Following another post, I thought it might be a good idea if we all put down our jobs/skills, in case we can help each other out by passing any business to each other!

So far we have:

JANSELL: Publications Designer: newsletters, leaflets, brochures, invitations companies or individuals)

TIGERMOTH: events management and copywriting

MORNINGPAPER (me!): Website design / website consultancy (websites from around £200 per site - billy bargain)

Anyone else?!

jojo38 here's a link to GMP's recruitment page - your own local force will probably have a similar one.

Nome: MFL teacher, currently SAHM
Nome dp: Programmer in Assembler (don't ask me!)

marthamoo · 23/11/2004 23:30

This thread is fascinating - what a clever bunch of people.

marthamoo: SAHM, sometime librarian (for boring public libraries and not at all exciting Watcher-type Giles activities a la Buffy the Vampire Slayer). And recently...copywriter and web researcher () Grin because I've only been doing it for two weeks and SenoraPostrophe is my boss (hi boss!)

Mrmarthamoo: Senior Microbiologist for the NHS. Grows bugs, pokes chopped off body parts with a stick, and prods yucky bodily fluid type stuff, and says what is wrong with you (moans that doctors get all the credit when he's done all the hard graft). Excellent for free pregnancy tests (just me...not all you lot, sorry!)

JoolsToo · 23/11/2004 23:32

mm - just wiped something of the end of my nose - can I send it to you?

marthamoo · 23/11/2004 23:34

Sure - sellotape it to a card, bung in fifty quid (it's expensive this analytical stuff) and we'll have the results to you by Monday.

Or I could just hazard a guess (in my non-scientific airhead type manner) that you have a cold?

gish · 23/11/2004 23:35

Anteater · 23/11/2004 23:46

Anteater and Mrs Anteater operate as one! Have been a Jockey, builder, student and engineer. Now run a Storage yard, a Holiday park, a gardening company, manufacture childrens playhouses and cat furniture, renovate our house/pile of stone AND look after the 3.1 baby Anteaters.

In another life I would have been a spy...!

turquoise · 23/11/2004 23:52

3.1 anteater? Is that a cat or another one on the way?

Anteater · 23/11/2004 23:56

turquoise · 23/11/2004 23:59

Oooh - congratulations. Day before my birthday so he/she will obviously be extra lovely

Uwila · 24/11/2004 08:57

ANteater, you make children's playhouses? Like the kind I could put in the back garden to entertain my toddler?

Interesting... Do you have a web site I might learn more on?

17 July is my nieces birthday. It's a wonderful day!

Marina · 24/11/2004 08:59

Martha, there is nothing boring about libraries, surely (A Fellow Librarian Writes). !
Agree that this is a fascinating thread. Keep coming back to update myself on what we are all meant to be doing...

Blackduck · 24/11/2004 09:10

This is great...for all those with Techie partners do you have moments when you say 'what are you thinking about' and they reply 'about the .net framework and decom' and you wish you hadn't asked

Northerner · 24/11/2004 09:20

Northerner - Account Manager for event managemnet company. I look after the account for a big pharmaceutical company and we also book transient accommodation so am very knowledgeable on UK Hotels.

Pidge · 24/11/2004 09:23

DH: Techy development stuff in the telecoms industry, and ditto to the ski instructor bit.

slug · 24/11/2004 10:17

Marthamoo, your dh and mine should get together and moan about the ignorance of 'medics'. He refuses to call them doctors as they don't have Phd's and therefore it's "only a courtesy title". Which hospital does he owrk at? Dh was at Great Ormond Street and before that Hammersmith.
