URGENT - DH JUST BEEN SUSPENDED FROM WORK NEED ADVICE

puddytats · 09/06/2005 11:39

DH just got home. Returned today after 4weeks off after birth of dd to find that he is at the centre of fraud allegations at work. He was given no warning until this morning and was given no chance of having a representitive at the meeting that suspended him.

He did not do this (i know i am bound to say this but he is innocent). Where do we go from here, what should work have provided him with, what do they need to tell him etc?

Filled with horror on your behalf, Puddytats, this is unimaginable, I am so sorry.
Lets all hope that this is the week when a corner is turned....

Puff · 13/06/2005 10:21

Hope you've managed to find a suitable lawyer puddytats and you are holding up ok.

Puff xx

munz · 13/06/2005 14:50

any changes PT?

puddytats · 13/06/2005 15:20

No change at the moment, things just going from bad to worse really. No other family members work there and the friendships that we thought we had formed are now completly dead as we cannot trust anyone there.

OP posts:
munz · 13/06/2005 15:23

wise move, did u have any v close friends there who would benifit from the cash?

Blu · 13/06/2005 15:26

Where did the money actually end up, PT - or was the cheque intercepted by the bank before they paid it in?

gothicmama · 13/06/2005 15:35

if the bank intercepted the cheque or you know what time the cheque qas handed in could the police not look at cctv footage for the day /time or your dh could state where he was at that time

Crazymama · 13/06/2005 15:36

Puddytats

The truth will come out. In the meantime, I am sure you are going through such a terrible time.

As the cheques were cashed at your normal bank (or one of them was), they must have been paid into an account with the said names. The bank will beable to prove who opened this account (through signatures, ID obtained and CCTV footage of cheques being paid in). They will also beable to trace where the funds went once they were cleared. Again, the culrit must of withdrawn the funds one way or another, and again there will be evidence of how this was done.

Anyone who has opened a bank account recently will know just how difficult it is - whoever did this, must of had fake identification of you and your husband (or indeed has access to original identification). Again, the bank will have copies of all this on file.

Hang in there, the truth will come out. And when it does, be ready to sue the ass of his employers!

Jampots · 13/06/2005 17:02

hows things puddytats? What happened with the Police (if you can tell us)

Tortington · 14/06/2005 11:43

how are things?

starlover · 14/06/2005 11:45

they may not have cctv footage if this happened last year. Some places only keep video footage for a set period of time, or if something happened that they need to keep

Chandra · 14/06/2005 11:51

Puddytats, I have been reading your thread for the last days and even though I can't add much to what has been said, I just wanted to tell you that I'm horrified at what your family has been put through and expect the person who did all this gets what he/she deserves in the future.

jambo1707 · 14/06/2005 12:52

Any update PT

puddytats · 14/06/2005 13:27

We have just discovered that someone else has been suspended today from dh work.

She is possibly even more innocent than dh. If we had to compile a list of people we suspected she just would not be on it.

This is just getter stranger and stranger and worse and worse.

DH had meeting with bank this morning and they are sending us some info thro

OP posts:
munz · 14/06/2005 13:37

fingers crossed PT - we're all routin for u here. i'm sure who ever's done this will mess up some where it's just a case of it being found out.

Chandra · 14/06/2005 13:41

Well, even if she is more innocent than your DH between the two of you you can narrow the search (though I would advise not to discuss things with her just in case..). The question now would be, who has access to info/documents/etc of both she and your husband?

oliveoil · 14/06/2005 13:43

Just seen this, dreadful . Do you need money, I am sure we could set up a 'fighting fund' for you.

puddytats · 14/06/2005 13:47

Oliveoil, thankyou so much.

At the moment we are ok, luckily we have family on both sides who will not let us be without - that is another stupid thing, if we had got in a mess all we had to ask and we would be helped so have no need to go to criminal extent!

OP posts:
PrincessPeaHead · 14/06/2005 14:07

the two best white collar crime practices are peters & peters (claire lipworth is good)www.petersandpeters.co.uk or Kingsley Napley (the person I used to know there has left but the team is very good. Try stephen gentle) www.kingsleynapley.co.uk.

Both those firms act for individual defendents as well as the big institutions so have a good all round view. I'd go straight to either of them and get some advice if I were you. Best of luck. xx

jambo1707 · 14/06/2005 15:17

Pt

This is getting worse for you, but at least not in any malice meant here he aint alone.

Was your dh and the other employee close i.e secretary, friend etc.

This company may be clutching at staws here hun and may be covering up their mistakes but maybe didnt expect you to fight.

How long do you have to wait for the bank info?
And what have the police said in relation to all this?

Thinking of you all always and I agree with olive oil with the fighting fund, you are among friends and we are all routing for you

suedonim · 14/06/2005 17:18

I allowed myself a smile on your behalf when I read your first sentence, PT. Then my jaw hit the floor when I read your second. What on earth can be going on? Still thinking of you.

puddytats · 14/06/2005 17:23

DH trained this woman! She was also considered a friend. Cannot obviously talk to her and just have to wait at the mo.

Have spoken to Edward Hayes solicitor as well as the one we are currently using for advice but unfortunatly at the moment we have run out of things we can physically do.

OP posts:
Nightynight · 14/06/2005 17:48

Still thinking of you puddytats. Hope you are finding time to enjoy being with your little ones despite all this.
