Following another post, I thought it might be a good idea if we all put down our jobs/skills, in case we can help each other out by passing any business to each other!

So far we have:

JANSELL: Publications Designer: newsletters, leaflets, brochures, invitations companies or individuals)

TIGERMOTH: events management and copywriting

MORNINGPAPER (me!): Website design / website consultancy (websites from around £200 per site - billy bargain)

Anyone else?!

OP posts:
monkeymagic · 23/11/2004 17:22

Monkeymagic - life coach (mostly for women in media)& trainer. Also responsible for outbreak of moustache drawing on unsuspecting babies (see previous threads for details).

DP - writer, has written a few TV cartoons, currently chugging through 1st book, a biography.

Both working from home, taking it in turns to mind the junior monkies

SantaFio2 · 23/11/2004 17:24

Easy · 23/11/2004 17:36

Easy - IT Trainer and consultant. Work on contracts for companies writing and presenting technical training courses. Also work for smaller clients writing macros for MS office applications, setting up small accounting systems, general IT support.

Easy's DH - Software development, writes applications (not web stuff) for windows/unix. Between contracts ATM, so if you know of anyone ......

Uwila · 23/11/2004 17:39

Easy, what sort of programs? DH is sometimes looking for developers, but I'm not sure what experience he looks for... or if they are hiring just now. It's a very small company.

tamum · 23/11/2004 18:39

Better late than never....

Tamum: academic geneticist and well, sort of cell biologist/biochemist. Main research interests cancer and motor neuron disease.

Mr Tamum (strictly Prof. Tamum ) pretty much the same only much more eminent

This thread is strangely compelling, isn't it?

SantaFio2 · 23/11/2004 18:42

dh's friend had motor neurone disease, took him ever so quick. Frightening, really was. the dr. suggested it could have been triggered by him being posted abroad alot, dont know how true this was!

carla · 23/11/2004 18:44

mummytummy - fantastic idea! Wasn't someone on here a parking warden!

ZolaPola · 23/11/2004 18:48

ZP: ex-dabbler in field of education (never my vocation, but an unfortunate elongated gap-year accident), now in different sector working mainly on strategic & service development issues. God, however, i say it sounds utterly boring (therefore won't give wordy job title!) However, it's v challenging, keeps me on my toes, is championing a v good cause, pays quite well - all essentials for me to get out of bed in the morning, though occasionally could do with a fat expense account and a glam sounding job for a change!
Mr ZP - something in IT (still not quite sure what myself)

tamum · 23/11/2004 19:03

I'm sorry to hear about that fio. It is a horrible, horrible disease. I can't imagine how being abroad would influence it unless he spent a lot of time in Guam, where there is a really high incidence.

Rowlers · 23/11/2004 19:23

Rowlers - MFL teacher
Mr Rowlers - Conservation officer
What am I giving this info for again? I've completely forgotton....

DelGirl · 23/11/2004 19:24

yawn yawn - pensions technical analyst which is a glorified name for an administrator really but hey! Was a nanny afor then.

BadHair · 23/11/2004 19:26

Badhair - advisor for part time students, strictly pastoral, nowt academic. Looking to revert to old role as PA though.

Mr Badhair - manager of home for very young and frequently very nasty young offenders. Expert of the Childrens Act (England and Wales only) if anyone needs it interpreting.

Easy · 23/11/2004 19:37

Uwila

Dh writes anything the clients wants, using C, C++, Visual C++, MFC, COM, ATL, SQL Server and assorted other stuff. 20 years experience in development.
Just finished a contract in Uxbridge, will work anywhere, altho I prefer him to be based from home, even if he has to make weekly visits to an office somewhere. As we have 6 computers here, a network and broadband, it seems silly to spend life living in bed and breakfasts.

Contact me thru CAT if your dh wants to know more, or email eas_1511 at hotmail dot com.

NomDePlume · 23/11/2004 19:39

I am hopelessly glued to this thread, it's truly fascinating.

slug · 23/11/2004 19:43

Slug: FE lecturer in ICT and Maths. Also part time MSc student

Mr Slug: former biomedical scientist (if you need a virus identified, he's your man!) Now full time SAH daddy

lavender2 · 23/11/2004 20:02

jojo38 · 23/11/2004 22:17

Gobbldigook,
You mention about your family in the police force... are you in the uk?
I only ask as my son is interested - he's too young at 14 but is looking at careers. Anywhere he can go and chat about it with someone or anything online? I haven't found anything yet but could be looking in the wrong place.

My skills? hmmm... secretarial/admin
