Seven days and counting. Still aching, feverish, coughing up a lung every 5 minutes and can NOT get warm.

Bored of hurting, bored of Beechams flu plus, bored of my own clothes feeling like they're sandpapering me, and so buggering tired...

And yes, I had the jab. Useless fucker.

Anyone else?

Yes....my friend who also had the jab!

woosey35 · 18/12/2017 00:05

Yes!! And also had the jab!! Every singe bit of me hurts. I feel weak, teary, freezing cold etc etc. However DH has told me tonight to ‘get over it, it’s only a cold!’
Hence why I’m now sleeping on sofa cos don’t want my sweaty body anywhere near his!!!!!

woosey35 · 18/12/2017 00:06

Ps day 3 here and feels worse not better

PurplePillowCase · 18/12/2017 00:08

yes, had it 3 weeks ago. flated up again last weekend and is not yet better really.

DustyMaiden · 18/12/2017 00:14

13 days feel better but still coughing.

IvorBiggun · 18/12/2017 00:19

Had it, took ages to get over but feel tip top now. It was a good couple of weeks all in with the first three days the worst, then it picked up for a couple of days before coming back with a vengeance for another couple of days and then the lingering awfulness.

I also had the jab. I like to think (having been quite ill with the bloody jab) that without it I would have perished. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

IvorBiggun · 18/12/2017 00:19

Perished is hyperbole.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 18/12/2017 00:27

Yep, we've all got it. 😷 I am struggling not to throttle DH as I have to hear constantly about how sick he is and listen to him moaning and groaning while he gets loads of sleep, takes all the cold relief and drinks medicinal brandy.
I am breastfeeding so can't have anything but honey & lemon and am getting no sleep with a sick baby. Envy

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 18/12/2017 04:42

Woosey they're amazing like that aren't they? My DH usually tends to think any illness that lasts more than 24 hours is just attention-seeking, but I have to say in this case even he has had to concede that it's a bad one.

He's removed himself to the spare room all week so I can cough to my heart's content.

Tell me about it! 😡

Started 5 weeks ago. Have been absolutely dreadful. Still not 100% by any means.

And yes, I had the flu jab mid October. 😷

Str4ngedaysindeed · 18/12/2017 21:53

DH had it over the past two weeks and it has been awful. He's never ever ill so I knew it was real. Just but getting over it now - coughing like a good un still though...

Fekko · 18/12/2017 21:56

Me and I had the stupid jab. Caught it from a colleague (I have told him that I am going to do unmentionable things to him as a result). Who comes into work sick? I haven't felt this rough in years.

shakeyourcaboose · 18/12/2017 21:59

How are your ears? Mine are so sore, and got flu jab and stupid green sticker to prove it for my id badge!

IamEarthymama · 18/12/2017 22:00

DW And I were really poorly a few weeks ago, it was horrid.
I was able to sleep it off though, I was lying in bed having such vivid dreams, I felt really scared.
I had the flu jab just before, hoping that's the last I see of it.
Hope you all feel better soon Brewthat's honey and lemon, that is, And much sympathy for those who can't have a shot of rum

Fekko · 18/12/2017 22:01

My ears and cracking and popping, and it's definately a code green.

Fekko · 18/12/2017 22:01

Oh yes - weird dreams here too!

PurplePillowCase · 18/12/2017 22:34

annoying ear popping here too.
have been for a walk in the park in the sun this afternoon, but that left me totally shattered for the rest of the day.

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/12/2017 22:39

I think I probably didn’t have flu, but I had the worst cold I have had in years - was off work for a week, and three weeks on am still not well. I am swinging between choked or streaming, and coughing away, particularly in bed.

(I also had the flu jab.)

Owletterocks · 18/12/2017 22:39

Yep, same here on day 6 now. Actually cried doing the school run on wed I felt so awful. Can now function and I have to go to work as I am the only person who does my Job. The cough is awful and I am embarrassed in work, keep having to leave my desk to cough properly without disturbing everyone. Still have a sore throat and ears and all over body ache. Just took a neurofen now and am off to bed. Busy day in work tomorrow and I am dreading it

Got it here too. DH apparently feeling "exhausted too", so thought he'd go for a run to make himself feel better. I may have told him that if he can walk unaided, never mind run, he's not feeling what I am.

I haven't felt this bad in years.

No flu jab - but seems it makes no difference!

YY to pelvic floor problems re coughing & vomiting Blush
Awful.

Day 12, over the worst now, started with sore throat, headache, sneezing, fever, coughing, general aches +pains, then after feeling tiny bit better, hellish sinusitis with simultaneous vomiting & diarrhoea.

Flu jab at the end of October has made no difference.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 18/12/2017 23:09

Currently in oz - a nasty flu went round oz this past winter and my parents told me it was a particularly nasty one. Unfortunately this strain was not included in the UK flu vaccine for this winter.

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 19/12/2017 11:02

I saw something on the news about Australian flu - that would explain why the jab has been useless.

Relieved to hear the pelvic floor failure is pretty common. It's probably a good time to buy shares in Tena, if I'm anything to go by.

Day 9 for me - temp almost back to normal, aches and shivers have stopped. Just feel completely wiped out, walking up the stairs has me sweating and panting, and the cough is turning me inside out.
