Starting a new thread for November. Going to try to start tomorrow with a gentle one as it's a long time for me!

@Prestissimo thanks for that info. I might have a look at the shorter meditation sessions.
don’t think I could do 40 mins! V pleased to hear no nostril breathing!

Sooverthemill · 09/11/2022 10:08

@ScottishBeth it was in one of her newsletters. She has had a tough time following her mum having a stoke last year and I think she has decided to do a lot less and pace herself more.

another short stretchy one. My back and shoulders are so tight!

@Rummikub a few years ago Adrienne did a series with Commune which you can still access ( might be a few) which 10 minutes of yoga followed by 10 minutes of meditation. It was fab

That does sound like a good combo. I like the stillness more than I thought as my mind is usually non stop.

Sooverthemill · 10/11/2022 08:14

The website is onecommune.com and you can have a 14 day free trial. But I think I paid £20 to have the course for life. I've just fast forwarded through a couple I don't remember them at all! But it was 2018

Just done another short session. Still utterly knackered and achey.

OP posts:
Sooverthemill · 12/11/2022 08:28

I'm still taking it very easy as I'm so knackered but today I did another kassandra session which was so short and mindful, it really reminded me how to do all these basic poses so I thought others might enjoy

Fell off the wagon for a couple of days as DS1 was in hospital. He got home yesterday Smile so I did move day 10 which was thankfully short and much needed to stretch out the kinks from sleeping in the hospital fold up bed!

Sooverthemill · 13/11/2022 07:19

Oh @Ottiva i hope all is well now. I've had many nights on that bed! Rubbish

OP posts:
ScottishBeth · 13/11/2022 07:34

@Ottiva hope your son is OK!

@Sooverthemill something back to basics is really good. I had to go and look at pigeon the other day to check I was doing it right for my body.

I am doing well. I did day 19 of move yesterday, and was very pleased. I had a thought though I'd like to ask. I have to sit on a block when ever I'm sat on the floor, eg cross legged or bound angle (can't spell the proper names of the poses). Has anyone been able to stop using the block after Consisten practice?

Won't be doing Move today as I have a trapeze class later. I'll just do a short video, probably while watching LO as my partner needs a break!

Ottiva · 13/11/2022 20:54

@Sooverthemill and @ScottishBeth thanks for the well wishes. Thankfully it was just a short stay and no long term issues

Turns out I actually did day 9 yesterday, Day 10 today was considerably more challenging but I really enjoyed it. I think I need to start making a YouTube playlist of my personal favourites

Sooverthemill · 14/11/2022 08:45

I've done short stretchy sessions again but today it didn't feel so much of an effort. Yay!maybe by January I will be able to do the new ones!

CassandraBarrett · 15/11/2022 17:49

@ScottishBeth I'm only back on the thread and seeing your question now! You're ahead of me by now I'm sure. I'm enjoying it 😊
I did Day 19 today, 10 to go so I'm on track to finish by Nov 30th. One of the upcoming ones is 12 mins so I'm hoping to do two that day

Sooverthemill · 16/11/2022 08:49

Another short kassandra session. Just trying to stay motivated

OP posts:
ScottishBeth · 16/11/2022 14:23

@CassandraBarrett not that far ahead - I have just done day 21. We've It had a few disrupted nights,so while I have done some yoga every day, a few times Ive picked other sessions as been too shattered to stand! Day 21 was mercifully short! As quite a challenge. I am enjoying it so much though!

@Sooverthemill it's so difficult when you can't do what you'd really like to be doing. You are doing well to persevere though.

CassandraBarrett · 16/11/2022 18:03

I've just finished #20. Tougher than I thought.
@ScottishBeth I hope you get some sleep soon!

BestIsWest · 18/11/2022 08:27

I did 24 last night. I’ve been really bad this month - just been too busy and then let the habit slip.
It wasn’t too bad.

Rummikub · 18/11/2022 20:01

I’ve let the habit slip too. Annoyed with myself!

CassandraBarrett · 19/11/2022 22:16

I'm up as far as Day #24 today so I'm pleased I should be able to finish Move this month 🙂

ScottishBeth · 20/11/2022 07:41

@CassandraBarrett I did day 24 yesterday! Did you enjoy it?

I loved it! I had to show my wife the balance stuff from it while we were watching Strictly! Day 23 I felt quite mixed about. I didn't like the stuff she was saying (though I can't remember why). But I found one of the transitions so much better. In general my transitions are getting smoother and I am starting to feel a little stronger and more flexible. So am very pleased! I think I'm going to repeat Move once more then maybe just pick some favourite practices until the new programme in January.

CassandraBarrett · 20/11/2022 16:52

@ScottishBeth

Yes! I really liked #24. I felt I could do it more easily than previous ones so I must be improving 😁 then I had a few extra minutes and did #21 which I had skipped (the 12 min abs one) and that was a killer 😖

CassandraBarrett · 20/11/2022 16:52

I think that's a great idea to repeat Move once I get to the end - I think I'll do the same!!

BestIsWest · 20/11/2022 19:45

Thought I was doing 25 today when suddenly I heard ‘I see three cardinals’ and realised I was doing no 5 again. It was lovely though.

BestIsWest · 24/11/2022 17:31

I’ve done 26 and 27 and today I just did some general stretched and had a go AtCobra to plank transition which I just have never been able to manage. I hate it so much that I often skip Cobra all together. But I did manage it of sorts twice today without having to resort to going on to all fours first.

ScottishBeth · 24/11/2022 18:59

Ooh @BestIsWest I just did day 27 today! It was super hard. I was not good at it, due to being exhausted. In fact when she got you to whisper "I am strong" I just stayed collapsed in a heap and skipped the next set of 3 legged dog knee to elbow! But like you my transition from cobra to plank is slowly improving.

Sadly I missed a day yesterday. First day of no yoga since 10th October. Still, it's only one day, I've done really well with this streak, and the most important thing is I did go back to it today!
