It's crazy hours for the money. I earn that for 30 hours admin in the local government. 4 days at 7.5 hours.

Breakfast club supervisor….after school club supervisor…and in between catering …50 hrs and I’m nearly 60

If it’s a nursery job, then yes that is standard pay and hours. Shocking considering the cost of childcare and qualifications expected from staff.

So about £13.43 per hour? About £2 over min wage. But your wage will be spread over the year which brings it down.

The role is roughly minimum wage, very slightly above. The hours are longish - lots of full time roles are more like 37 hours a week, sometimes 40 and sometimes as low as 35, whereas yours are 42.5. So a bit longer than average.

Whether it's a shit salary or not really depends on the skills needed for the role. I'm assuming it's relatively unskilled?

No, it is not an unskilled position, that's why I feel aggrieved by the low salary.

OK, so I'm assuming that you've rounded it down. Exactly £26,700 for 45 hours would not be legal, so the salary is presumably a tiny bit above what you've quoted and based on minimum wage.

Look for something else then, maybe? It sounds like they are confident that they can recruit for the role on minimum wage, so it boils down to whether the other aspects of the role suit you or not?
