jumbo & Jared Harris, both excellent!

SinkGirl Tue 15-Jun-21 13:02:44

Also
The Night Of
Seven Seconds

If you can get hold of Barry (HBO black comedy about a hitman trying to get into acting) then watch that - best series that’s been on for years

SinkGirl Tue 15-Jun-21 13:03:00

Oh and Fargo! Series 1 and 2 especially are amazing

3Britnee Tue 15-Jun-21 18:30:16

I'm watching strike now.
