Morning all!

Hopefully last week's wobble with the spreadsheet has been overcome:

Here it is

And hope there aren't too many wobbles on the LCHF front either!

It's an absolutely gorgeous day here, and seems like all of this week is going to be glorious. (Well, Darn Sarf it is anyway!)

I hope that you all have a good day food-wise too. Somehow it always seems easier when it's salad/barbecue weather, to stay on the low carb track.

Good look and here's to another successful week Flowers

@m0therofdragons:

Does anyone have advice re children. They are not on the diet obviously but tonight we had chicken and loads of green veg but I was so wrapped up in me that I forgot I meant to cooked them rice. They loved dinner and had sandwiches for lunch so they're not carb free but how much carbs do children need? I don't want to mess up their health trying to sort out mine!

Dc are 6 and 10. My 2 6yos are average but dd1 boarders on underweight (her build is bean pole - she eats well).

I don't think anyone needs a high carb diet. That said, children generally don't need to worry about their weight either - but they do need plenty of good energy sources.

But just think back to earlier generations' food - the expression 'meat and two veg' typified the British diet before we started to eat breakfast cereals, or see rice and pasta as the basis of every meal!

So typically your meal would have been built around a piece of meat/fish, and served with two different vegetables, plus potatoes. You would have had a cooked breakfast - bacon and eggs very possibly. You might have had this with toast, and you might have bread and butter with your lunch or dinner - but overall, your carb intake would have been a lot lower (and the fat intake a lot higher than is currently recommended) than they are now, when meals are often based on rice or pasta.

If you're giving your children fruit, salad and vegetables, then they will be getting good carbs from those. Of course, they can still eat bread, pasta and rice (where you can't on Bootcamp!), but they won't be harmed by not having those at every meal! You could also look to include pulses/beans in their diet too - as long as they like those.

Thanks for new thread!

I'm off to analyse the effect of alcohol on my mood....

Morning all and thanks BIWI for the new thread. I can't edit the spreadsheet, seems to open in view only. But I'm 161.4lbs, so 1.4lbs down (and I've seen 161.0 several times in the week) which I'm more than happy with at this stage.

Trying to keep my chin up this morning.
Stayed the same at weigh in, so although I've lost 12lbs overall, only 3lbs in the last 4 weeks. I know it's still a loss but it just doesn't seem much especially as I'm still on full bootcamp rules.
Going to try giving up dairy this week and see if that helps.

12lb overall is a lot though borowren. I don't think you need to be downhearted.

Morning, all.

Weight loss isn't linear, bowren, so it's normal to have ups and downs and stalls. I stalled for months (grrr) but things seem to be shifting now.

Another 2 oz off for me, man this pound is stubborn!

So is the spreadsheet, it won't let me enter stuff, boo!

seafour just read your updates on the last thread, wow you have been through a lot. You are very inspirational in the way that you just get on with it.

I didn't weigh today, I feel very heavy (mainly from AF) and didn't want to face the scales so I will do mine tomorrow.

Thanks for the new thread BIWI.

Checking in with a 1.5 lb gain - thoroughly deserved after a weekend of alcohol indulgence. I had beer which although nice at the time was so not worth it for how bloated I feel this morning.

Seafour so sorry to read of your skin cancer diagnosis on top of everything else. Your strength is inspiring 💐

I'm up a lb this week, but have been drinking more regularly than BC allows. I've been blaming that on the stress of moving house (just a few days to go!) but that's just excuses, excuses, excuses. So am stopping entirely for two weeks again.

On the plus side, I've been adventuring into the world of bitter salads and seafood, and my skin is thanking me for that.

