Seven days and counting. Still aching, feverish, coughing up a lung every 5 minutes and can NOT get warm.

Bored of hurting, bored of Beechams flu plus, bored of my own clothes feeling like they're sandpapering me, and so buggering tired...

And yes, I had the jab. Useless fucker.

Anyone else?

Is it just that he doesn’t know how to manage if you are ill?

I think he's getting bored with it all now. He can manage fine, and quite enjoyed showing off how well he could cope with all the childcare/cooking/laundry/Christmas prep for the first week. The novelty is wearing off a bit now though. He'd like me to make a snappy recovery and get back to normal. (Him and me, both!)

Dd (13) is on day 5, Ds (15) is on day 3 and Dd (17) is on day one. I feel like Florence Nightingale does it ever actually end.

There is still me, Dh and Ds (10) who has SN to go I cannot take anymore WAhhhhh!

Not me Thankgod, I get terrible colds where everything aches and my eyes and nose streams etc and before I actually had flu I probably thought it was the flu....until I did have flu when 7m pregnant with ds1 14yrs ago, I didn’t move out of bed for 2 weeks, I didn’t eat for 10 days and was somewhat delirious, every bone in my body ached, I literally have never felt so ill in my life, without sounding dramatic I thought I was going to die!

I’ve been very very lucky in that in subsequent pregnancies ive had the flu jab and I’ve touchwood never had flu since but I do have a secret chuckle when people stand in front of me and say they have the flu, I just think, if you did actually have the flu, you wouldn’t be stood in front of me now!!

A snappy recovery would be wonderful. Let’s hope we all wake up tomorrow feeling refreshed and raring to go!

Poor you, mynameis, that doesn’t sound like fun. Make sure you look after yourself so you don’t get ill too.

I had flu a fee years ago and although the worst lasted 2 weeks it took nearly 6 weeks to feel completely back to normal as it just knocks all the energy out of you. Horrible illness. Hope you all feel better soon.

Apparently it's not Flu just a Flu like illness. Current levels of circulating flu are low Hmm or so say the official statistics. if it feels like flu and looks like flu, then I think it's bloody flu!

I had this and thought it was a bad cold. I struggled into work for 2 weeks as my place of work NHS was sending round emails detailing the difference between cold and flu. Basically saying if it's flu you won't be able to get out of bed, but if it's a cold you will feel bad but can still work!

Anyway it eventually turned into bacterial tonsillitis and I wound up in bed for 5 days.
AWFUL!

Ive been ill since monday, first started with a headache then a temp of 40 and today has been the first day that temp is nearly normal.
Aches, nose so bloody blocked I can not breath, I sound like a seal coughing and horse voice (although today its more of a wet cough now).
Its gone through all 8 of us in this household in varying degrees.

Mine started Christmas day with a swollen sore throat and Being sick due to trying not to cough because it hurt too much. Was able to swallow tomato soup by the evening.Went to work for 2days but gave up on Thursday .I then had 2days off and thought I would be well for tomorrow.Atm I have streaming eyes, coughing, raised temp and have lost my voice.Tommorow I will be the caring face of the NHS!
The good side is that this Christmas has caused no weight gain and involved very little alcohol(I sure sign I am really poorly).
Luckilyy DD is away for 4days so I can size on the sofa drinking endless cups of tea.
