Starting a new thread for November. Going to try to start tomorrow with a gentle one as it's a long time for me!

@Sooverthemill thank you and signing on for November. Hope you are feeling better.

Ottiva · 01/11/2022 06:49

Thank you @Sooverthemill. I hope you are soon feeling 100% again

I've been doing a number of the yoga for weight loss videos since finishing Move. I don't really need to lose weight but find these are good active routines. Some are too long though, a lot are close to 1 hour which I find hard to fit in

Sooverthemill · 01/11/2022 08:35

Thank you. I definitely don’t feel 100% but I’m very stiff and need to try gentle yoga so today I did a short 10 minute stretching one and it was so good to get back on the mat!

Hi everyone!

I am continuing with Move. I didn't do it on Sunday, as I went to a trapeze class, did a 5 minute morning yoga instead. So today was day 8. It was lovely! I felt super relaxed! Only thing was the alternate nostril breathing went on for ages! I think it was sitting up for so long that was bothering me though.

I also enjoyed day 7 yesterday - I think that was my favourite so far.

@Ottiva the more active ones sound good, but nearly an hour is super long! Occasionally I have thought about doing them, but I think 40 minutes has probably been my longest.

@Sooverthemill sorry you're still feeling rough. Gentle stretching videos sound good, but make sure you take it easy!

Sooverthemill · 01/11/2022 15:55

@Ottiva I read an interview with Adrienne once where she said the series for weight loss wasn’t really for weight loss but to appear in search engines. I love those too, when well

Good to hear you're back on the mat Sooverthemill. I've just one day of October's move to finish and then I'll start all over again. I wonder what January will bring us!

Prestissimo · 01/11/2022 21:35

Just signing in after a few months off. Thanks for the new thread @Sooverthemill , I was confident I'd find you all here.

I'm trying the YWA November calendar this month as it's a calming meditation one and what with the way of the world and the time of year it feels like what I need. Have done two today as the first one was only 10mins and was mainly meditation/breathing rather than any actual yoga. Looking forward to getting back into a daily habit.

CassandraBarrett · 01/11/2022 21:53

I'm still trying to finish Move. Did Day 13 today

ScottishBeth · 02/11/2022 07:49

@CassandraBarrett you're just a few days ahead of me. How are you finding it?

@UnaOfStormhold I am quite looking forward to January as well!

Sooverthemill · 02/11/2022 08:52

Hello everyone! I did another stretch one which included reclined pigeon which normally I do before bed and oh my gosh that was difficult. Just shows 6 weeks off the mat isn't good for me!

BestIsWest · 02/11/2022 17:43

Day 17 today which is very gentle.

Sooverthemill · 03/11/2022 08:50

Another 10 minute one. I did downward dog! Yay. Feel like a total beginner...

I started Move again yesterday (I think that's the sixth time this year). I found the poses were held for much longer than I had got used to from the later Move sessions, probably because it's more challenging for people who have done the poses before while giving time to those who need to watch and work out how to get into the asanas.

One step at a time @Sooverthemill, don't forget to FWFG!

BestIsWest · 04/11/2022 17:18

Just done 18 which is a lovely one @Sooverthemill Mostly lovely stretches. It is quite long but not too strenuous if you want to ease yourself back in.

Shinyandnew2022 · 04/11/2022 21:41

Hello everyone I have found you /
Thanks for the thread
@Sooverthemill
Pleased to hear you are easing back in to it all!
I have had an awful week after a mostly better October . I did one session yesterday and I think that is all.
Hopefully I can get back on track .

I was thinking of trying the nov meditation. What sort of media ration is it? If it’s all nostril breathing I’ll give it a miss!

only one more month then I wonder what January will be!

Soover it took me ages to get back into it so you’re doing really well!

Ottiva · 06/11/2022 13:05

I restarted Move on 1st Nov, skipped yesterday due to taking part in an adventure race with my DC. Day 5 this morning was very welcome on the stiff, sore and bruised body!

BestIsWest · 06/11/2022 17:59

Day 19 today- short but brutal. Good grief.

Sooverthemill · 07/11/2022 09:04

No yoga last 2 days as we've had a house full and the sofa bed was in use by adult children who do not get up early!
today I did another 10 minute stretch one which was very welcome. I seem to have develops of kinks and aches after covid.

ScottishBeth · 07/11/2022 16:12

I've now done 29 consecutive days of yoga! Am so pleased! Today I did day 13 - Flight. I really enjoyed it, but it was a challenge. I was expecting to find crow the most challenging, but it was the standing half split and half moon stuff that I felt really pushed me. Not that you should take this is a statement that I achieved crow! Anyway it was really good.

A few days ago there was one with a lot of tree, I was sonpleased with that! I even closed my eyes (and promptly toppled over).

@Sooverthemill I don't think it takes long to lose some flexibility if you have a few days off! Luckily I don't think it takes too long to come back, as long as you haven't had too long off! It'll come!

Sooverthemill · 07/11/2022 17:23

@ScottishBeth trouble is I've had around 6 weeks because of covid...but previously I had hardly missed many days for 7 years

Hello! I was in the original Jan thread and kept going in Feb but then I started training for a couple of half marathons so yoga fell by the wayside. May have been a mistake as I'm now on the injury bench.
I felt so good doing yoga everyday, so much calmer and def improved as I progressed through Move.
I still do Adrienne every few days, I really enjoyed the Bones one but it was tough on the quads!
I'm looking forward to the next 30 days one, hope it's a goody, Move was the best so far. I'd never managed to stick to any for the full 30 days before as they were too long and I couldn't keep up. I could do longer sessions if I actually got up earlier like I am always saying I will, but it's hard when it's cold and dark!
@Sooverthemill thank you for making the original thread and keeping it going. Sorry to hear you've been poorly hope you feel better soon.

Prestissimo · 08/11/2022 07:53

@Rummikub no nostril breathing so far! I think she's just put random previous episodes onto a timetable, so it's not a progressing thing in the same way that Move is, but actually I quite like it. Lots of breathing (not through nostrils though 😁) and 'coming into stillness'. The one I did last night was a bit more yoga-y and there's a 20 minute strength one that I think I'm due to do tomorrow.

The benefit of it not being a set programme is that I can pick and choose when I do them depending on how much time I have. They range from 6mins to 40! I haven't yet managed the 40minute 'greet the day' - I tend to be either running or managing the children at that time, not doing yoga!

Sooverthemill · 08/11/2022 10:19

Did a 9 minute session today ( now that was good). Trying to stay well. @Jumbojem thank you! Nice to see you back. Adrienne has already taped the January programme so I think we will see teasers beginning of December
@Prestissimo the monthly themed calendar is always a selection of loosely linked old videos. It's a good idea but I've never got into it!

ScottishBeth · 08/11/2022 19:58

Ooh, @Sooverthemill how do you know that? I am so excited! And I hope you are starting to feel properly better.