Morning all thanks for the new thread.
I'm down another pound but can't enter into the spread sheet either as it's view only.

borowren I've lost 36 pounds since starting low carb but the same as you since boot camp started. I've "only" lost a pound the last two weeks which isn't much compared to the majority of previous weeks especially when I've a lot to lose.
A pound on its own can not seem like a lot but when you add it to your previous losses it's amazing and the loss of a pound now makes a bigger difference to your body now than the loss of a pound when you started. You're doing really well, hopefully switching things around a little will helpSmile

Morning all

Went down with an awful case of tonsillitis on Thursday. Been bedridden and on antibiotics since and only surfacing up for air now. Nil by mouth Friday, Saturday and up until yesterday afternoon where I managed soup, soft bread and later scrambled eggs.

I've weighed myself and I've lost 5lbs last week but think this will alter once I start eating again so not formally noting it as a loss, rather I am focusing on trying to minimise the bounce up.

Although it must be said even with that 5lb sickness drop, my total loss is only 8lbs! So let's hope I don't bounce back up too much.

Off to bed again to sleep and recuperate.

124.2: only a measly 0.2lb off but I've not been very strict on a few occasions (esp wine tasting and beer festival) and also I have seen a new low of 122.8 twice this week so the balance is definitely shifting downwards and I have had some really good days. Currently my weight is approximately 25% insect bite.

A rise up of 1.5lb up this morning for me which is weird and never happened in the previous 6 months of bootcamp. I’ve been ravenous all week but have stuck to low carb choices every time. Prob a bit too much Greek yoghurt and 85% chocolate. A small amount of alcohol. Will just KOKO and see what happens this week as it may well be cyclical.

Thanks for the new thread BIWI.

Another hard-earned and grudgingly lost 1lb, making a grand total of 2lb lost over this BC, with all the ups and downs. It's slow progress! Still, I'm feeling better, waistbands are a bit looser, so I'll persevere and keep on hoping. It WILL go, it's just taking a bit longer than I'd like.

I'm down a whole 0.1lbs. Go me!!!!! Actually, since I resorted to carbs fairly big time this weekend I'm surprised it's down at all. But I was seriously fed up of saucey things and omelettes and when DP mentioned he was going to the local town Saturday evening I suggested he popped into the chippy for dinner. But, hopefully, we'll be getting our new oven delivered today and all will be well once more.

Had slightly odd weekend. Was all set to go for a run on Saturday (even had LCHF snacks cooked and in my bag) when I realised I had no trainers at home, I'd left both in the office. I asked DP to pick a pair up for me but by the time he got home it past my peak running time so I decided to go on Sunday instead. Only, going into the house from putting washing out DP asked me a question which distracted me, I tripped over something and put my hands out to stop myself falling, and caught the fleshy part of my hand (the bit under the thumb) on the very edge of the door. It hurt, became swollen very quickly and turned blue. It wasn't as sore as it should have been, but that was probably due to the fact that I held it against some frozen peas for 20 mins. I did, however, feel very sick and very faint. So no run for me then either.

This morning I couldn't find the trainers DP had brought home anywhere, so thought never mind, I still have the other pair in the office. Only they're not here! So that's two pairs of trainers which have gone missing in my very small house. It's really very bizarre!

I've gone down again this week but can't record it on the 'view only' grid. My loss of last week has vanished from it too. (Luckily the loss is still securely on my scales!)

Drank the beer and stayed the same this week. What a surprise. Hmm

I have to make these next two weeks very productive as I’m buying a franchise and going for training second week of July. I anticipate being too busy come August/September to make bad LCHF decisions.

Which probably doesn’t make sense to anyone but me. Glad I understand what I’m talking about. Grin

Thanks for the thread, BIWI. Congrats to those who have lost, patience to those who have not.

I've got my cauliflower cheese in the oven for brunch so thanks for the recipe BIWI although I did take the liberty of adding crumbled bacon. I've cut out a cauliflower steak for later Waswitty and the rest has been riced for savoury cauliflower rice tomorrow.

2 pounds off this week making a total of 12 since the start of Bootcamp and 15 altogether. Pretty pleased with that, I need to knock the booze on the head though, it’s been creeping up and up and is not helping me lose weight. Plus I feel grotty this morning and hangovers without toast are not fun!
