@Rummikub standing forward fold makes me feel nauseous. I think it's because my tummy is too big so gets squashed in the fold! Or I may not be doing it quite right? Def not my fave move.

Rummikub · 02/02/2023 16:50

Ha I think it might be my tum too 😂

She makes it sound like its gloriously relaxing and I find it torture! I’ve started doing extended child pose instead or a half lift.

ScottishBeth · 02/02/2023 18:17

I found this, which has a couple of variations to forward fold. The chair one looks quite nice, I thought. Link

Rummikub · 02/02/2023 20:15

@ScottishBeth thanks for that great link!

The chair one does look good.

Reading about the benefits of forward fold in that link and I clearly need to persevere!

Whattheladybird · 02/02/2023 20:44

Did Day 1 on Move yesterday (boy I felt that today) and just finished Day 2.

VerbenaView · 02/02/2023 21:15

D2 Center complete - was a really lovely practice.

Chimna · 02/02/2023 21:53

D2 move done - that was challenging but I now feel like every move is with intention. I feel like I've really worked my body now.

notanicepersonapparently · 02/02/2023 22:34

I decided to go with Move and I’ve done days 1 and 2. Still feels like a challenge even after a year of daily yoga! Wobbly lunges and complaining abbs.

happytobemrsg · 02/02/2023 22:38

I found Move day 2 incredibly difficult. I had technical issues & had to keep stopping and starting. I found tonight really, really hard

happytobemrsg · 02/02/2023 23:01

Days 1 & 2 of Move have been so hard. I’m feeling a little disheartened

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/02/2023 00:06

Day 1 of centre dine. I’d forgotten the coffee grinder circles.

Try center again. The shorter sessions might help.

Chimna · 03/02/2023 02:57

For me personally this is why I didn't want to repeat center. It didn't feel like enough of a workout on it's own so I was worried about messing up fitness levels that took a long time to build up to.

Prestissimo · 03/02/2023 05:10

D2 of move done last night and agree they do feel like a step up from a month of Center. Weirdly they didn't feel as hard when I first did them last year - I'm hoping this means I'm developing proper yoga practice/concentrating on the right things rather than that I've got much less fit over the last year Grin

newmumtotwo24 · 03/02/2023 09:00

Day 3 of move done. It definitely feels like the next level after centre. I'm enjoying the longer session and my body is feeling it. Very grateful centre was first though as being a complete newbie and pp I don't think id have kept it up if I had started with move! Centre was the prefect introduction for me

HellonHeels · 03/02/2023 09:05

Move is tough! I woke up today really feeling it, got post workout soreness. Feels good though.

As pps have said, I'm glad I started with Center

Yogachick · 03/02/2023 09:28

Move Day 3. Mentally tough today as I wasn’t in the mood to get on the mat. And side planks, briefly

happytobemrsg · 03/02/2023 09:40

What exercise is everyone doing alongside the yoga? Before YWA I didn’t exercise at all so right now this is all I do.

Sooverthemill · 03/02/2023 09:43

Absolutely knackered after a few days away ( Paris, first holiday for 10 years) where we walked everywhere and I did a shortened yoga session from Center daily. Today I did a shortened Freeform day 30. Tomorrow I start Center again.

somekne said plank to DD is hard. I find it easy but I always do the ‘wave’ thing that she often uses

Glad Paris was good @Sooverthemill

Trying to do plank/downward dog. Never even noticed I wasn't doing it properly before!

Day 3 of move, yes a lot harder and it's more difficult to show up to the mat. But weirdly enjoying it.

Thanks for the link @ScottishBeth, really useful.

Jumbojem · 03/02/2023 12:58

Day 3 of Move done. I enjoyed this one, little bit of side plank which I'm not great at but these felt easier than the ones in Centre as you just quickly "tik tok" as she calls it, into it.

@happytobemrsg My main exercise is running. The yoga is a great compliment to it for stretching out the muscles and joints from the impact.

Lots of us felt that last year which is why we all repeated it, I did it 12 times! I’m doing center again so I bet I feel move next month. It’s great to feel progress when you do move month after month.

happytobemrsg · 03/02/2023 13:43

Does anyone recommend a yoga mat? Mine is very squishy & now I’m doing a harder practice it’s starting to annoy me

ScottishBeth · 03/02/2023 13:44

Glad the link was helpful @hoochyhag and @Rummikub I often Google a shape in the hope I can get a better idea of how I should be doing it.

@happytobemrsg I think Move gets a bit easier in a bit - it is hard. I love Adriene and really appreciate what she does, but honestly I think these couple of days were maybe not the best put together. Don't feel bad if you have to adapt a pose, take a child's pose for a bit in between. You could go back to Center as suggested, or persevere for a few more days and see how you feel?

I do a trapeze class once a week. The increased core strength I've got from doing regular yoga since the middle of October has helped me loads. Apart from that I just do some walking. But I think a daily yoga practice, doing Center or Move (or one of the other 30 day things, but I dont know them), would probably be a really solid foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

happytobemrsg · 03/02/2023 13:51

@ScottishBeth i just did day 3 (earlier in the day than usual as I have plans tonight) & yes it was crazy hard but I let myself just be & I ended up enjoying it. Maybe I just need to persevere!

I want to add more exercise to my week but I’d like it to be home-based if possible
