Still working my way through Move for the umpteenth time. Once I’ve done that I might fill December with some other practices so I’ll look at Sarah Beth.
How long have you been doing YWA @CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor? I’ve not done an in person class in a year, as none near me.

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 20/11/2023 18:05

@narniabusiness only a couple of weeks.

I need a good audio description as I'm blind as a bat when I take my glasses off. Who describes the actions best? It ruins the flow if I have to put my specs on & peer at the screen.

narniabusiness · 20/11/2023 18:10

I mostly do YWA and I do find she is quite good on the descriptions. I have a few favourite series I can do without looking at the screen now, just relying on listening. I’ve been doing the you tube yoga for 2 years now.

Yogachick · 20/11/2023 22:26

Sarah Beth,Charlie Follows and Livinleggings all good at audio description though Livinleggings zero of the spiritual side. YWA always excellent but having practiced with her for years can get a bit samey. In person classes are a dream of mine but so very very expensive- more than twice the price of other classes I take, so I’ll probably stick with mostly home practice on budget alone

Sooverthemill · 20/11/2023 22:48

Been having a rough time post covid/flu jabs and didn’t manage any yoga for about a week but have done a couple of days on 10 minute Kassandra sessions. Just very easy seated ones

Hope you make a speedy recovery @Sooverthemill One of Adrienne’s more recent videos was Yoga for Recovery which I liked when I was feeling under the weather. Have you tried that one?

ThriceInALifetime · 20/11/2023 22:53

Hi I need to start doing yoga again, not done any since before covid! Will have a look at the videos, thanks.

Sooverthemill · 22/11/2023 08:48

@narniabusiness thanks yes I’ve done that many times! Today I was just about able to do 5 minutes of a Kassandra one without coughing!!!

Yeay I am so happy to find this thread !
@Sooverthemill thanks so much for starting it.
I am six months post hysterectomy and sadly all the good yoga habits went by the wayside well and truly so I am like a total beginner again but slowly trying to rebuild the habit.
I think this thread will really help keep me accountable and hopefully get me geared up for a new 30 days in January.

I did the wake up flow one today that a couple of you have mentioned!
I really enjoyed it.

Yogachick · 23/11/2023 12:38

Hope you’re feeling better @Sooverthemill x yesterday was a Charlie Follows 20 min ,core one also with Charlie today,it’s a strong one but very creative and interesting with no boats thank goodness. I’ve been saying I’m going to learn to do a handstand for about 5 yrs and made zero effort to work towards it so treated myself to Charlie handstand program with good ole Black Friday discount. I avoid anything measurable as I expect to fail but good a time as any for a new start, practicing while I’m away already different

Jumbojem · 24/11/2023 16:56

Hello all, I'm still here doing yoga 4ish times a week. Pretty lazy though and picking short ones. Maybe I should branch out and try Sarah Beth that yoga chick has been sharing, or Kassandra.
Anyone getting excited for next year's YWA series? I hope it will inspire me to stick with it every day if possible, last year was the first time out of many trying that I actually made it. I do it first thing and love seeing the mornings gradually get a bit lighter as the month passes.

narniabusiness · 24/11/2023 17:38

Hi @Jumbojem Yes I can’t wait for the next series. I’ve managed to finish the last two year’s series and plan to do the next one daily as there is hopefully nothing to distract me in January.
@Yogachick Thanks for the Sarah Beth recommendation. I’ve just tried my first one - a half hour stretching practice. Very zen compared to Adrienne. I feel very chilled.

Yogachick · 24/11/2023 20:08

Good to hear @narniabusiness I’ve done a Jessica Smith 10 min Refresh today. Feeling my muscles after yesterday’s practice in a good way. Love Jessica Smith as an accessible workout person

Buttalapasta · 24/11/2023 21:13

A belated thanks for the new thread @Sooverthemill ! I forgot all about posting on it. Still plodding away at 10 minute Kassandra sessions. Enjoyable but don't seem to be getting any better.

ZenNudist · 26/11/2023 13:52

Ooh watching. Good videos. I should join in

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 26/11/2023 18:49

I've had a few days off. Need to get back on it tomorrow.
🧘‍♀️

Jumbojem · 27/11/2023 20:38

I took the plunge I'd otherwise avoid, 20 min intermediate power yoga flow. Just the title is off putting. However, it wasn't much out of the ordinary for one of Adrienne's pacier practices. I did struggle a bit towards the end (plus dreaded side planks) but good slightly sweaty Monday wake up.
Might give Sarah Beth a go later this week.

Sooverthemill · 30/11/2023 00:15

Ugh and then I got an actual cold and so did DD and DH went away and life all gut a bit much. But today ( Wednesday) I did a 10 minute Kassandra that helped

Yogachick · 03/12/2023 18:21

Sorry to hear you’ve poorly again @Sooverthemill and DD,it’s bloody relentless this time of year. Well done for getting to the mat at all xx Back to the mat late yesterday for me with the cosy practice from Dec YWA calendar. Surprised myself today by doing Day 2 Awaken the Artist within,a 40 min practice, well out of my comfort zone time wise but a great practice definitely creating heat as per the description. Modified greatly as it seems my body has forgotten how to yoga🙄

Jumbojem · 03/12/2023 20:36

Well done on the longer practice @Yogachick I haven't done anything over 20mins in months.
@Sooverthemill hope you all feel better soon.
I'm a convert to Kassandra thanks to you guys. Decided I'm going to do exclusively Kassandra until Jan24s YWA 30 days starts. By then I'll have had a break from Adriene and hopefully will feel glad to see her again. Think trying some diff yogis has made me realise it wasn't yoga I got jaded with but more hearing the same sayings/ similar routines that I got a bit bored over the summer with YWA.

CrimsonElevenDelightPetrichor · 04/12/2023 10:27

Well done @Yogachick .
I agree @Jumbojem , my regular class is very samey & predictable. Instructor is a friend though, so I can't stop going. Instead of yogi-talk we get a lesson in anatomy. 🥱
I had the weekend off, then did YWA strength day today. I collapsed on my mat a few times. Oh well, it's all part of the journey.

Yogachick · 04/12/2023 20:11

Dec calendar day 4 -Centre Day 19, Play. She misses standing splits on one side completely but I paused the video and slotted it in. I did not want to yoga today,we lost our beautiful fur baby last month and I’m struggling with her loss terribly.Did this one as it was only 20 mins, with TV muted & no mat so I wasn’t doing an ‘official’ practice. Am such a weirdo

Jumbojem · 07/12/2023 15:35

@Yogachick sorry to hear about your fur baby.

I'm still going with Kassandra, although when OH is around I skip the "ohhhmmm" bit at the end.

Yogachick · 09/12/2023 11:29

Yoga to start your day from Dec calendar. An old Adriene but goodie. Cried on my mat after🙄
