What do you do? I'm getting jaded working in the NHS and know I have many skills that I could use elsewhere...

I was also in the NHS and I switched to working for a manufacturer in sales

Senior leader in private HE provider. Universities are better employers though.

Not with the budget cuts and not great job security.

Teacher but I don't earn much over that

LaSourciereEfrontee · 20/08/2024 19:25

I’m a neuropsychologist in private practice. I earn about 75k, 3 days a week, term time only.

I wouldn’t go back to the NHS if they paid me (which they barely do.)

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 20/08/2024 19:25

Civil Engineer now specialising in Asset Management. I also work on a (paid) incident call out rota. I work for an Arm's Length government body.

Overthebow · 20/08/2024 19:26

Consultancy. Most (all?) the f these jobs you wouldn't just be able to walk into though, you'd need specific degree and experience first and to work your way up. My job needs an engineering or science degree plus a masters degree, and you'd start on £30k. It'd likely take you around 8 years to get to £50k but you can go much higher after that too.

Prenelope · 20/08/2024 19:27
