URGENT - DH JUST BEEN SUSPENDED FROM WORK NEED ADVICE

DH just got home. Returned today after 4weeks off after birth of dd to find that he is at the centre of fraud allegations at work. He was given no warning until this morning and was given no chance of having a representitive at the meeting that suspended him.

He did not do this (i know i am bound to say this but he is innocent). Where do we go from here, what should work have provided him with, what do they need to tell him etc?

Anything new happening today PT????

puddytats · 15/06/2005 21:05

No further news today. Received a letter from work basically summerising the meeting from last friday and where they were going from there. They have stated that dh will still be on full pay until the end of the investigation (normal policy is 5 working days) so that is a little good news i suppose.

Actually got out the house today for something other than this complete mess which was lovely and gave us a break.

There are some things in the letter that we do not agree with or want amended so have made notes and dh will either call work tomorrow or bring them up at the next meeting.

Still waiting on info from bank so at the moment there is nothing left to do.

Have also been told that if any criminal investigation is to take place this will not happen until the employment one has finished so at least we can put that to the back of our minds for just a little while.

What part of the country does DH work in ?

Haven't had time to read the whole thread and updates. I hope you have a legal team at this stage.

Thinking of you.

Hi all

Have also posted this on bank thread that was started but trying to get max exposure!

received one of the paying in slips from the bank today and surprisingly it has thrown up more questions!

The paying in slip was not signed, it had no stamp on it and there was no home branch name filled in. On the top of the paying is slip is 'cheque agreed by **'.

In the amounts only the total was filled in, no cheques or cash amounts.

The cheque was in my maiden name but the account as opened several years after I was married and therefore in my married name (never in my maiden name).

Should this a) have been allowed to have been paid in in the first place?

b) Would my maiden name have been on the records and can a cheque be paid in based on it being a different name to that on the account?

wouldn't have thought so on both counts - is it possible someone in the bank was in with the person at work? think about if anyone at DH's work knows anyone in the banks.

apart from that... surely they wouldn't have cashed the cheque into that account. did u actually set the acocunt up? and if so how did this person obtain access to the bank dettails if it's not the account DH's wages get paid into - would suggest either someone's been rumaging thru ur private stuff in the house or someone at tha bank.

crunchie · 16/06/2005 14:51

Was it paid into a bank account that you own? Sorry I am a bit confused here. I understand it was paid into a bank account that is in your married name - am I right? and that by your post it sounds like it was paid into an account you own? If the cheque was cashed it would have needed to say 'cash' not your name.

Sorry to be dim

My thought was if the paying in slip was paid in via machine, rather than over teh counter there would be no stamp or anything.

It seems that the bank have mistakenly paid in a cheque that they shouldn't have as well,.

All in all it sounds so bizarre, but I am sure your dh didn't do it and therefore who ever did will get caught. It will be a horrible situaltion for a while, but luckily he is being paid.

Good luck

replied on your other thread puddy but just to clarify crunchie's point - Cheques paid in through an ATM are still scrutinised by a person at some point and the slip should be stamped.

jambo1707 · 16/06/2005 15:13

how messy

munz · 26/06/2005 09:37

puddy posted here yesterday.

PeachyClair · 21/07/2005 13:56

Hi

havent read

We managed to overturn am allegation (admittedly a minor one that I can't even remember!) years ago because Dh wasn't given the appropriate notice and chance for a representative. Letter to employers citing this was checked by a Barrister friend, so must have had some legality.

I really hope you get somewhere. banks make so many mistakes and it's awful, but they seem to have no awareness that it's real people on the other end.

jamboure · 21/07/2005 14:52

oh yeah has the bank been nback in touch too
