A senior colleague humiliated me publicly almost two months ago. I reported this and while he denied making a comment, he "apologised" in the must insulting way possible. I have sought to have the matter dealt with formally and met with HR who tried to convince me because he said it on a work night out it didn't count(it was a work do.) I have been isolated by my line managers and HR have told me that nothing will happen at least until next month.
Advice please

That's so crap! Maybe he shouldn't comment on your complaint particularly but he should be pushing to get it sorted for you and should certainly be showing some concern about you being signed off and keeping in touch, that's such a cop out. That's called 'I can't do people management when it gets remotely tricky so I'm going to get HR to do it for me'

Never mind, at least that's all on the record should you need it. It would be less of a problem if HR weren't also crap!

ok so today is my first day back at work. have had no contact from line manager just an email sent last week(!) saying that while I was "off" some cases were active and to give her a ring. my blood is boiling!

Assume your manager is not on the same site as you?

I'd give her a ring and say 'Just thought I'd touch base - I've not heard anything from you today so I just wanted to check you did know today was my first day back, and I'm sure you will agree that we need to arrange a catch-up meeting as soon as possible.'

Good grief, I am in despair that there are such incompetent 'managers' out there!

Hi mamasin good luck hope it goes well today, sorry you were ignored at the conference, at least they are your old team and I expect they would have had no idea what to say or how to deal with it anyway.

let us know how it went

Hi flowery. Interview was fine but the interviewers said that victimisation was beyond their terms of reference so I asked them to make HR aware that this had come up in our meeting. My head is wrecked at the mo!
chin up though!
