Seven days and counting. Still aching, feverish, coughing up a lung every 5 minutes and can NOT get warm.

Bored of hurting, bored of Beechams flu plus, bored of my own clothes feeling like they're sandpapering me, and^ so buggering tired...^

And yes, I had the jab. Useless fucker.

Anyone else?

shewolfmum Sun 17-Dec-17 23:54:38

Yes....my friend who also had the jab!

woosey35 Mon 18-Dec-17 00:05:44

Yes!! And also had the jab!! Every singe bit of me hurts. I feel weak, teary, freezing cold etc etc. However DH has told me tonight to ‘get over it, it’s only a cold!’
Hence why I’m now sleeping on sofa cos don’t want my sweaty body anywhere near his!!!!!

woosey35 Mon 18-Dec-17 00:06:16

Ps day 3 here and feels worse not better

PurplePillowCase Mon 18-Dec-17 00:08:49

yes, had it 3 weeks ago. flated up again last weekend and is not yet better really.

DustyMaiden Mon 18-Dec-17 00:14:28

13 days feel better but still coughing.

IvorBiggun Mon 18-Dec-17 00:19:14

Had it, took ages to get over but feel tip top now. It was a good couple of weeks all in with the first three days the worst, then it picked up for a couple of days before coming back with a vengeance for another couple of days and then the lingering awfulness.

I also had the jab. I like to think (having been quite ill with the bloody jab) that without it I would have perished. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

IvorBiggun Mon 18-Dec-17 00:19:58

Perished is hyperbole.

SpikeGilesSandwich Mon 18-Dec-17 00:27:40

Yep, we've all got it. 😷 I am struggling not to throttle DH as I have to hear constantly about how sick he is and listen to him moaning and groaning while he gets loads of sleep, takes all the cold relief and drinks medicinal brandy.
I am breastfeeding so can't have anything but honey & lemon and am getting no sleep with a sick baby. envy

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt Mon 18-Dec-17 04:42:54

Woosey they're amazing like that aren't they? My DH usually tends to think any illness that lasts more than 24 hours is just attention-seeking, but I have to say in this case even he has had to concede that it's a bad one.

He's removed himself to the spare room all week so I can cough to my heart's content.

Rafflesway Mon 18-Dec-17 21:46:51

Tell me about it! 😡

Started 5 weeks ago. Have been absolutely dreadful. Still not 100% by any means.

And yes, I had the flu jab mid October. 😷

Str4ngedaysindeed Mon 18-Dec-17 21:53:45

DH had it over the past two weeks and it has been awful. He's never ever ill so I knew it was real. Just but getting over it now - coughing like a good un still though...

Fekko Mon 18-Dec-17 21:56:16

Me and I had the stupid jab. Caught it from a colleague (I have told him that I am going to do unmentionable things to him as a result). Who comes into work sick? I haven't felt this rough in years.

shakeyourcaboose Mon 18-Dec-17 21:59:10

How are your ears? Mine are so sore, and got flu jab and stupid green sticker to prove it for my id badge!

IamEarthymama Mon 18-Dec-17 22:00:21

DW And I were really poorly a few weeks ago, it was horrid.
I was able to sleep it off though, I was lying in bed having such vivid dreams, I felt really scared.
I had the flu jab just before, hoping that's the last I see of it.
Hope you all feel better soon brewthat's honey and lemon, that is, And much sympathy for those who can't have a shot of rum

Fekko Mon 18-Dec-17 22:01:02

My ears and cracking and popping, and it's definately a code green.

Fekko Mon 18-Dec-17 22:01:40

Oh yes - weird dreams here too!

PurplePillowCase Mon 18-Dec-17 22:34:09

annoying ear popping here too.
have been for a walk in the park in the sun this afternoon, but that left me totally shattered for the rest of the day.

Judydreamsofhorses Mon 18-Dec-17 22:39:04

I think I probably didn’t have flu, but I had the worst cold I have had in years - was off work for a week, and three weeks on am still not well. I am swinging between choked or streaming, and coughing away, particularly in bed.

(I also had the flu jab.)

Owletterocks Mon 18-Dec-17 22:39:15

Yep, same here on day 6 now. Actually cried doing the school run on wed I felt so awful. Can now function and I have to go to work as I am the only person who does my Job. The cough is awful and I am embarrassed in work, keep having to leave my desk to cough properly without disturbing everyone. Still have a sore throat and ears and all over body ache. Just took a neurofen now and am off to bed. Busy day in work tomorrow and I am dreading it

SnowBallsAreHere Mon 18-Dec-17 22:43:16

Yes.
And my pelvic floor has given up with the coughing and vomiting.
3 of us are ill at home. DH is ‘ill’ and has been out at the pub envy
The teenage DC is in charge so we are all doomed.

ThatWasNotLove Mon 18-Dec-17 22:47:40

Got it here too. DH apparently feeling "exhausted too", so thought he'd go for a run to make himself feel better. I may have told him that if he can walk unaided, never mind run, he's not feeling what I am.

I haven't felt this bad in years.

No flu jab - but seems it makes no difference!

SnowBallsAreHere Mon 18-Dec-17 22:52:05

DD had the flu jab, and we think it’s all her fault grin. But then we may be hallucinating.confused

Usernom1234567890 Mon 18-Dec-17 23:03:31

YY to pelvic floor problems re coughing & vomiting blush
Awful.

Day 12, over the worst now, started with sore throat, headache, sneezing, fever, coughing, general aches +pains, then after feeling tiny bit better, hellish sinusitis with simultaneous vomiting & diarrhoea.

Flu jab at the end of October has made no difference.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 Mon 18-Dec-17 23:09:18

Currently in oz - a nasty flu went round oz this past winter and my parents told me it was a particularly nasty one. Unfortunately this strain was not included in the UK flu vaccine for this winter.
