Work toilets

I work within education and I'm absolutely fed up of our work toilets being left in the following way ......

  • drip/s of wee on the seat,
-stinking like a sewer you walk in and your eyes literally stream
  • no toilet roll ..... new roles are located in back of toilet /window cill
-or the worst ..... fanny gravel left on the seat 🤢🤮 without outing my work place by being so specific we only have 3 men who work at my work place, over 60 women so the chances are the culprits are actually women.

Is this actual normal work place behaviour?!

I fear I have outed myself I thought fanny gravel---- was a thing ....... hope non of my work colleagues are on here as I have brought up the fanny gravel on the seat before in the staffroom 😂

@SleepyHedgehog

Grim isn't it?! Your description is better than my description of fanny gravel.

😂 I’m definitely stealing that term.

Filthy animals. It always makes me wonder “imagine what their house is like”.

DarkDarkNight · 30/03/2023 20:28

Fanny gravel 😳 I’ve thankfully never encountered this, I thought stray pubes were bad enough.

TheChosenTwo · 30/03/2023 20:34

Never heard of fanny gravel before and even after the explanation I’m not sure what it is, I’ve certainly never seen it 😂
worked in schools for years, toilets were always a bit scummy, never any bloody loo roll, never any soap or paper towels to dry your hands and the air dryers didn’t work. 40
women all trying to use the same 3 cubicles in 50 minutes almost on a rota!
Work out of education now and my god it’s a whole new world out there, toiletry baskets, full length mirrors, clean mirrors above the sinks, the cleaner goes in and out all day cleaning and emptying bins, 5 spare loo rolls in each cubicle, a selection of hand soaps and a plethora of baskets with paper towels! there are probably only ever 10 women max in the building at the same time now (would have been much busier before Covid) and 6 cubicles with solid full length walls between them, none of the partition 3/4 height walls!

usernamechanged1 · 30/03/2023 20:35

I’ve encountered streaks of blood (clearly made by someone sitting down, removing a tampon and sliding it along the toilet seat on its way to the sanitary bin). This is a timely reminder of why I’m so glad I can WFH now.

getafringenotbotox · 30/03/2023 20:35

Fanny gravel omg lol.

I've heard it called cuntfetti and clitty litter before but I haven't heard fanny gravel. Hahahaha

Justontherightsideofnormal · 30/03/2023 20:38

@getafringenotbotox clitty litter 😂😂

InsertSomethingMotivationalHere · 30/03/2023 20:38

Cuntfetti!! Aaahahahahahha!!!!

SleepyHedgehog · 30/03/2023 20:44

All of the gravel/litter/fetti terms are great! 🤣 I can so easily conjour up the image of a rowdy drunken discussion on Geordie shore complaining about it.

Willowtre1 · 30/03/2023 20:48

Laughing out loud at the gravel, glitter etc. So it is actually a thing if there are multiple names for it?! Who knew! I've never heard of it, or seen it!

I've worked in a number of government buildings where signs implored users to not stand on the seat when using the loos - all to no avail.
Worst treatment of cleaners was in a major international charity - a hundred half-filled coffee mugs left around at the end of each day because the staff were too lazy to rinse them out.

In my experience of office cleaners, they don’t touch your dishes. Quite right.

What’s the standing on the toilet thing? Do people do that? 😂

Okunevo · 30/03/2023 20:54

I just wipe the seat. Often it's the over enthusiastic splashy flush, not pee.

We had to have these signs

Work toilets
ExplodingCarrots · 30/03/2023 21:16

Used to be a cleaner in an office building . The ladies toilets were always ten times worse than the mens. And there were only a handful of ladies who worked there. Always grim.

Personal cups were always left in the sink for us cleaners to sort because of course they were above cleaning their own cups 🙄.

That's so shit. We had a meeting today. I was the only women out of eight of us and we all cleaned up after ourselves together. Everything went in the office dishwasher etc etc. you wouldn't of known we had used the office.

I am lucky with the men on my team they are all considerate and don't expect me to do any of this as the only women. They are all over 40. Don't know if it's an age thing.

Callmenat · 30/03/2023 21:25

Why does op keep putting lines through sentences. Am i missing something?

KnickerlessParsons · 30/03/2023 21:27

We have the no standing on the seat signs too.
I was told that some toilet users from some parts of the world to this because it's more hygienic where they come from.

Shemovesshemoves21 · 30/03/2023 21:38

I was horrified at my old works toilets. All women and there would be shit and period blood all over the seat and floors on a weekly basis. Facilities had to keep sending emails around about not leaving the toilets in such a state because the cleaning lady shouldn't have to clean bodily fluids up like that. Absolutely fucking grim.

Justontherightsideofnormal · 31/03/2023 07:12

@Shemovesshemoves21 that is absolutely vile 🤢

Ewww I work in education and I feel your pain but our toilet shitter is down to one lady. I saw 3 incidents of shit left on the toilet….not at the back but up the front!! She must have shit herself to get it all over there. It hasn’t happened for a while thank goodness but she now walks around smelling of germalene!

Wow that's impressive shitting on the front of the toilet!! Why people don't check after use is beyond me. It's not exactly hard is it?!
Today I walked into the toilet nearest our staff room ...... I could literally taste the previous persons turd , the air was thick, foul smelling and no effort to disguise the smell with cheap impulse spray

Only time I have experienced toilets like this is in unisex toilets at a university (staff only) I worked in years ago.

WandaWonder · 31/03/2023 23:24

I have noticed on other threads talk of how spotless women toilets are, I would love to find out where as any I have been in over the years is gross
