DWP Work Coach Application Process

SlayDuggee · 24/10/2020 12:52

I’ve applied for a Work Coach role at the DWP. I’ve done the video interview and received an email to upload my ID documents. Does this mean I have passed the interview?

I'm south west too but Cornwall. I accepted the other job I was offered, I can't take the risk of this not coming through or being an awful commute away. Good luck to everyone else!

Parsley1234 · 31/10/2020 18:13

I had no choice it was Bristol only except for the later adverts handled by the agency

Mayyaj · 04/11/2020 13:56

I’ve been offered a provisional offer after my RTW & ID interview today I have accepted this, does anyone know how long it takes for them to confirm a place ?

Redrobin25 · 04/11/2020 14:36

Hi @Mayyaj , I too received a provisional offer after the RTW & ID interview. I accepted, and have since submitted my pre employment and references form. I was told these final checks could take up to a month to complete. So providing they come back ok and the preferred location I requested is available then I can finally celebrate! Although, I’m not getting my hopes up, as I’ve heard it could still mean you’re placed on the reserve list. So who knows when we’ll find out? Could be ages! 😒

Parsley1234 · 04/11/2020 20:50

I think mine took about a month but I pushed back my start date in the hope I wd get the location I wanted. If there isn’t a space where you request you get on the reserve list I think

ClareyW17 · 04/11/2020 23:35

I have uploaded documents. They then video call you to see the uploaded documents on screen and then u get a provisional offer which u have 48 hours to accept. It does not have your location on though. If u have the document request though it means u passed the interview!

SlayDuggee · 13/11/2020 21:11

Yay! I’ve been offered a provisional start date!

That's amazing! Congratulations! Can I ask where please? Was your application centre updated before the offer? Mine has said pre-employment checks since the 3rd - had my dbs this week. Would love a guide on how much longer it might take. I have another interview next week but would prefer this job. Again congratulations!!!

DiamondRainbowUnicorn · 13/11/2020 22:01

Anyone else had an offer? Smile

Clarencefloss · 13/11/2020 23:54

Hey congratulations what start date did they give you? And did you get your preferred place?

SlayDuggee · 14/11/2020 01:57

I don’t know if I should put the location and start date as I don’t know if I’m the only one starting on that day (and I haven’t name changed!)

Yes I did get my first location (it’s on page 2 of the thread)

Clarencefloss · 14/11/2020 11:59

Ok fair enough. Hope you enjoy the job.

DiamondRainbowUnicorn · 14/11/2020 12:35

Congratulations @SlayDuggee Was your application centre updated before the offer? Mine has said pre-employment checks since the 3rd - had my dbs this week. Would love a guide on how much longer it might take. I have another interview next week but much would prefer this

SlayDuggee · 14/11/2020 14:49

My checks are still being done so my offer is still provisional.

I presume it depends how short staffed they are where you have applied to

OP posts:
DiamondRainbowUnicorn · 15/11/2020 11:16

Thanks, @SlayDuggee I think my checks are nearly done (Had DBS through, HMRC done, police checks done and referees have sent back references). Hopefully I will hear something soon. This has been the longest recruitment process ever!! Best of luck in your new job

PollyDora · 27/11/2020 09:19

Hi all! Joining the discussion a bit late but I've been creeping the whole way through. I had my ID and RTW call on Tuesday and was told I'd get my provisional offer through the next day but nothings come through yet. Can anyone tell me if they had to wait a few days for that? Getting a bit anxious because I had wanted to hand my notice in at work before the Christmas holidays so they've got plenty of time to deal with that, but it's looking unlikely I'll be able to do so 😵 feeling very on edge about it all!

DiamondRainbowUnicorn · 27/11/2020 09:45

@PollyDora mine came through after a few hours but that was over a month ago and Im still going through 'pre-employment checks' with no start date or location. The offer they send you after the rtw interview specifically says not to hand your notice in. You have to go through pre-employment checks before a formal offer which from reading other threads takes anything from one week to eight weeks!!! I think certain areas are being fast tracked though such as London as they are desperate for people

PollyDora · 27/11/2020 10:30

@DiamondRainbowUnicorn thank you for that, starting to make me worry that maybe they've changed their minds about me. The man who interviewed me said I'd get a provisional offer by the next day but nothing yet. And yeah I was just hoping to get this all done as soon as possible as I really would love to take some time off before starting a new job if I get one as I've been working non stop for months. Might just have to book holidays when I give my notice too!

Mayyaj · 27/11/2020 12:12

Hi

I got my provisional offer a few weeks back, I spoke to the web chat yesterday for an update on the pre employment checks, they advised that the vetting team are really busy at the moment and should get an update in a few weeks, if you are worried for not receiving an offer just do a web chat online to ask why this has not been sent over as you was told you should be receiving one soon - u might get some answers

PollyDora · 27/11/2020 13:29

Thank you @Mayyaj! I was thinking of doing that come Monday as I didn't want to come across as too pushy. But I should stop being apologetic about those kinds of things hey?

Clarencefloss · 28/11/2020 11:02

Got my formal offer today I start December hooray!!! Good luck everyone

Hellotheresweet · 14/12/2020 06:13

Mayyaj · 14/12/2020 08:07
